《The Devil's Love》Playing with Fire: Chapter 2: Sarah

This vampire hangout was pretty swank, they sure knew how to decorate. From the rich red corridors with tea lights and plush carpet to the room itself. We walked into the small entry that lead to the lounge room. A room that was filled with lounges that looked incredibly comfortable, all facing an enormous television screen that sat above a fireplace.

Investigating the area, I found a small industrial style kitchen. Strong and sharp lines with stainless steel benches and appliances. It looked like it was brand new, never used. The dining room was beside it, in the room was a table that could seat twelve. Like the lounge room, it was decorated with an old world theme. Deep and dark colors with wood panels on the bottom half to a dado rail.

I ventured out of the room, finding there were a small powder room and a study. It looked like something that a professor should reside in. Wall to wall books on dark wood shelves, the desk made of the same wood.

Anton was in the only bedroom, it was almost as big as the rest of the place. The bed dominated the room, it was so wide it had three pillows sitting against the headboard. Who needs a bed that big?

"I'm at the end." I blurted out, staring at the bed.

It was like my one track mind was not connected to my mouth. Or if it was, it wasn't working properly.

"Pardon?"

I looked at Anton who was standing at the doorway to the walk in robe. Awkwardly I gestured to my body, hoping that he'd take the hint. Because now my mouth had decided to stop working.

Slowly he walked over, his head tipped slightly as he assessed me. I could feel the heat rise in my cheeks as I backed away, hitting the wall.

"At what end Sarah?" he whispered against my lips.

It was then that my mouth started to work, letting out a strained whimper.

"Cycle," I said rather mortified.

"Is that right?" he whispered rather amused. "Is that your way of telling me that it's unlikely that you will get pregnant?"

I nodded slightly, unable to take my eyes off him. His lips traced over mine, barely touching. With a groan that escaped me, he pressed me against the wall and kissed me harshly. Harsher than he ever had. As our tongues danced in the kiss, his hands slid down my sides. Both legs were lifted around his hips as my skirt was pushed over my backside.

I groaned again when he pressed himself against me, that dig was so incredible. A knock at the main door interrupted what could have been something so amazing. Anton and I looked at each other, our lips still locked. Slowly we parted and Anton set my feet back to the ground.

"I'll go answer the door, you deal with that," I said as I gestured to his pants.

"You are a delinquent, did you know that?"

With a cheeky nod, I pushed my skirt back down my thighs and ventured out of the room. When I opened the main door I was faced with a beautiful blonde woman. No, beautiful wasn't enough to describe her. Long flowing wavy hair and brilliant green eyes. Tall with perfect, peachy pale skin. And a body that was filled to a man's delight. Tight pants showed off the hips that were round but in proportion to her lithe frame. She wore a tight corset like top that pushed the ample cleavage up.

"Hi," she said with a mighty big grin. "Is this Anton's room? I wasn't sure, there are so many in this place."

"Uh yeah."

In that grin, I saw fangs and I wanted to shrink back with fear, I was faced with a vampire. An incredibly good looking vampire. And one that was looking for Anton. Why?

"Martine."

I nearly jumped out of my skin, Anton was behind me and I hadn't heard a sound.

"Hey." she crooned "Glad to see you made it. Nick said you were traveling with humans."

Her eyes darted to me, I was waiting for her to lick her lips. That would be the final straw.

"Yes, lugging the bags through the underworld wasn't my idea of a good time."

Anton looked at me with a smile and then gestured to the woman.

"Sarah this is Martine Delacroix, the younger sister of the groom. Marty this is Sarah."

"The chicky babe who landed the d man." she chuckled "Well done. I just stopped to tell you that everyone is going to the oak earlier than scheduled."

She pouted and fluttered her eyes at him.

"You aren't going to upset the bride and groom by refusing to go, are you?"

"Of course not."

Marty clapped her hands excitedly and then turned to walk away.

"Half an hour d man, keep it in your pants and hurry up."

Anton closed the door with a pained sigh. He offered a slight smile and then laughed.

"Yes, she's always like that. It might be best that we delay our fun, she will return if we are not on time."

"Oh okay." I said, following him across the room "What's the oak?"

He paused at our bags, shrugging as he began to search through them.

"The oak room, it's like a hall where they all go dancing and feed. Being that the Lancaster's are a dynasty it is more likely that they will retreat to a private room to feed."

"Bags?"

I felt my stomach sink as he shook his head.

"The keep has many live feeders, Sarah, they are all well cared for I promise."

He took my hands with a sincere face.

"Feeders are regarded as the highest of the human species, the vampires practically worship them. To a vampire, there is nothing better than a human that willingly offers their blood. And for this service, they give them so much that you or I could never comprehend it. Money, gifts, there is no limit to what they will do or give to keep them. And always alive, never dead. A vampire that kills a feeder is instantly executed."

My eyes widened with shock.

"Really?" I gasped.

He nodded and pulled something small and black out of the bag.

"Oh dear. I don't remember Rowan buying this."

Anton frowned but it was completely faked. I looked at the leather skirt and grinned, grabbing it from his grip. Then he gasped, pulling out something lace and indecently small.

"Sarah I am shocked. I think you planned to seduce me this weekend."

"I did not pack that."

"And I suppose that you didn't pack this either?"

In his hands were a pair of knee high boots and a corset that was made of purple brocade and black lace.

"No I didn't but I will need help putting it on."

Anton grinned. It was the kind of smile that could drop the most firm fitting panties this world had ever seen. I wanted to lock and barricade the door, keeping Marty and the rest of the place out of here. To cave to him and his ways, submitting to his prowess. But for now, I would have to accept naughty hands and nothing more.

Hi all.

It would seem that this particular part of the book has met with a lot of interesting views on the subject of fertility. I'm not a doctor, obviously but I know what I've been through in my own life to reach that goal of pregnancy and having spent nearly two years of my life traipsing in and out of doctors, hospitals etc., it could be said that perhaps I know a few things about the optimum time to fall pregnant. Having said that, I do like to ensure that things are as accurate as they can be. Below (if it shows you) is Dr Googles image on the fertility cycle. I'm not here to point anyone out as wrong in what they were taught or what they believe to be right. My reason for this is waaaay down the bottom.

In regards to this chapter, and this particular section, the mood is rising fast and their need to push forward in their relationship is growing. Sarah is flustered, she isn't conveying her thoughts well but what she is saying is that she is at the end of her cycle, as in the blue part of Dr Google's picture. If the picture shows up for you, you'll see that it says 0-5% chance of getting pregnant. Which yes, I can understand that anything is possible in this world. We've all got that friend that the minute her partner looks at her the wrong way, she's knocked up. I knew someone that got pregnant while on the pill and using condoms, figure that one out!

Maybe we have different uses for the word cycle throughout the world? I was taught that the cycle began on day one, going through the "cycle" until the end, like the picture. Which that would mean that Sarah's statement was correct. She's at the end of her cycle and it's unlikely to be an issue. If you were taught differently, feel free to pm me, it would be interesting to see how fertility is taught around the world.

We can move onto Anton's return statement where he says, Is that your way of telling me that it's unlikely that you will get pregnant? Please note the . He didn't say won't because he knows that there is always a chance.

My goal with this chapter wasn't a lesson about the body, it was to show that the lust between the two characters would develop dramatically and their concerns about falling pregnant before the change of species were forgotten. She's saying that she's at the end of her cycle which she believes is the least likely time for there to be any issue. Again, this is Sarah's belief, not a statement of fact.

Now onto my concerns about some things. I don't mind people offering their view on the subject because yes, every single body is different. What works for one person, doesn't work for another. Open and engaging conversations and comments are fine, down right rude comments are not. Not everyone has the chance to have a decent education, there are some people in this world who get nothing in the way of insight into this part of their life.

A comment popped up and I wasn't going to say anything but then I thought that I couldn't leave it alone, even though I viewed it as a troll comment. I'm not going to name you but if you do happen to come back, you will know who you are. Wattpad already flagged your comment as inappropriate but I'm going further and deleting it. Maybe you misinterpreted what's been said, maybe it's one of those differences in the meanings of our words but your comments were unnecessary. There were so many better ways to make a statement like the other readers have done. This is a friendly place and I don't tolerate nastiness.

For anyone else that comes here and makes a comment, please be respectful or I will delete your comment too.

So, that's it. Be nice to each other and don't say terrible things to each other. Just because you're hidden behind a computer or a phone, doesn't mean that you have the right to do things that are in reality, a waste of my time and degrading to those the comment is aimed at. We only get one life people, why spend it like this?
