《The Alpha's Little Runner》Chapter 11

I am running in the forest away from something. I am not sure where I am or what I am running from. It is dark outside, and I can barely see in front of me. I am panting while trying to catch my breathe. I hear movement around me and start to run again.
"There is no escaping us. We will get you," I hear a voice taught at me. I quickly pick up my pace and continue running. As I am running, I slam into something and smack the ground. "I told you we would get you."
I look up to see someone standing in front of me. They start to reach out to grab me while laughing. I start to panic and try to get away.
"NOOOOOOO," I wake up from my sleep jolting up in the bed while screaming. I was breathing heavy and covered in sweat. The bathroom door quickly burst open to a worried looking Marcus. His eyes were glowing meaning his wolf was on high alert. I was shaking while trying to calm down.
Marcus quickly made his way over to me and pulled me into his chest. "What happened? Are you alright?" Marcus asked while running his hand down my back in a soothing way. The sparks from his touch were amazing and really helping me calm down. "It was just a nightmare is all," I said after I had calmed down. I pulled away to look up at Marcus. He brough his hand up to caress my face.
I subconsciously leaned into his hand while he did so. "Are you sure you are alright?" He asked while looking at me still worried. "I am fine now. I promise," I said while getting up out of the bed. "I am going to take a shower," I said while grabbing some clothes. Marcus nodded while he went to get dressed in the closet.
I took a quick shower and got dressed quickly. I brushed and dried my hair and left it down. I usually wore it up, but I figured it would be nice to switch it up a bit. I made my way out of the bathroom and into the room. I saw that Marcus was doing some work on his laptop while waiting for me. "Are you ready to go get breakfast?" He asked while standing and walking toward the door. I nodded and made my way across the room. "I like your hair down. You should do it like that more often," Marcus said while grabbing my hand and leading the way down to the dinning room. I blushed at his comment and tried to hide it. He only chuckled at me as we rounded the stairs to the dinning room.
I could smell the food before I saw it. I hadn't realized how hungry I was until I smelled the food. As we made our way into the dinning room, there were more people in there than I was expecting. I was slightly nervous, and Marcus could tell. "I am sorry. I didn't realize this many people would be down here. We can go back to our room or my office to eat if you don't want to eat in here," Marcus said while pulling me back on into the hallway. I took a couple deep breathes before looking up to Marcus. I could tell he was nervous, but I also knew I just couldn't hide much longer.

I knew the pack was curious to see me. Clover had told me that they hadn't stopped talking about me since they heard the Alpha had found his mate. "No it is alright. I know I can't hide forever. I will eventually have to meet people as I am their Luna," I said while smiling at Marcus. He looked at me with slight shock put was quickly replaced with pride. He grabbed my hand and lead us into the dinning room. Everyone looked up at us as we made our way into the room. They all looked excited to be able to see me there. As we made our way to the front of the room, we got a lot of "Good morning Alpha and Luna." It was a bit overwhelming, but I knew I would get used to it eventually.
As we sat down, some omegas brought us food. There was pancakes, eggs, bacon, and fruit. It all looked amazing. I quickly dug into my food savoring the yummy taste of it all. I looked up from eating and noticed people were staring at me. I felt slightly uncomfortable, and Marcus noticed. He growled lowly making everyone quickly look away. "It is alright they are just curious," I said while placing my hand on his arm. He relaxed but still looked annoyed. "Well they don't have to stare so much," he said while stabbing at his pancakes. I shook my head at him and continued to eat.
After breakfast, Clover came to take me shopping with her and Polly. Polly and Clover have been best friends since they were little. Polly is a gorgeous girl. She is slightly taller than me at 5'6. She has blue eyes with light brown hair. Polly is mated to Sam, and they are just a like. They both love to goof around and have fun but also know when to be serious.
It is about a 45 minute drive to the mall. We jammed out to songs on the radio which I was unfamiliar with, but I didn't mind. It was fun to be able to let loose and have fun. "I haven't had this much fun in years," I say as we pull into a parking spot. The girls laughed at me as they dragged me to the front doors, "We are just getting started." They said while dragging me into the stores.
Clover informed me that Marcus had already sent guards ahead of time to make sure we were safe. I was slightly annoyed at first but understood why he had done it. He had his very pregnant sister and mate to look out for. I would have to remember to remind him I can take care of myself and don't need any babysitters.
We had made our way through multiple stores and every time we checked out some guys came up and took the bags for us. They scared me the first couple of times and Clover and Polly had to calm me down. They told me it was just the guards coming to get the bags to take to the cars so we wouldn't have to carry them all. After a while, Clover announced that she was getting hungry.

We made our way to the food court area and was trying to decide what we wanted. I went for sausage and olive pizza. Polly got some wings and fries. Clover couldn't decide what she wanted so she got a little bit from multiple stores. I could see the guards standing around, and I figured they had to be hungry as well. "Can you girls tell the guys to get them some food? I know they have to be just as hungry as we are," I said while biting into my pizza. Their eyes quickly glazed over while talking to the guys. "They said they are fine and will eat later on. Their job is to watch over us," Polly said after a minute or two. I huffed as I looked to some of the guards.
I got up and started to walk to the guard I know as Ryle. The girls tried to stop me, but I didn't pay them any attention. "I know you guys are just as hungry as we are, so you all need to get you some food." I said while making my way to him. "No can do Luna. The Alpha gave us specific instructions to watch over all you," Ryle said while steadily looking around.
"Well then you all can take turns getting some food. That is an order from your Luna," I said while looking at him to see if he would disobey an order. "Thank you, Luna. We appreciate it," Ryle said while his eyes glazed over. I made my way back to my seat to continue eating. I watched as all the guys took turns quickly getting them something to eat.
"How did you get them to listen to you? I know that Marcus told them to not leave us alone," Polly asked while Clover just looked stunned. "I told him that they all needed to get food and it was an order from their Luna," I said while shrugging my shoulders. The girls smiled widely at me and continued to eat.
After us three and all the guys were done eating, we continued shopping around the stores. I honestly don't see all the excitement about shopping. I was so tired from all the walking, but the girls looked like they could go on for forever.
We eventually left the mall and headed back to the house. I didn't realize until we were pulling up to the house that I had fell asleep while in the car. I looked out the window to see Marcus and Sam waiting at the front door for us. We quickly got out the car and made our way over to them. "Hey girls. Did you guys have fun shopping?" Marcus asked while pulling me into a hug.
He quickly put his head into my neck and breathed in deeply. "I missed you today," Marcus said low enough for only me to hear. I blushed as I looked up to him, "I missed you too." It was true. I really did miss Marcus today.
"We had a lot of fun. Although I am not sure Madelyn can hang with me and Polly," Clover said while slowly making her way to us. She was very pregnant and should be having the baby soon. Marcus was about to say something when a bunch of cars started to come down the road.
I was confused until I noticed Clover perk up and Marcus step forward, "The warriors are finally back." Marcus said while putting his hand around my waist and pulling me to him. "Now you will be able to meet our head warrior and Clover's mate," Marcus said as the cars came to a halt.
Clover started to make her way to the cars while the rest of us waited up by the house. Soon a tall man stepped out of the front seat of the car and quickly made his way over to Clover. He pulled her into a hug put he quickly pulled away and started to look around. Clover looked worried, but he didn't seem to notice.
Something seemed familiar about the guy in front of me. I stepped away from Marcus and looked at the guy more closely. Once he made eye contact with me, I gasped. This can't be real. I must be dreaming.
"Madelyn?"
"Bryan?"
