"she follows deuxmoi on instagram." was the answer he got.

"okay, and? what the hell does that got to do with anything?" he said indignantly. he knew what deuxmoi was of course, but he barely checked it.

"well yeah, but i don't keep up with it!"

"timmy. why don't you ask her yourself?"

"she didn't tell me she was sick when she knew we had a scene today! if we can't interact professionally then how the hell could i even ask that?"

timothée wasn't even mad about the fact that the tip was true. he just wanted to know why haley cared so much. he'd gotten tired of being alone and tried to go out with someone new because it looked like haley was doing fine without him, so he'd met up with some distant friend of his wonka costar named paige. she was middle eastern and actually was friends with bella veluz growing up, but according to her, the two didn't talk anymore. they had a couple dates which didn't work out, but the two still kept in touch.

"why does she care?" he asked, quietly.

"i don't know with her, honestly. it's so confusing."

"tell me about it. does she remember what happened at all?" he asked heatedly. "i didn't ask for any of this."

"i know you didn't." she said sharply. "i don't know what she wants, really. i'm not taking sides here, but what she's doing to you isn't fair."

"thank you! it's like she forgot she was the one who broke up with me outta nowhere." he scoffed.

"i'm sure she didn't." rora said. she could say that for sure, because she knew that the regret always lingered at the back of haley's mind. her heart was breaking for her two friends, and it hurt her to see the two of them like this; distant, and foreign, as if they weren't completely in love just a year earlier.

"but," she added, "i do know that she's been sick for a couple days now, probably exposed to some barista last week when the storm hit."
