"So are we all going to tracks tonight?" Gwen asked as I nodded and closed my locker before turned to beth who was standing extremely quite unusually lost in her thoughts.
"Beth?" I shook her shoulder slightly but as if a bolt of current passed her body she flinched away from us.
"W-what what d-did you say?" Her wheezy voice made me and Gwen share a look.
"You okay? We've been discussing about going to tracks but you were lost in your fantasies. You okay right?" I asked worriedly and placed my palms on her forehead but instead of burning she was extremely cold.
"Yeah I just don't feel good. I'm fine," She replied which I somehow didn't buy but I didn't question her more.
I've known her since we were very young. Though Gwen became a part of our friendship earlier this year maybe she didn't notice but for sure I could tell there was something.
I shrieked loudly as someone turned me around in a swift and swung me around before placed back on my feet. I smiled as Ethan's beautiful face came in view before kissed him hard.
"When will you stop doing that?" I playfully hit him on chest but he chuckled."Never ever Love.", he grinned.
"Get a room guys." Leo's voice made me giggled but we kept the stare between us.
"You look gorgeous today." He complimented before everyone gave a tired fake yawn to us. I rolled my eyes and turned my back to him but he still held me from behind.
"Y'all are just jealous," I showed my tongue in amusement to everyone and they all whined like come on'.
"I'm not jealous, I can kiss too look." Leo declared with a kiss he placed on Gwen's cheek as she flushed crimson and bit her lip to hide her huge smile breaking up on her face with a fake scowl.
Oh my God! Gwen likes Leo.
"Yah! why did you kiss me." She shouted and swapped her palms down in her cheek, as if she didn't like it.
My smile didn't last long as I glanced aside to where beth was standing. Her innocent features were showing nothing but sadness.

Her eyes were fixed on Ethan to his hand around me back and forth. I gulped as I worriedly looked up to Ethan but he was engaged in talk with others, completely unaware of her eyes having him all in herself.
It did make me possessive and angry about it. It's been third time I saw her staring at him whenever he's with me with the same affection in her eyes a friend shouldn't and it made me uneasy.
But I knew she would never come in between me and Ethan. She wasn't that type of a person. As she caught me looking at her, she shifted in her spot uncomfortably and looked away.
"So are you guys coming to tracks tonight?" Nate asked as he rested his back against the lockers amusingly.
"I'm all in." Gwen said as I did too.
They all turned to Beth as she startled the second time now.
"Yeah-
"She isn't feeling well guys, I guess it's only me and Gwen," I cut her off looking at her. My heart clenched knowing she was about to agree and I wanted her to come few minutes ago but now I didn't.
"Oh you should've beth but rest well. There's a race next Friday too. You can come then," It was Ethan who said it to her but again as his words were more like a music to her she smiled slightly to him and it made me angry inside.
"I have a class, I should go now see you all then," Beth scurried away more like ran away not from what she said for but something. My brows furrowed as I looked behind us as Max made his way to us.
Did she run away from him?
No why would she?
Max was a new member of our friend circle. He transfered here a month ago. A handsome chocolate brown eyes with black hairs, sharp features. A bad boy who girls would throw themselves to. He had a killing body for sure but attraction I didn't think so.
Being a son of town's sheriff must be a huge thing. He was way too friendly with us though he did flirted with me the first day but when he saw Ethan claiming eyes he backed away. Still there was something about him seemed off I couldn't put my fingers on.

"Hi Max how did your math test go buddy?" Nate asked playfully knowing something we didn't.
It all become faint voices to me as all roamed in my head was Beth. Her expressions weren't normal when she went away. The way she startled two times in a row. No normal person would do that until and unless you watched a horror movie one night before and for sure she wouldn't cause she didn't like them.
Then what was it?
"I'm getting late for my class, I'll meet you in parking lot," I pecked Ethan on the lips as he scrunched his nose back to me, not ready to let go surely before waved bye to everyone and went in the direction of my class.
Beth's next class would be free and I'd have a break of twenty minutes before my next one. I had to discuss things to her.
It was clear Ethan wasn't interest in her more than a friend so she had to stop oogling him. It was so uncomfortable for me. She was my Friend and for the sake of it, I didn't want things to mess our Friendship.

When bell rang I didn't waste a second and left class to search for Beth and talk things out but she wasn't anywhere. She wasn't in her usual spot under the tree in ground. After whole ten minutes I sighed and went to washroom to freshen up.
Sweat dripping my face to neck must me making me look stinky. Luckily It was only me inside, as I continued to wash my face and close the tap when I heard a sob.
I turned around and look around when a shadow in one stall caught me. Another sob came and I halted in my steps.
Beth.
"Beth are you in there? Why are you crying? Open the door please," I tap again & again & again. She didn't respond to me.
"I know you're in there beth. Come out and talk to me please," I waited & waited when she replied.
"Aria go please!" Her hoarse voice pleaded but there's no way I'd leave her here alone when I could tell something was definitely not right.
"I'm not leaving until you come out and tell me what the hell is wrong! Beth come out-
The door jerked open and she came out and went straight to the counter. She splashed her face twice with water and breathed out deeply. Her eyes were puffy and red.
I stepped towards her but she turned around before it.
"You wanna know what's wrong? I'll tell you what the problem is Aria," She flatly spoke out but there was unsettling anger in it.
"The problem is you Aria, You!" She growled in anger. "You have everyone beside you, to hug you, to comfort you...to help you."
My heart was hammering inside my chest to come out of it. The fact she wasn't loud enough for people outside to listen. It was only us.
"Beth w-what are you-u saying?" I stuttered as tears streamed down my face.
"Truth hurts Aria. Your presence always made me feel alone. Whenever I see you with him, It breaks me." Tears streamed down her cheeks but they didn't match her situation. She would never cry because of this.
She wasn't crying because of this. I knew.
"We've already talked about this, and for sure this is not what you're crying here for some minutes ago," I walked to her and cupped her shoulders. "Tell me what's wrong...please."
And as I knew she broke down giving up completely and hugged me tight. The guarded wall of ten feet she had made around her fell right then. We both sat there as she continued to cry in my arms.
I let her, I didn't invade her moment, cause I knew she had to let it all go, whatever that was weighing her down so much that she had to lie about her tears. It was not just making me scared but extremely scared.
This has never happened before. I hope everything's not that bad as I was thinking beth.
I prayed and we sat there in silence.
"Tell me what's it about beth. Its killing me to see you like this...please," I whispered and patted her hairs with comfort.

8 99An Invisible Girl
Not all Isekai is Human This is the story of the last survivor of her race, who is offered the option to be reborn in another world to continue the fight against the monsters that consumed her species. The new world is a horrible death world. It is filled with both beauty and horror, strange sentients of various types and perhaps the most dangerous monsters ever conceived. Humans. Two aliens. two violently opposed cultures. Is One little world big enough for both of them? First note: Please don't expect immediate action and slaughter and sex. There's a lot of conversation, drama, and interaction, as she learns about her new world. Second note: This is not 'humans as monsters'. It is more like "There are monsters, but humans can make their own". Technically I guess it qualifies as a system apocalypse, but it never really hits the apocalypse parts. Third note: This IS a Litrpg and the 'classes' provide some superhero-style action, eventually. It isn't strictly superhero, though. a lot of bits are contemporary fantasy, some are pure sci-fi, and some are superhero, depending on how people choose their new abilities. The overall theme is technically sci-fi, but soft like a baby. Fourth note: there is some sexuality (not sex) involving a protagonist in a 17-year-old body. Her mind is over 50 years old, though, and the body was created at that age in order to give her 6 months' leeway to learn to be human. This is not juvenile sex stuff, as the character is fully adult, just not adult as a Human.Plus it's mostly included for humor and alien context.
