《Taken》Chapter 39

I still wasn't the girl I use to be and Adam knew that. I was getting stronger every day, thanks to him. I had plenty of panic attacks but they weren't as frequent anymore. I would never be the girl I had been before but I've come to accept that. I was mostly like her, just with a dark past that still came to haunt me from time to time.
I have visited my parents a few times also in the past month. They've easily accepted I was living with Adam now but I wondered if he had something to do with it or they were trying to get me to leave the house since I was an adult. They also just seemed to really like Adam. They love having me live with them, I just think they want to be together now without having kids to worry about, except for my annoying brother of course.
In the few months I have come to know Adam, I know I have fallen for him deeply. It didn't seem humanly possible but then again, our relationship wasn't entirely human. He was a werewolf and a witch after all.
I visited Storm everyday now. I want to keep my connection with him strong. He is another reason why I am so much better now than I was before. Lia of course helps all the time too. I am about as normal as I ever will be. I haven't had a panic attack for a few days now and that was amazing.
Currently, I was riding Storm, a smile easily slipping onto my face as I felt the wind streak past me and my hair sometimes fly into my face because of it. Laughter was much easier now. Everything was. Everyone was a big help in that.
My heart now pumped harder as I pushed Storm to go faster. He complied happily. I looked back over my shoulder with a huge grin on my face. He was so far behind, he was not going to catch up.
I saw the finish line and galloped across the field. I felt my whole body vibrate in excitement at the prospect of winning. Not to far now. Suddenly, a blur raced past me and I saw Adam up ahead and across the finish line. What? How in the world did he get up there so fast? I slowed Storm down as I came to a stop beside him and crossed the finished line, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Cheater. You always cheat! Why do I have to put up with you and your cheater ways! It's getting old!" I tried very hard to keep the smile off my face that wanted to crack.
"Because you love me," Adam grinned. "And it's called natural born talent love. If you can't live with it, don't challenge me. Besides, I always win and love a great chase." A predatory gleam lit up his eyes as he got off his horse and stalked toward me.
I backed Storm up away from him and shook my head. "No, I don't think so. Besides, having been born with magic doesn't count. It's still cheating."
"And it's natural born," he countered and grabbed a hold of my leg. "You can't expect me not to use it."
"Yes, I can." I grinned and before he could pull me off the saddle, I kicked Storm and we ran off into the forest again.
I heard Adam yell in frustration and I just let out a laugh in return. I hurried as fast as I could so he wouldn't catch me. I know they usually turn out in the end and I didn't want to give him that satisfaction.
I made it farther than I usually did when he caught me this time. I made it halfway back home when he pulled up in front of me, causing me to come to an abrupt stop. I tried going around him to get away again but he wasn't letting me. Before I knew it, he was beside me and pulling me onto his horse with him. He scooted back so I fit in front of him on the saddle, facing him.
"Now, do we need a repeat of what happened last time when you ran away?" Adam asked, eyebrow raised and a smirk on his face.
I shook my head in response, "nope. We don't. If you could kindly let me back on Stormy, we could pretend this never happened and be back at home in no time."

"Well you see darling, I can't do that." He just made a gesture with a shrug like that was the end of it and he really couldn't do anything about it.
"Yes, you can. It's not that hard. You just put me back on Stormy after all and..." I was interrupted by his laugh.
"Let me rephrase that. I won't do it because I don't want to. I like it like this." He then started moving again and Storm followed behind us.
"Well, maybe I don't." I replied and crossed my arms in front of me.
"Well, you're just going to have to live with it."
I just shook my head. I was determined to stay strong and not give in. But he just raised an eyebrow. "Is that a no?"
I shrugged. "Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But it is most likely yes."
A smile grew on his face, "you're just asking for trouble now, aren't you love. Looks like we're just going to have get the resistance right out of you."
He grabbed a hold of me and swung down. Don't ask how that is possible because I don't know. It was Adam so he seemed to make everything possible.
I squirmed in his grasp. "Adam! Put me down!"
"You want down?" he laughed, "here you go!" He laid me down on the ground a few feet away from the horses and then he was on top of me.
"Adam! This is not what I meant by putting me d...!" I started yelling and then broke out in laughter. A funny sensation was crawling up my side and I couldn't control my laughter. "Adam! Stop! St-stop ti-tickling me!" I let out in breaths heavily. It was uncontrollable. I twisted and struggled under him but I couldn't move him or get away from him in the least bit. He was to strong.
Above me, Adam was also laughing like crazy because of his torture to me. It seemed like forever until he finally stopped and it took awhile for me to gain my breath back. When I finally did, I looked up at him only to feel his lips cover my own.
My eyes instantly closed and my fingers tangled up in his hair as I lost myself in his kiss.
It was amazing, one of the best I have ever had. No kiss of his was comparable to another one of his. Every kiss was unique in its own way. This was sweet, possessive, and kind. One hand of his went under my head, holding me to him while the other traveled down to my hip.
Adam pulled back not to long later and looked down at me with a small smile. "How's that for getting you to stop being so difficult?"
"That's one of the best ways to get me to shut up," I said dreamily, starring at nothing while I relived the kiss in my head.
Adam laughed softly and pulled me back up. "Now let's go home."
All I did was nod in agreement as we headed back home once again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yay! Update! What do you think of it? And Happy Mother's day! I hope all of you mothers had a great day!
I'm coming to a dead brain for writers block because I have ideas what I want to do with the story, I just have no idea how to get there. I know what I want to do in the end, but what to put in between is the question because it doesn't seem logical unless I put a bigger time jump or did something else in between. What do you think? Any ideas?
