《The Alpha's Little Runner》Chapter 26

A couple of days have gone by, and we are preparing to get ready to head north. Marcus talked with the Alpha that lives close by and he agreed to let us stay there after traveling so far. Marcus and the guys were outside briefing all the warriors who were going.
We had a plan. We are hoping everything goes our way, and we can get the rest of the girls out. I was helping some of the women pack bags for everyone. We will be running for the next 3 days to the Valley Wolf pack.
We will stay in wolf form for most of the journey there. We won't have to worry about new clothes for everyone. We packed everyone 3 changes of clothes, water, and anything else we thought someone might need.
A lot of the warriors are going so we have been working on packing the bags for the last two days. We took the last of the bags outside to the pile. We had them separated between male and female bags.
I realized it would be a good idea to have women go along with us. The girls that are being held will not want to be around any male. They will be terrified. Marcus was finishing up going over the plan with the group.
"If anyone has any questions, then speak now before we head out," Marcus called out to the group. No one seemed to have a question. "Alright. We will head out in 10 minutes. Go and say your goodbyes and meet back here ready to go." The group moved about saying their goodbyes and what not. The plan was simple.
We were going to get to Valley Wolf pack and rest for two days. Alpha Richard said we would send scouts out to give us a layout of the area and find the exact location of the building. We would then split up into different groups and attack them at all side at once. We plan to make our way inside and kill rouges we find.
Once the place is clear, we will move anyone that was being held captive out onto buses that we will have waiting. We have buses that will be coming up that will bring all the women back to our land. Dr. Lacy has already been preparing for the arrival of all the people.
We have gotten everything she might need to treat all the people and then some. She had an idea of what she will be dealing with based on the state I was in when I first showed up. I did warn her that some might be worse than me because they have been their longer.

We held classes for anyone female that wanted to help Dr. Lacy with all the overflow. We wouldn't have any of the male nurses around until they all got more comfortable around everyone. She taught them the basics for treating the victims.
I was getting nervous for what we might find. My worst fear is that they have killed everyone and moved on from where they were. Clover came over to Marcus, Brian and I to say bye. She had Luca in her arms. I pulled both of the into a hug before taking Luca so she could hug Marcus and Brian.
Marcus pulled her in for a quick hug, "Keep everything in order while we are gone. Sam will be here to help with anything." They pulled away and she made her way to Brian. I handed Luca to Marcus. I still love to see him hold baby Luca. It warms my heart to think about him holding our baby. "Make sure you come back to us." Clover had tears in her eyes while saying bye to Brian. I had to turn away to give them some privacy.
Marcus handed Luca to Brian after he pulled away from Clover. She was crying now. I pulled her into another hug, "Please make sure he comes back." Clover mind linked me. I pulled away and nodded at her, "I promise."
Everyone who was traveling by wolf was back and ready to head out. We all grabbed a bag from the pile and wait. Marcus stood in front of everyone. "We will stay in wolf form from now until we get to the Valley Wolf pack. I have already contacted the Alphas of the other land and we all have permission to cross. Stay with the pack. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, then let it be known." With those words Marcus shifted and stood tall and proud. I watched as the rest of the pack shifted.
They were all shades of colors. As a Luna, I was proud of the wolves in front of me. I shifted and stood beside Marcus. "Everyone keep the mind link open. It will be easier to communicate with each other." Marcus made his way to the front of the group. I followed staying just behind him.
He howled before taking off into the woods. We all took off after him. As we moved, it sounded as if thunder was coming. Our paws dug into the wet earth as we ran. Marcus set the pace for everyone. I knew it would be a lot of running and Willow and I were ready. It had been a while since we ran, and we missed it. I felt freer while running in my wolf.

We moved through the thick trees. The wolves around me were moving swiftly through the trees. It was amazing to run with a pack again.
Brian came up beside me and nudged me. "I never got to see your wolf. I am sorry I wasn't there for you for your shift. I know I said I would be there, but I'm sorry I wasn't."
"It is alright. I understand. When it was happening, I was upset you weren't there. I was angry because I thought you were dead, and you were never going to see my wolf." I nudged him back while continuing to run.
We talked back and forth for a while. I didn't realize we were at our first rest point until we started to slow. We picked points along the way to rest and get a drink of water. We made sure the stops were by water.
"We will stop here and rest for 20 minutes, and then start back up." Marcus called out to us all. I walked over to the river and lapped at the water. I trotted over to a shady area and laid down on the cool grass. Marcus came and sat next to me, putting his head on my back.
We enjoyed the silence as we sat and watched everyone. I felt Marcus start to get up and I knew we were getting ready to head out again. "I am going to make sure everyone is good to go, and then we will continue on." I nodded and stayed in my spot resting. In no time we were back up and running. We had scheduled for us to have two stops a day in order for us to make it to Valley Wolf's pack on time.
We ran for the rest of the day until night fall. We made it to the clearing we had decided we were going to stop for the night at. "Everyone we will stop here for the night. Group 1 will take the first watch in 15 minutes once everyone is settled." Marcus called out to everyone.
I went and found a nice patch of grass to lay in and get comfortable. Marcus came and laid next to me after doing a perimeter check with the other wolves. I looked around and realized that all the wolves had found themselves a spot around Marcus and me.
I smiled at the thought that their natural instinct was the surround their Alpha and Luna and protect them. I snuggled closer to Marcus and drifted into a much needed sleep.
Once morning came around, a group of wolves went out hunting for breakfast for the pack. I had fallen asleep so fast last night that I didn't eat anything, so I was very hungry. Marcus went along with the hunting group and brought back a huge deer for him and me to share. He let me get my fair share before finishing what I didn't eat. We left after everyone had gotten some food in them.
This was our routine for the next two days. It was a lot of running for our wolves. I knew we would all need some rest in our human forms once we made it to the Valley Wolf pack.
As we neared the border of the pack, there was some wolves who met us at there. Marcus went behind a tree and turned back and threw on some shorts from his bag. "Hey, I am Alpha Marcus, and this is my Luna Madelyn." Marcus had told us to stay in wolf form until they allow us on the land. I nodded my head at the men that were standing in front of us.
"It is a pleasure to meet you both. I am the Beta Thomas of Valley Wolf pack. We are honored to host you all. Please join us at the pack house. It is an hours run from here." Marcus nodded his head at Thomas. "Lead the way," Marcus went and shifted after putting his shorts back in the bag.
We ran for a while longer before we broke through to the center of the land. We all stopped at the tree line and shifted back. I groaned as I landed on my two feet instead of four. That was the longest I have ever stayed in wolf form before. I knew Willow was tired and would need the next two days to rest before we traveled again.
"You did great, my love," Marcus came over to me and rubbed at my sore shoulders. I leaned into his hold. "Thank you. I have never stayed in wolf form for that long before. I am definitely going to be sore." I sighed as we made our way to join the others.
"After we meet with the Alpha and his people, we can get some food and rest," Marcus pulled me along beside him. I was too tired and hungry to protest and just wanted to get the rest of the day over with.
