The Only One
Chapter Two
I went to bed thinking about her and now I'm waking up thinking about her. She's absolutely consuming me!
And it's true, I WAS happy because of her; everything was perfect...because of her.
I hope that I'll get to see her again. I mean, we're in California a lot, and we have the next 5 days off which we're spending in Cali. I have to see her again.
I look down at my phone to see if there are any twitter updates on her, not that I'm a stalker or anything.
There are about a million tweets saying how awesome our concert was, and how great it was to meet us. Great to meet us? What about great to meet her?!
I retweet one tweet, and reply to another saying it was great to meet her too.
I'm staring at her profile picture, the one me and her, as Jamie walks into the room asking what's up.
I don't answer right away because I don't actually hear him, and then he starts waving his hand in front of my eyes.
"What, Jamie?" I almost seem to snap.
"Whoa, dude. Chill."
"Sorry," I say. "What's up?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to remind you, we're going to Santa Monica today, and you're expected to come with us." He says.
"Oh, right, I almost forgot."
"What's up with you lately? Ever since last night you've been having trouble focusing and everything. What happened at the show?" Jamie asks.
"Nothing happened." I say and shake my head, although he just gives me a look saying, 'Do you honestly think I'm that stupid?' I just give him an innocent look back and shrug.
"Seriously, RK."
"Seriously, Jamie."
"I'm not as stupid as you peg me to be, mister. Just because I'm your younger brother doesn't make me stupid."

"I never said you were stupid, Jamie." I say.
"Ryan. Just tell me."
"I already did, Jamie."
"No you didn't." He says and I just give him a blank stare. "Okay, I've got this. It's a girl. Omg it's Hanna! I know its Hanna. You like her." He says, and snaps his finger and points at me with a cocky grin on his face.
How in the heck does he know this?! I don't exactly want to tell him that's the truth, but I also don't deny it. We all made a pact that we wouldn't date fans. Urrrgh.
"Okay, so it is." Jamie confirms. "So what're you going to do about it?"
"I don't know, Jamie!" I say in defeat.
"Tweet her! Call her! Make a tribute to her! Talk about her in a SocialCam! I don't know, do something! You're miserable, dude."
"I know, but we made that pact that we wouldn't date fans..."
"Yup, so we just don't tell Ian and Nash. Problem solved."
"Jame, Ian finds out everything. And Nash... Well, he finds out stuff from the media."
"Yeah, well, we're going to have to change that."
"Jamie, I don't want her to think I'm being pushy."
"Pushy?! She'll be flattered! You're...you! And she was totally into you last night!"
Pft. She was not. "No way."
"Uh, yeah way!" Jamie says, as Ian walks into the room.
"Yeah way, what?" He asks.
"Yeah way, we're going to Santa Monica." Jamie answers quickly, and trying not to sound suspicious.
"Okay...?" He squints his eyes, as if he knows we're lying. "Okay... Well, we're leaving in an hour or so, so what you need to do." He says, and leaves the room, shaking his head, thinking we're crazy.

"You clear on what you need to do?" Jamie asks.
"Yeah." I answer, as he leaves the room, leaving me to shower and get ready. I put on my American flag tank, and ripped jeans. I just hope I see her there. She made everything last night feel...right. It was perfect. That concert was perfect. And I never even thought of...Monica last night. I really think that I'll be okay, and Monica really is gone from my life, for good.

The Elemental Arena
*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.

... And My Skillet
A long time ago, a child was born under the great blue sky. Many a Dwarf grumbled at the auspicious event, tugging furtively at their beards at this ill omen. A year later as the expedition had begun digging into the virgin hills of their new home, the grumbling of the doughty mountain people rose to a disbelieving furor when the yearling passed over the ritual offerings that would determine his lot in life. Instead, the as of yet unnamed child crawled over to a skillet fresh out of the fire and begun picking at the rock bread, unconcerned with the heat. Shouts turned into laughter, frowns lifted into craggy smiles. Upon placing a handful of the bread into his mouth, the infant’s face grew so grim and stony not even the eldest of the present Dwarves could match him. There was a durable ore within this babe, of that the Lore Keeper was sure. Yumly Ironhand was thus named, the beginning of his great tale immortalized on the rune walls of his clan’s history. “It’s pronounced Yoom Lee and no, rock bread isn’t a misnomer.”

The Hopeful Project
A pair of twins stumble their way into the world of blood magic, lizard people, and cultivation powered mecha-armor. And by stumble, I mean one of them falls on their face while the other laughs. [Writathon Participant] People read this far? What are you doing down here? Escape! The chapter buttons are over there, stop reading this. No? Fine. This book is an excuse to put a world I spent around 3-4 months of my life building over the pandemic into writing. I was planning on doing the writathon last year, but somehow managed to confuse October and November. Dont laugh, I'm already ashamed enough. This book is about a pair of twins, doing twin things: calling each other names, going to school, learning how to use their blood to become unstoppable, juggernaut, killing machines... You know, twin stuff. It's like if someone stuffed a school arc inside of a tournament arc inside of a war arc. A good time, basically. I hope you enjoy it.
