《The Bad Boy Is A Virgin》Extended Epilogue: Chapter 4

"Mom? Dad?" Hunter's hand rests gently against the small of my back as he moves me into his house.

"Hunter dear, you're home!" His mother appears from the kitchen with a wide smile, "And look at you Em, you're simply glowing."

"Ha. Well, what can I say?" I give a her a smile before I hug her. "My family should be here soon enough. All four of them."

"Well we definitely don't have a small family do we, dear?" June smiles at me and wraps an arm around her husband's wait.

"Son, you're looking good. And you, Emilia, you are looking absolutely radiant." I smile back at John and give him a quick hug, "My son must know what he's doing."

My cheeks instantly redden and when I look over at Hunter, he looks worse.

"Dad." He groans.

"Dad." I hear another voice mocking Hunt and turn to see Jude and Cath enter the sitting room.

"Hey big man. How you doing?" Hunt ruffles Jude's still curly mop of hair.

"Jude has a girlfriend." Cath states with her arms crossed before plonking herself next to me.

Being pregnant makes you tired. Being pregnant and standing is even worse, which is why I often have to sit.

"What?" Four different voices ask at the same time as we all turn to look at Jude.

He's glaring at Cath who has the sneaky smirk of the usual nine year old who possibly just got her brother into trouble.

There's silence for a while until John walks up to his son and high fives him, "I now have no doubt that you are my son!"

"John!"

"Dad!"

"Make it stop!"

I'm staring wide eyed at the family I joined by name and heart. I can't help the smile that creeps onto my face.

"Jude, you've just turned sixteen. Is this what you want?" June stands in front of him like she used to when he was older.

"I really do like her, mom." He shrugs and tries to play it off but there's something in his eyes that reminds me of how Hunter looks at me.

"Just don't do anything dumb please." John gives Jude a slight nudge before wrapping an arm around him in a hug.

"So I can start dating too if this is the reaction in the family?" The sweet father-son moment is abruptly stopped by Cath and all heads turn to her.

"Darling, you're nine." June looks at her daughter slightly horrified.

"But I'm turning ten soon."

I can't help laugh at her and shortly after the rest of the family joins in, even Cath who I think realizes how ridiculous she just sounded and how serious Jude is about his mystery girl.

There's a knock at the door which I get up to answer and find Jade, my dad, Hannah and my mom all greeting me with a smile.

June's behind me and she instantly ushers my family in. Once everyone is sitting comfortably with a drink in their hand and a plate of snacks in their lap, I give Hunt a look which he returns with a nod.

The room's been filled with chatter all along but when Hunter clears his throat and starts to speak everyone keeps quiet and watches him expectantly.

"Em and I brought something we thought you all might want to see..."

"A puppy!" Hannah exclaims with such joy in her eyes.

"Unfortunately not a puppy, little sis, but I've been trying to convince Hunt to adopt one." I run my hand softly over her hair and she smiles up at me.

Hunter places a large book on the table in the room which everyone quickly surrounds. My dad stares at me for an answer but I simply nod towards the book. He looks back down and then opens it.

Our families are seated around the table and books while Hunter and I stand above them to be able to see the photo album and their faces.

"Awww, look at my baby boy. You were so small here Hunt." June is transfixed with the one picture of baby Hunt, which had honestly also been one of my favorites. Once all pictures of Hunter are done, mine start and I hear a few giggles from the younger children.

"Nerd." Jude cackles and points to a picture where I'm reading.

"I'll be laughing at pictures of you now in ten years so I'd be careful mister." Hunter chuckles at my retort and gives my waist a squeeze.

Eventually the pictures of Hunter and I start. From when we first started dating (including the picture John took of us asleep on the same couch we're sitting on) to ones after we moved to New York and our wedding photos and the pictures from our honeymoon are there too. When I realize how close everyone is to finding out, I take a deep breath and lean against Hunt who kisses me softly before wrapping his arms around me.

My dad flips the last full page and the next "blank" one reads: "Coming soon!"with a baby bottle beneath it.

There's a pause.

And suddenly everyone is up and celebrating. There isn't a single person who isn't smiling and congratulating us.

"We're gonna be aunts!" Hannah and Cath are jumping up and down together while Jude runs to Hunter to give him a hug and then he gives me one too.

"How many months along?" My mom asks while her, Jade and June stand around me.

"Just reached five months last week." I smile and I'm tempted to rest my hand against my stomach. "It's the reason I'm wearing this awful baggy shirt but I couldn't risk giving it away."

"I'm sorry we waited so long to tell you," Hunter joins our conversation, "we just wanted to make sure our little guy was healthy and we wanted the whole family to be together which is more difficult than it seems."

"It's a boy?" Jade asks, completely ignoring the apology.

"We don't know yet," I hit Hunt lightly with the back of my hand, "Hunt just has this 'gut feeling' it's a girl, but I think it might be a boy."

"How come you didn't find out sooner?" June pipes up.

"I wanted it to be a surprise until recently but I really want to decorate a nursery and buy some clothes. In other words, I realized I need to be prepared. We're going to the doctor soon."

"I was just about to say that my daughter would never be that unprepared." My mom laughs and kisses my cheek.

"You're going to be a wonderful mother, darling." My dad holds my hand, "Your granddad's gonna be over the moon. He's always wished to see a great grandchild. I'm sorry he couldn't make it today."

"I understand dad, he's getting old and sick. Hunt and I are driving tomorrow to go see him and tell him the good news."

"The best news." Dad also leaves me with a kiss on the cheek before answering to Hannah's calls for him.

John stands in front of Hunt and I beaming, "I knew my son was fully loaded! I wouldn't be surprised if you're expecting twins!"

My head snaps in the direction of Hunter to find him strong at my, equally embarrassed and surprised. The idea of twins had never crossed our minds before for some reason.

"Dad, you've gotta slow down with the sexual innuendos before the baby's born. I don't want our little girl's - "

"Or boy." I quickly add.

Hunter sighs, "I don't want our little guy or girl's first word to be sexual."

I laugh at the absurd idea and so does John, "I know you two are gonna be the best parents this kid could ever have."

My lip tugs up into a smile and I thank John.

Hunter's beaming at me when we're left alone, "I just thought of the best thing."

"And what's that?" I ask as I wrap my arms around his neck.

His smile doubles and it's contagious too so I'm smiling equally as bright as Hunt and neither of us have control over how happy we are in this moment.

He leans over to whisper in my ear, "Someone's gonna call me 'Dad'."

Two weeks later Hunter and I are sitting in the car and again we can't stop smiling.
