I woke up to wake felt like seconds later, but as it turns out it was exactly two hours. I wasnt even in the place where I had blacked out. I was in a room which surrounded me with beeping sounds, and people standing and talking out side of the room. I couldnt quite make out what they were saying.
"Ryan?" I looked over to the side of the bed to see my dad, Jamie and Nash there. I blinked a few times before coughing.
"Where's Megan?" My throat hurt really badly. It felt like needles were stuck in it everywhere.
"Shh, son. It's okay! Megan's fine. She's being looked at right now."
Looked at? Did something happen to her? I sat up quickly but only to be pushed gently back down.
"Is she okay?!" I asked. The worry in my voice was clear, even to me.
"She's fine! Just needs a stitch on her head." Okay, I'm not normally one to be all panicked and what not but i couldnt help it.
"Stitches?!"
"Just one!" Nash said. "It was a small cut, but deep enough to need stitches. You on the other hand have several broken ribs, and a fractured shoulder. What in the name of Sam happened to you guys?"
"Uhm.. Well, we were leaving Olive Garden and Megan stopped, grabbed my hand and turned the other way. She said her sister Liz was there along with some guy named Jake. We walked for a bit but they caught up to us. They wanted her to go home and she said no. Liz grabbed my shirt and slammed me into a car.. But that's all I remember.."
"Liz must be violent." Jamie said. Oh you think captain obvious? I nodded before rubbing my face with my arm that didnt hurt and sighed. I couldnt help but to feel a tad bit guilty over what had happened. I mean, maybe if I didnt pass out she wouldnt have gotten hurt. Maybe If I had just stayed awake, I could've helped her. Maybe.. Just maybe.
I took a deep breath in before sitting up, slowly this time so I wasnt pushed back down. My arm was in one of those sling things which, by the way, if you've ever had to wear one they are definitely not comfortable. I let out a quiet huff before figuring my whole chest cavity was wrapped tightly. I let out a slight groan before whining.
"Daddddd!" I said.
"What?"
"It hurts!" I frowned. "This stupid tape. It's cutting into my skin, I know it."
"Ryan," He said softly. "You gotta get used to it, son. Once you get used to it, it'll get better." I frowned even bigger before sinking in the bed. He's supposed to be on my side, not the tape's side. Not that the tape had a choice in this, but if they did I know they'd be purposefully causing me pain. I looked down at my stomach and frowned a bit. I needed to start working out again. And by the looks of my stomach, badly. I took a deep breath in and exhaled heavily.

"Hey Ryan!" My mother's voice came into the room. She walked in with Julianna and Ian following after her.
"Ryan?! Are you okay bubba?" Julianna asked.
"I'm fine, Anna." I smiled. "Just sore."
"Good!" She said nodding. I smiled as she and my mom took a seat then looked at Ian.
"So," He said with a smirk. "Was the date just that bad that the both of you needed to end up in the hospital?"
I let out a slight laugh before shrugging my shoulders up.
"I didnt think so!" I chuckled out. Ian smiled before walking over to the side of the bed.
"How exactly was the date, Ryan? Ehh? We want details!!"
"You guys didnt spy on us?" I asked raising my eyebrows slightly.
"Pfft.. No! We thought about it, but didnt do anything until Megan called and told us she needed help getting you to the hospital. So, how was the date I ask again?"
I laughed before smiling.
"The date was actually really amazing. It really was. We had a good time."
"Good!" Ian said nodding. "Are you gunna go out again"
"Ian?"
"Yes?"
"Are we playing 24 questions?" I laughed. Ian nodded quickly then laughed and patted my nonhurt shoulder.
An hour or so went by really quickly. I guess that saying was true, 'time flies when you're having a good time'. Nash had left with Ian to go get everyone food. Mom, dad, and Julianna went home. I was left alone in a room with Ian. And honestly? That wasnt a good combination sometimes. Like, if you leave Nash alone in a room with Jamie. Nothing good ever happens. But luckily, Ian was asleep. I still hadnt seen Megan. Honestly? I was kind of worried about her. I sat up slowly and quietly then hung my feet off of the bed and slid until they both hit the ground. I pushed myself up off of the bed and walked out of the room. I sighed happily because of the fact the doctors had only removed my shirt, and didnt dress my in that horrible gown. The hallway wasnt busy. There were a lot of nurses, and maintenance running around. I weaved around a large bucket full of supplies and walked up to the nurses station. The nurse was on her cell phone chatting away with a girl named Tracy.
"I know! Tracy! Gurl! Gur, I know. You aint gotta tell me twice!" I blinked a bit at the ghettoness in her voice. Sometimes I really wondered about the mental health of people in Tennessee. I cleared my throat in hopes to get her attention.
"Tracy! He is a two timing, son of a gun with 24 kids! Wutchu want wid a guy like dat anyways?" she popped her gum a bit then crossed her legs.
24 kids. Holy crap, someone must be busy. I scratched my head a bit and cleared my throat a bit more loudly.
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"Tracy. He prolly aint even good in bed, girl. Dont even worry about it! Tracy. GIRL. You need to--"
"EXCUSE ME." I yelled. The nurse finally looked up at me and rolled her eyes.

"Gotta go. Some guy wid tattoos and shit is demanding attention. I call you back, okay? Okay. Bye gur." She put the phone down and got up. "Wutchu want sir?"
I blinked a bit as my eyebrows raised. "Uhm.. I wanted to know where another patient was located. Megan Mace? Do you know where she is?"
"Yeah, I know. Wutchu want wid her?" Her voice got more ghetto and more annoyed by the second. I opened my mouth slightly. She cut me off.
"Don' even. I know wut boys like you want."
"Huh?" I asked confused. My head tilted to the side a bit before she walked around the desk to face.
"All chu want is a good girl to get in bed." She shrugged. "Thats all you want! You dont want a committed relationship. Noooo."
"Excuse me but, do you mind just telling me where Megan is? Please?"
She rolled her eyes and popped her gum.
"Again I ask, wutchu want wid her?"
"I just wanna make sure she's okay. Honestly."
"Did you hit her?"
"No?"
"Did you punch her?"
"No."
Her lips puckered out and she looked at me with a questioning eye. I looked at her name badge. Shanaynay was printed on it. I raised my eyebrows a bit then looked at her.
"Did you get her pregnant and have someone else punch her for you?"
"No! Listen, Shanaynay-"
"No, it's pronounced lke ShanayAYanay."
"Okay.. Shanayaynay. Can you just tell me where Megan is?"
"Ryan?" Megan's voice asked. I looked over at a doorway and saw her standing in it with a smile. I smiled back and sighed a sigh of relief. I pushed myself away from the counter and started to walk over to her.
"Aye Ryan!" The nursed called. I turned around to look at her. "You single? Cause you is one fine piece of" She asked. I widened my eyes then creased my eyebrows together and laughed a bit. I turned back around on my heels and walked over to Megan. She had a bandage on her head, and a bruise on her cheek. I instantly wrapped my arm around her and pulled her into a tight hug.
"Are you okay?" I asked. She nodded as her arms wrapped around my waist.
"I'm okay. I'm more worried about you! Are you?" She pulled back and looked at my slig then my wrapped rib cage. A frown grew upon her face but I lifted her chin up to look at me.
"I'm okay knowing you're okay. What happened after I blacked out?" I walked into her room with her. She sat down on her bed and I sat in the recliner next to the bed. She turned to face me and sat Indian style.
"Well," She started. "After you blacked out, Liz tried to drag me away. She said to leave you because you were going to leave me sooner or later which I dont believe. She said I needed to come home and help Lucy. I told you about Lucy, right? My evil stepmother who is out to get me?" I nodded slowly and kept listening to her.
"Then Jake came over and said he was sorry for what had happened at his party, and for dating Hannah. He said he didnt mean any of it, that he was just trying to get me jealous. I told him I didnt like him like that and that I liked someone else. He didnt like that very much and grabbed me by my waist, and kissed me. Smack down on the lips. And it wasnt one of those hey I like you do you like me as well kisses. No, it was one of those kisses that just hurt. I pulled away quickly and connected my hand with his face, making a loud popping noise. I told him I wasnt a stepping stool he could just walk over. Liz didnt like that and well.." She pointed to the bruise on her face. "Smacked me."
I frowned a bit more then looked at her. She looked back at me and grinned.
"But i didnt care," She continued. "I was more worried about you. Some guys came over a few moments later and made Liz and Jake walk away. But they said this wasnt the end before the car they were in drove away. That's when I called Ian and told him what happened."
"But you're okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She smiled back. "Like I said, more worried about you."
I couldnt help but to smile and gently take her hand in mine. I know it's only been a week since I've known her, but it's honestly felt like seven years. In the week I've known her, I've fallen in love and I've never fallen for someone like this before. It wasnt even a choice, it was more of me just... Falling, you know? She was just so nice, so welcoming, so sweet. She was everything I've always wanted in a girl. I think the guys figured out I liked her by the way they act around us. Embarrassing me, and her at the same time. I didnt mind, but I couldnt help but to wonder if she liked me back. And if she did if she liked me or me or because I'm Ryan Follese'. She wrapped her hand around mine and pulled me to get up. I got up slowly and walked over to her. She wrapped her arms around my neck slowly and pulled me closer to her. I stopped about two inches from her face and swallowed. I looked into her eyes and she looked back at me. I could smell the lemonade on her mouth from dinner, and I feel her breath on my lips. I leaned in a bit. Her breath caught in her throat, and so did mine. A knock at the door caused us both to jump back quickly and look at the door.
"Food's here!... Was I interrupting something?" Jamie asked. I rolled my eyes a bit then sat down in my chair completely flushed.
I had almost just kissed Megan. And she didnt try to stop me.
