《The Bad Boy Is A Virgin》Chapter 4: "Oh Hunter!"

I made myself food from what I could find in the cupboards, which wasn't much but I was able to make a basic sandwich.
"Do I not get any?" Hunter asked. I hadn't realized he was back yet.
"I'm your roommate, not your nanny." I pushed past him and sat down at the small dining room table. Hunter joined me a few minutes later with a bowl of pasta.
"Mama's boy." He said raising his bowl. I simply glared at him.
"Do you think it was a good idea to leave those two by themselves?" I broke the silence.
Hunter shrugged, "Your friend will probably have the munchies so she's probably just eating right now. No need to worry."
"It's not what she's eating, I'm worried about but who."
Hunter choked, clearly surprised by my comment so I passed him my water.
"Thanks sweetheart." He passed it back after taking a sip.
Hunter and I spent the rest of the night making small talk so I eventually got up and left him, "I saved your life, you can wash the dishes!" I called out before closing my bedroom door.
-
I spent the rest of my following morning comforting a bundle of sobs.
"Sky. It honestly was a stupid mistake but you've learned from your mistake now."
"You sound like my mother." She said between sobs, cheering her up more.
"How about we go buy some ice cream? My treat."
Sky sighed gratefully, "I love you so much."
"I know." I said flicking my hair.
"And you can tell me all about Hunter." She said dreamily, following behind me.
-
I sighed seeing a new girl with Hunter on the couch, "I'm going out to buy stuff, you want anything?"
"Just a six pack of beer." He said taking a break to breathe and speak.

I took my keys and left not wanting to hear another one of the girl's "Oh Hunter". He was literally only kissing her, she needed to chill.
I didn't generally bother Hunter especially when he was with some girl. Which happened every now and again but they always left the same night.
By the time I came back home the girl had already left, "That was faster than usual." I commented when I came back.
"She was pissing me off." He said rather angrily.
"Someone need a cold - "
"Don't finish that sentence." I didn't want to make Hunter angrier so I simply took a beer for myself and sat with my feet resting on the coffee table.
"Oh Hunter!" I imitated the girl's voice perfectly.
Hunter groaned, "I never want to hear that ever again. That's the reason she left so quickly. Never been more turned off in my life."
"Ever had a stable relationship?" I asked.
Hunter scoffed and I left it at that.
-
"Shopping?" Skylar's voice came through the phone.
"Sure." Shopping was not one of my favorite pass times but I went or else Skylar would be a complete utter mess without my fashion advice.
"Remember the cute guy from the club that works at the book store on weekends? He'll probably be there?" Sky knew exactly what to say to grab my attention and suddenly my interest in shopping grew.
"I'll be down in a few. Shotgun not driving!"
"So immature." Sky joked and ended the call.
When I opened the door Hunter was leaning against the opposite wall, "You're going shopping to look for a book nerd." He chuckled.
"Don't listen in on my conversations." I said matter of factly.
-
When we'd arrived at the mall Sky wanted to stop for a smoothie when she'd seen the cute guy behind the counter.

"Here's her number." I said writing it down for him and pulled Skylar away from him. They had been flirting for way too long and I had become impatient.
"There's a club he recommended that we could go to this weekend. I'll even be the designated driver so you can have a bit more fun."
"Sky, alcohol does not mean more fun, okay? And I don't trust you being the driver anyway."
"Why not?" She looked slightly offended.
"Last week you said the exact same thing and I ended up being the designated driver. I don't drink that often Sky. So I really don't mind. I'll be your chauffeur-slash-bodyguard." I joked, but it was a slight truth. I usually went out with Sky to protect her and drive her home safely.
-
"Not going out tonight?" Hunter called through my door.
"You can come in." I looked up at him from my book.
"You wear glasses?" He asked confused.
"They're only for reading. Which doesn't mean I can't see what's in front of me, it's just to protect my eyes from being short-sighted later on in life."
Hunter ignored the comment, "You're really reading on a Friday night, sweetheart?"
"Yes. Sky went out with Tyler and I don't mind sitting here reading."
"Interesting. Bad girls can be nerds. Lesson learned."
"Did you come in here for a reason?" I was at the most interesting part of the book and I always seemed to be interrupted when I was reading it (it happened whenever I read).
"Oh right! I came to tell you that Ty doesn't want to swap rooms."
"What?" I slammed the book shut.
"And you?"
"It's not just my choice sweetheart."
"Can't you convince him or something?"
"Am I really that bad to live with?"
I shrugged and he left the room with no further comment, although I swore I heard, "I don't really want to swap either."
My stomach twisted and I hit my head on my book for feeling so stupid.
-
I threw my book at my wall annoyed at the outcome and Hunter came storming back in my room, "Everything okay sweetheart?" He looked at me and then my book on the opposite side of the room lying on the floor.
"Wanna talk about it?" He asked.
My eyes widened, "You're kidding, right?"
"Nope. There's nothing interesting showing on TV and my cousin does the exact same thing. She tells me all about the book after and it always seemed to calm her down."
My face spread into a huge grin and I appreciated Hunter so much in that moment. He joined me sitting crossed legged on my bed and I told him exactly what frustrated me.
"Like can this girl just let go of Aspen! I mean Maxon is totally the better option."
"So you'd choose Maxon?" Hunter enquired.
I looked blandly at him, "What kind of question is that even?"
He held his hands up defensively, "I haven't read the book..."
"Well you should."
"It sounds interesting enough." He shrugged.
"Wait. You'd actually read it?" I gaped at him and he shrugged again.
I don't know if he was a brilliant actor but he seemed generally interested and even commented on the character's idiocy and asked questions.
"I feel so much better," I breathed deeply, "Thank you Hunter." And I gave him a genuine smile, liking the arrogant bad boy a little bit more.
"Guess I'll have to get used to episodes like that, roomie." He joked, nudging me then leaving, "Way more interesting than TV," he gave me a charming smile, "Honestly, sweetheart."
