From her upper bedroom window, where she was standing, Little Ava observed the car coming to a halt in front of their mansion. Little Ava fled from her room and dashed over to her older sister's room, Lilith's.

She flung open the door to see her sister laying on the bed, texting with her classmates on her flip phone. When Lilith noticed Ava standing at her bedroom door, she became concerned.

"Ava?! You were warned not to walk into my room without knocking!" Lilith yelled angrily. A teen's clichéd elder sister.

"Please don't enter my room without knocking!" Lilith screamed. The stereotypical older sister of a teen.

"Mary and Beatrice have arrived!" exclaims the narrator. Little Ava returned a happy shout to her sister and exited the room fast.

The little girl dashed down the stairs as quickly as she could, greeting a few maids she encountered in their home's corridor. She'd give them a big smile as she passed by, because she hadn't seen her childhood best friend in a year and they only got to see each other over the summer in their hometown.

Although Ava is ecstatic to see Beatrice, she has always been ecstatic to visit her friend and play with their dog, Daisy. Ava received it as a gift from Beatrice's mother, a small puppy. Little Ava approaches the front door, which swings open to show Beatrice and Mary, who are accompanied by their parents, stepping up to the front door.

Beatrice casts her gaze over the vast space, looking for her best friend, whom she had been looking forward to meeting. Ava.

"Bea!" Little Ava rushed towards the young girl, who spread her arms wide and waited for her to hug her; Ava was giggling so hard before she eventually wrapped her tiny arms around Beatrice.

Because Ava was shorter than Beatrice, it was simpler for her to give delicate kisses on her forehead.

"Take a look! I've got a present for you! Because Mary brought a promise ring for Lilith, Mommy and Mary assisted me in selecting it. As a result, I've brought you this necklace." Little Beatrice told Ava, who grinned as she learned that her pal had a present for her.

Beatrice presented a tiny package containing a necklace with a carved solar emblem. Ava smiled, but the other young girl noticed a look of bewilderment in her eyes.

"I'm a moon," Beatrice said.

I'm not sure why my symbol wasn't the same as yours. How did I end up with the sun?" Ava queried, frowning at the older girl who smiled sweetly at her.

"Because there's a backstory to that! We don't see one other very often, and we only get together once a year over the summer. The moon and the sun only come into contact when one of them awakens from its slumber. You represent the sun because you're a ray of sunshine, and I'm the moon because I'm your nighttime guide and I know how terrified you are in the dark. Even if we don't get to meet and hug, we keep an eye on one other from afar. "Like the moon and the sun, who meet every time one goes down and the other emerges from its obscurity." Beatrice explained to the younger girl.

Little Ava was puzzled, rubbing her head, unable to grasp what Beatrice had just said. Beatrice just chuckled at her because the younger girl was completely flabbergasted, and she couldn't blame her.

"You are the light in my blue skies, Ava!" Beatrice greeted Ava with a smile.

"You're my moon!" exclaims the narrator. Ava replied enthusiastically and hugged Beatrice tightly.

They spent the majority of the day in Ava's playroom, from which they played with dolls and other toys. The children received snacks from their parents' maids.

Lilith and Mary were busy in the yard, sitting by the pool and gossiping about the usual teenage stuff that all teens do after they leave their childhood behind.

When Ava and Beatrice heard a loud barking from outside, they were too enthralled with their toys to notice. When they learned who it was, Beatrice took a quick look at Ava and grinned tremendously.

Daisy, their puppy, was given to both of them as a present because they share the same birthdate. They share the same birthday, but were born in different years.

"Daisy!" Beatrice shouted at the top of her lungs as she dashed out of the room to locate Daisy downstairs, and Ava trailed behind her. The hallway was filled with loud giggling. They run about the home for a while until they spot Daisy running after them, at which point they begin running and playing with their adorable golden retriever puppy.

They finally hurried out of the house and went to the backyard garden, where there is little space and a beautiful view of the mountain from miles away, and the perfect view for sunrise and sunset.

The young girls kept running, both chasing each other and chasing Daisy, who would chase them behind and bark at them. They continued to run around and giggle at one other.

"One day, Beatrice, I'll be able to marry you!" Beatrice, Ava said.

"What do you mean?" Beatrice asked, surprised of what the small child had just said.

"Since I heard Lilith tell Mary that she will marry her one day because they are in love! And because I adore you, Bea, I will marry you!" Ava responded with a broad grin.

"Ava, how is that even possible? To marry me, you must be a man. Alternatively, I must be a male in order to marry you." Beatrice addressed Ava.

"When you truly love someone, Lilith said. You adore them, you adore them, and you view them as someone you'll be with for the rest of your life, and that's me and you! Forever! For the simple reason that I adore you, Bea!" Ava swiftly placed her tiny arms around the taller girl's waist and replied.

The two girls played around the garden with Daisy for a little longer, and a few hours later, little Beatrice fainted on the floor, startling little Ava. Ava began to cry and dashed over to the unconscious little child.

"Mommy! Mommy! Please help, Beatrice! Mommy!" The small girl began to scream, and the terror she felt within was making her more emotional.

Everyone rushed out of the house and dashed to where Ava and Beatrice were hiding. The father quickly grabbed Beatrice and rushed to the car to drive to the nearest hospital.

The tears were still pouring down Ava's cheek as she held her big sister's hand, who was soothing her and massaging her back. "Now, please be quiet... Now, please be quiet "Liltih remarked.

"Is B-Bea going to be okay?" Little Ava inquired, her puppy eyes on her older sister.

"Yes, she'll be alright, little angel. She will come back here and then you two can play again. However, for the time being, be stronger for Beatrice, okay?" Lilith said to the little girl who was calming down after crying.

Years later, the 13-year-old girl sat in her chair, combing her hair, having just finished showering and dressed in something lovely and comfy. She was apprehensive about seeing Beatrice, as though she hadn't seen her since summer vacation.

She peered in the mirror and then heard that familiar small car honk that she hears every time she waits for Beatrice to arrive. Ava leapt from her chair and bolted from her room.

She dashed to the front door, where she re-dressed herself just as the door swung open, allowing Beatrice to peer inside and spot Ava.

Beatrice slammed the door shut and chose to sprint towards Ava, who had both arms outstretched as she ran at Beatrice. Finally, the two are in each other's arms, and quiet laughter can be heard between them.

"I've missed you!" Ava couldn't stop herself from saying it aloud. Beatrice's lips formed a smile in response to the girl's abrupt disclosure.

"Little moon, I've missed you as well." They were still cuddling and Beatrice was gently massaging Ava's back.

Ava greeted Mary and her parents, as well as Beatrice's, after a little conversation downstairs. Ava and Beatrice dashed to Ava's room, where they caught up on the topics they had been meaning to discuss.

Following that day, they ate lunch and were unable to go outside due to the heavy rain. Beatrice sat comfortably on the couch while listening to the heavy rain, the thunder roaring loudly in the sky, and the rain pouring down. Beatrice inhaled deeply.

Ava smiled as she stared at Beatrice, who had turned her gaze in her direction. Beatrice smiled, her eyes tenderly looking at her. Beatrice's eyes were only focused on what Ava was doing as she walked over to her buddy and sat alongside her. Beatrice drew her buddy to her, observing her small characteristics while nibbling her thumb.

"Are we cuddling?" Ava questioned, the joy in the small girl's eyes too evident for Beatrice to miss.

Beatrice said, "Yep! I miss doing that, so let's do it!" Ava lay her head on Beatrice's breast, Beatrice's right arm massaging Ava's arm. Tracing circles in a gentle manner.

"I'd want to play in the rain." Ava suddenly burst out laughing.

"What? We're fine here cuddling, unless you want to go outside and play in the rain, which your mother wouldn't mind?" Beatrice inquired.

"Oh, I'm sure they'll get along just fine! And, to be honest, I don't believe they'd mind. Let's get this party started! When was the last time you went outside and played in the rain?" Ava retorted.

After a few seconds of looking at her best friend, Beatrice grinned broadly at Ava and pushed her out of the living room, sprinting to the garden and out of the house.

Ava snickered as she followed her best friend, who was already drenched. Ava dashed towards Beatrice, and the two played as they used to when they were little.

They run around, spin, and dance despite the fact that there is no music playing in their thoughts. Beatrice and Ava swirl about with their hands intertwined till they become dizzy and tumble down on the wet grass.

"The necklace is still on your neck." Beatrice noticed the necklace she had brought for her as she spoke.

"Yes! I told you I was keeping this." Ava retorted.

"What about the bit about getting married? Are you planning to marry me any time soon?" Beatrice asked.

Ava was taken aback by Beatrice's abrupt statements, but she did recall Beatrice mentioning a memory of her promising that she would marry Beatrice one day.

"I suppose sooner or later." Ava retorted.

"I'm joking, Ava. I knew you'd end up marrying a man who would offer you the world one day." Beatrice said, her gaze fixed on Ava.

Even though the rain was pouring down heavily, Ava seemed unfazed. She could tell there was something in Beatrice's eyes, but she opted not to say it.

"And you, too, Bea, will find a man who will adore you." Ava remarked.

"That is something I seriously doubt. As you can see, Ava... I..." Beatrice took a breath and paused. She wanted to tell her best friend something, but she couldn't; she couldn't tell her that one thing.

Beatrice began to feel strange, and she returned her gaze to Ava, who was looking at her with a suspicious expression. Her head began to spin, and her vision began to blur. Beatrice couldn't help but notice that she was starting to lose her equilibrium as she was about to pass out on the ground.

Her legs began to tremble, and her knees became weaker, forcing her to kneel on the moist grass. Ava shouted her name, and she swiftly approached Beatrice, who was fighting to stand.

"Bea? What's the matter?!" Ava asked, concerned of the older girl.

Beatrice didn't say anything since she was trying to avoid passing out. She returned her focus to Ava and clutched her hand, eventually losing her balance and falling down, with Ava ensuring Beatrice didn't strike her head on the ground.

She screamed for help when she saw her best friend was unconscious and needed to be taken to the hospital right away. Ava dashed back inside the house, where she was greeted by her older sister and Mary.

"Lilith! Mary! Please help me! Beatrice balcked out, and I'm at a loss for what to do!" Ava screamed frustrated at her sister.

"I'll call Mrs. Hansen, and you bring Beatrice back here." Lilith said to Mary and Ava who immediately dashed outdoors to rescue Beatrice out of the rain.

Everyone was alarmed, so her father started the car and the others helped in carrying Beatrice inside. Ava insisted on accompanying Mr. and Mrs. Hansen because she wanted to be present when Beatrice awoke.

The entire journey Ava was crying uncontrollably, tears streaming down her face. She held Beatrice's hand the entire ride, despite the fact that she was drenched and unable to change.

They arrived at the hospital, and she was confined a few minutes later, with doctors speaking with her parents as Ava stayed and watched her best friend sleep.

She still have no idea what was wrong with her, and her parents didn't want to tell her about it. So Ava just stood there and watched Beatrice sleep peacefully. Ava got out of her seat and approached Beatrice, leaning in just a few inches from her face.

"You can't condemn me just yet. I still need you." Ava muttered and softly kissed Beatrice on the forehead, a single tear falling from her cheek, which Ava tenderly brushed away from Beatrice's face. Ava then had to go home, so she approached the door and turned around one final time to gaze at Beatrice before exiting the room and heading home.
