A lot of humans in this world don't believe in the supernatural or fairy tales, while others do.

Some have claimed to seen many creatures or evidence that they exist... but they're put off as crazy or insane... maybe even the words childish.

But they're real... they can choose to show themselves if they really wanted.

Just like off the coast of South Korea, little girls and boys beg their parents to take them to the beach to meet the pink princess.

The parents think the children make up little stories amongst themselves and find it cute!

But how would they react when they realize the children talk to a beautiful mermaid who really was a pink princess?

Her skin was pretty light pink when the sun reflected off of her, she had long black hair, and a shiny blue tail that matched the serene waters.

She wore light makeup and a necklace made from sea vines with pearls and shells attached to it. The children admired how beautiful she was and loved the time when she would play in the water with them.

She wasn't invisible to the adults but only the ones who truly believed mermaids were real could see and speak to her. Her name was Vanora, princess of Britia and daughter of.... you guessed it? Poseidon!

The kids were all ready to meet the pink princess, as it was story day and they loved her many adventures to tell!

The little kids, about 8 of them ranging from 6 to 9, ran out the van to the beach. The parents were worried about losing them since a guard was on standby and the beach wasn't that small but very beautiful. It was named Mystique Shore, famous for its mystery of sea creatures coming onto land then back into water.

People would call it their 'bridge' between land and sea, while other thought it was some vocal bridge for humans to speak to them.

"Kids be careful okay!" The groups mother said as the kids nodded, the 4 girls and 4 boys quickly ran to the edge of the shore. They dug a bit then put some shells in the dug out, it was where the princess would swim up and meet them. She could be closer to be touched and still get water on her tail.

"I hope miss Vanora comes! I can't wait for another story!" One kid says who wore glasses made for his head, a young girl nodded "Maybe another small war happened with the squids again!" They all giggled...

if only they knew what happened these past few months they were gone... things weren't exactly the life for Vanora.

I took a few deep breaths, the water coming through my gills relaxed me as I reached the water's edge. I did a flip above the water to alert the children I was near, I could hear their cheers as I got closer. I naturally let the water push me into their dug out, the kids clapped and greeted me. "Hey Vanora! We missed you! Did a squid fight happen?! Was there ink?"

I chuckled at their silly questions, I laid my chin on my perched up hands, my tail flapping as the water splashed to my back. "Vanora hasn't been... so good lately children" they gasped, for their age they were smarter than most. Especially to be talking to however old mermaid from the depths of the undiscovered ocean.

"What happened princess?" My favorite asked, she was the 1st one to spot me stuck in a fish line. She was small but so brave to come help... she visited me everyday of that summer to check on me. "Some things happened... another war but much larger happened" they all sat comfortably as I began to speak.

"This story is a bit different... a lot worse than the ones I usually bring up children... so listen carefully..."

I swam through the waters as fast as I could, the distasteful smell of rotted fish guts behind me. I swam through a group of fish making sure to apologizing since the teacher almost puffed up on my tail.

I saw the large castle coming into my view, I knew I was about to get a gill full of crap from my dad. Once I entered the doors, a loud boom made the water vibrate around me "Vanora! Where have you been?!" I looked up to see the giant merman of my dad swim through the top of the castle. He was a very powerful god so he didn't stay in the city of Britia like the rest of us, he was in the city of the sky.

"Father... I just went for a casual swim!" Suddenly the putrid smell came closer and I coughed "Lies... I caught her swimming past my coven again!" I glared at Jungkook and his 8 tentacles. I felt the urge to grab one and not it... maybe even make a seafood joke on it. "Vanora... tell me where you were headed!" My dad already had bass in his voice but once he was angry, it became too overbearing.

Jungkook had his arms crossed proudly floating next to me, his tentacle smacked my back to speak "He's waiting!" I looked at my dad who didn't seem a bit of happy. "I just went swimming! Nothing wrong with working my tail and gills out!" He scoffed at my excuse "You were supposed to be in fish class! Those are very important as you are a princess.. and stop mocking my words!"

I immediately straightened back up, I had to hear the same words every time from my father. He kept reminding me to take fish classes... you humans may think I mean school but with us fish kind.

No as a princess I took classes on how to be a great queen... meaning help to lead my future husband, be beautiful 25/8, always look happy, be a great wife and mother blah blah. It was tiring so some days I would break out and swim around... until Jungkook decided it was 'stretch his tentacles' day. I was caught and chased back to the kingdom... I would've ignored him till he threatened to squirt me with ink!

"Dad... I don't need those classes! I'm fine as I am... who said I wanted to be queen anyway" everyone gasped, even my mother who swam in with her light green tail that faded into a light blue like mine. "Vanora sweetie... you won't win the fight this time. You have to be ready before this marriage! The prince of..." I lifted my hand and shook my head.

I was even more sick of hearing of this marriage, my parents (without my permission) decided to find some merman prince of another castle and force us together. My dad claimed he was strong, smart, great in battles, and the was the perfect to be a king of our own nation. It all bores me... why can't I just be a regular mermaid... just swim around and be with friends!

"Mom... I'd rather marry Jungkook and his 8 named slimy tentacles over some bastard I don't know!" She sighed but my dad sent another book through the oceans. The humans were definitely about to experience a thunderstorm... might some flood warnings in the next hour.

"Don't you dare call him a bastard! Plus the mix of a mermaid and any other creature is forbidden... unless it's a daring human!" Of course that wouldn't happen, all my human friends were children. They came to hear my stories then left with their families when the sky darkened. I'd swim alone back to my castle and cry myself to sleep again and again.

I'd do classes, speak to random people I didn't care for, then try my hardest to see my other sea friends but... eventually get chased home by octo-kook. "It's not my fault you're forcing me to marry someone I don't know!" I swam away to my room that was a bit under sea level, I grabbed my comb and soothingly stroked my hair.

The same smell came back and Jungkook peeked in with a worried look "Sorry Van... but I couldn't let you pass this time or Poseidon would've served fried tentacles by now!" I softly smiled, my eyes going to the necklace with a shark tooth at the end. A cute little heart carved into it.

"Our anniversary is coming up... I wish I could spend it with him again..." Jungkook sighed at the door, he looked around then back to me "Listen... I can get you out tonight but we have to be careful! And yes I'll make sure my tentacles are soaked!" He slammed the door as I laughed. I stroked the necklace with a tiny smile "I'll be with you my lonely whalien.."

Later that night Jungkook sent waves towards me, I gasped and got out my bed to use the secret hatch to reach out the castle. I swam past guards toward Jk who smelled more fresh "Ahh... you finally don't reek of ink and tar" he grunted and began swimming.

"Let's be quick! This isn't a close swim.." I rolled my eyes and followed him, we soon passed his coven then went into the deeper parts of the water. I could hear the noises of the pod above us, the giant whales swimming together to hunt.

"Welcome to good ole Tethlune... home of the whales" Jungkook sarcastically says as we swim into the zone where the large creatures great us automatically. We swim through the aquatic land that's larger than ours mainly cause this homes larger sea creatures. I spot the cave that has a very dim light coming from it, I carefully swim into it as Jk shortly follows behind. "Make sure this is quick or I'll send a warning shot!" I ignored Jungkook's threat and swam quicker into the cave.

I slowed down when I spotted the creature, they had the upper body of a human with the pale ish blue skin with a darker grey hair color. Their tail was like a mermaid but bigger, the tale outstretched like a whales. It was dark blue with some white sprinkled around it like paint was thrown there, I crept up the pale man who was softly snoozing away.

I felt a smile appear on my face as I rubbed their cheeks, their plump lips slightly opened, and their lashes fluttered he woke up. He looked at me with a grunt.... after processing who I was he jumped up and grabbed me "Ahh! Hehehe Yoongi stop twirling before we create a whirlpool!" He stopped with a shy smile on his face. I reached into the 'pocket' of my tail and brought out a necklace to match the one of my neck.

It was mainly white with pearls I collected from the sea floor "This is for you..." he turned to let me twist the necklace on, it fit ever so perfectly. He went down beneath his bed and came back with his hands balled up I closed them as I felt my hand being grabbed. Something slid onto my ring finger so I opened my eyes to see a ring of pink and blue swirled together.

I was gonna compliment how cute that sounded until his next statement. my heart stopped beating for a few moments, he was right. Me being a mermaid and him a whale would cause a huge war... they couldn't accept the fact we just wanted love.

And by they... I meant my family. With regular people, we would just be considered outcasts but since I'm a royal it's completely different and more strict. "I love it so much Yoongi! Happy anniversary my cute whale" he blushed as he hugged me "Happy anniversary my little mermaid"

We both busted out laughing and ended it with a little kiss, as we started to talk I could hear someone clearing their throat. "Vanora it's time to go! The sun will be shining over us in an hour!" I sighed deeply as I looked at Yoongi, he wouldn't show it but I knew he was upset over our situation. "I'm sorry Yoongi... my dad found out I tried to sneak away... he's gotten more strict on me"

He kissed my knuckles and nodded he was right. His parents didn't care I was a mermaid, they were just happy their son found someone to love and be himself around. I kissed him once more and swam out his cave, I just couldn't look back or I would hate the sight.

Me and Jungkook swam back to the castle quietly, he made sure I entered my room before swimming back to his own cove. I laid on my bed as I played with the ends of my hair... I was in deep thought about why I had to go through all this. My door opened and my mom swam in "Good morning honey! Classes were cancelled so we can swim around Britia or to the other kingdom!" I didn't respond, I just kept looking forward.

She sighed and saw closer to me "Sweetie... let's swim! We don't need your tail getting stuck again... that experience was terrible enough" she cringed at when I went on a strike to not swim for a week. This was when they found out I made friends with a shark, they may have been a predator but they were super sweet... and clumsy.

They had forgiven me but I can only visit Namjoon in public waters or when Jungkook is with me. My mom pulled me up and gripped my shoulders "Why are you sulking? Did you break your shell comb again?" I blinked slowly but shook my head "Nothing mom... I just want to be alone for today." I removed myself from her and laid back down but faced the wall.

She sighed again and sat behind me "It's about that boy again am I right?" I stayed quiet, she took that as a yes. "Look Vanora... I'm not doing this to hurt you! I even went through the same thing as you once..." I turned to look back at her with shock. She smiled sadly "He was a siren... you'd think it would be okay but.. your mother is a royal. It had to be the most perfect royal merman or be casted away!"

She looked down as tears filled her eyes "I tried to choose the cast away but as an only child that didn't go as easy... they eventually made me watch sharks tear him apart.. the rogue ones not the safe ones you like!" I could see a tear drop down her cheek, this really affected her. "Your father has been with many people... almost like one his duties to produce more Gods and Goddesses"

She rubbed at her neck and pulled up a necklace that was the exact same color as hers "He gave me this just a day before they killed him... I always promised to wear this until we meet again" I rubbed at my necklace that Yoongi gave me, would I go through the same as mom? Sharks were pretty tough but the whales were pretty fierce and large.

"Your dad... he only hates whales cause his enemy swallowed his mother by accident! They tried to save her but she was so scared she choked on some stored food... it wasn't the whales fault but he didn't listen" I carefully listened to mom speak, she reached for my hands "If this wasn't happening I'd help you be with him... but I have no choice but to get you married" I shook my head as the tears finally fell down my cheeks.

"No mom please! I love him too much... I just can't marry some stranger and forget Yoongi! I just can't mom!" She hugged me tightly, trying her best to comfort me but it barely worked. "The wedding is in 4 months... you can't be seen with the boy or your dad will do something unremarkable and start a war on his family!" She was right, but it was just too hard to let the person I love go.

She kissed my forehead and began to leave "I'm sorry it has to be this way... I wished I was brave enough to escape when I was younger" she closed the door behind her and I cried into my pillow. The ring on my finger gave me a feel of Yoongi's presence but it wasn't enough to feel his arms around me. "I'm sorry Yoongi... I'm so so sorry!" I had cried my eyes out so much that I fell into a deep slumber.

I sat at the golden table of my family and the family of this arrogant prince, they were golden and beautiful. The queen barely spoke... only when the king told her too... just like the little princesses.

It hurt my chest seeing them being told what to do and how to do it, meanwhile the king and prince acted like this was a total norm. "Ah yes! We make sure to train our women to be submissive to their husbands! It's our culture in these waters" I poked at my food since I lost my appetite many moons ago, the prince next to me wouldn't stop touching my tail with his.

"Don't you think gold and blue run well together? It'll be perfect don't you say!" I was beginning to talk but he glared at me "Shh! You're too cute to be speaking right now" I felt the urge to bite his finger but I did a fake smile. The entire dinner I didn't get a chance to speak, just had to listen to whatever the king and prince said. Even my mother was growing agitated but my father gave signs on us to not get angry.

For this entire month we had to live with them.. only cause of how close the wedding was getting. Sadly they made it on the day of me and Yoongi's anniversary... I wouldn't get the chance to see him.

Sitting in the new room I felt so out of place, the maids constantly brought up how pretty the wedding would be and how gorgeous our future children would look. I tried my hardest to ignore them but they just kept yapping away while painting my nails "Can I please have some quiet! Alone.." they finished up and left quickly.

I tried swimming to the window but it just faced the empty waters... somewhere out there was my lonely whale... all alone without me. I tried sending vibrations to call Jungkook but we were too far... he wouldn't receive a ripple or anything.

I was stuck... having to be married and not getting the chance to actually be happy or in love anymore. The door opened, it was the princess mother "I hope you're ready! And sweetie I saw how upset you are... just let him make you happy and experience new things for once Hmm?" She smiled brightly and exited out, those words didn't mean shit to me anymore. I'll be damned if I be happy with some stuck up golden fish that just wants to control me into his toy!

I waited till everyone was sleep and snuck out from my balcony, I swam as quick as I could to get away from these people... I had to see Yoongi one last time. It felt like a hour of extreme swimming as I seen the hunting whales above me, I used my last bit of force to reach the cave.

"Yoongi?! It's me.." when I entered Yoongi was styling his hair, he turned to see me and smiled hard... then it faded. "What's wrong baby? I swam so far to reach you! I need to warn.." he stopped me I turned around and gasped loudly, right behind me was the prince who looked visibly angry. "Tuh! You were in love with this blubber boy?! Haha" he laughed loudly as Yoongi swam close to me.
