I kept grazing my neck where my locket used to be shield me from dark thoughts. But since Ethan took it away there was this very awful feeling raising deep inside me.
Like something bad was about to happen...
The music playing in the cafe took me out of my silent daydreaming...mostly to be like night-maring, if that's a word.
I didn't know that this cafe would work as a distraction from so many things I'd been running and hiding from. I had been so well lately since I got this job. The customers were so sweet that some even gave tips. So far my decision was right.
I smiled at the thought of being relax finally aside of this feeling I just had. Lara was here today which made more jubilant. Her dad was doing a lot good now.
Finn told her that she could have leave for more days but she refused and said that everything was going absolutely healthy and fine.
"Sometimes it takes just one thing which you never imagined to encounter, to make you realize how important our parents are," Lara said. "I did love them all my life but what I felt in past few weeks is unaccountable."
I smiled at her from behind the counter. Seeing her all serene made me pacify on it's own. To be honest, what she just stated was purely truth of the life. I could connect to her sentiment.
I sighed before cleared the counter from every possible mess. Lara was busy wiping the tables and Finn was mopping the floor around.
"By the way someone asked me out on a date today!" She effused while me and Finn both raised their heads in a swift when Lara's exclaimed with joy.
"WHAT!! and you're telling me now? By the way who's this lucky guy, and what did you say to him? Is he handsome?" I held her hands in mine after she bounced towards me enthusiastically.
"His Name is Christopher, Chris in short. He said he saw me some weeks ago and since then he was mesmerized by my simplicity and was coming here every day but couldn't find me so today he asked me out, and Yes he's dead drop handsome," I hugged her tightly over the counter.
"What was your answer?" My curiosity was screaming through my whole body.
"We didn't decide the day but I agreed to be his friend first. Affection comes from friendship. I need some time to be able to read him before we go on official date," I nodded with tight lips in agreement.
Finn who was probably watching us amusingly cleared his throat.
"Did I mentioned before that no dating is allowed here?" Our perplexed foreheads jerked to him.
"What are you? A headmaster?" I sneered with a question. We both must have been staring at him like some wild cats that he broke the air.

"Jesus I was joking. You both look like you two would eat me alive," He babbled when me and Lara shared a look before bursted out laughing clutching our stomach.
"You should've look at your face Finn, it was like you saw a ghost," I laughed and patted his shoulder while Lara went back to her work, but I could hear her giggles.
Someone said which I conceded that the dark days when you lose someone beloved unexpectedly, God will consigned some angels to take the darkness away, the grieve might shoved you in.
It turned about to be veracious.
When Beth left me in misery, I was someone I couldn't perceive. My surrounding calls were just some faint sounds.
Sometimes I think about the time I chose to go for this job, might be one in a million second of the golden timepiece, which struck twelve and the thought hit me.
I do believe in magic. Just like this ring-
My thought were cut off when I sucked in air in fear and I looked over to my finger which was occupied by mom's ring before to be empty now.
"Oh My God No No!"
"What's wrong?" Finn trotted towards me as well as Lara. I was bending behind the counter looking for it but couldn't find it.
"It's my ring, I had it on before I think but now it's-- it's not in my finger," Tears dwelled in my eyes.
I came out from behind the counter and was so engrossed in finding the ring that I didn't hear my phone was ringing loudly.
"Aria you phone is ringing," Lara said but I continued to search around. Must have dropped somewhere. God If I lost it somewhere I would never forgive myself.
"What does it look like?" Finn asked as I described him the ring.
Lara's voice echoed again before she answered the call. "It's me Aria's friend, she's busy, may I know who this is?" She asked formally. "It's someone name Ethan, he wants to talk to you."
Why would he call me at this hour?
Finn was already searching around the cafe when I paused on Lara's words. "He's saying it's argent."
I took the phone and took a deep breathe before put it on my ear.
"What is it? and how did you get my number Ethan?" I stepped towards the glass wall a little far from Lara and Finn.
The fact that he changed his previous number and now was calling from new one.
"Hey sweetheart, hello to you too,"
"Ethan how did you-
"Is this what more important than what I have to say?" I closed my eyes as he was doing nothing but wasting my time.
My ears might be on his voice but my eyes were longing for my one precious memory catcher.

"I have this stupid yet beautiful ring you might be wondering where you lost your precious gift," My eyes shot opened on his statement.
How did he get it?
"How-
"I'm not in a mood of your questions Aria. I know what exactly it meant to you," A relief rushed over me as I deeply breathed out.
"Thank God, I thought I lost it Ethan, wait wherever you're I will come to take it," I smiled slightly but his laugh made me frown.
"Where's the fun in that?" His voice came out more like a taunt then being playful.
"Oh my innocent love, If you want it just come to this bridge which crosses east river and I'll return it to you but If you take," He paused as he probably checked the time. "More than exact five minutes than it'll be gone down in the water."
"What? Ethan what are you saying? You wouldn't do that!" I questioned with bewildered expression though he couldn't see but one could sense.
"You wanna test me?" My eyes widened in fear.
"Time starts..now...tick tok." He whispered in a scary way.
No he wouldn't or maybe he would...
The call cut off before I could say anything. I sprinted off towards the gate when Lara's voice stopped me.
"Where are you going at this time Aria, hey you_okay?"
I didn't reply as I rushed out of the glass door and started running on the footpath as fast as I could. Finn must've went in back room as he wasn't there when I left.
I checked my watch as four minutes were left. The bridge wasn't so far but it was so crowded on the way.
"Sorry, I'm so sorry...so sorry," I kept on apologizing as my shoulder hit people on the way.
***
"It's beautiful dad, I'm gonna keep it safe with my life on it. I promise Thankyou!!."
***
Tears formed in my eyes as I recalled the promise I made this morning but couldn't keep it for a day.
I was trying to solve this mystery I was living in but in the end no matter what I was doing, everything was keep falling apart from my grasp.
I had barely made it to the middle of the crosswalk when tires screeched so loudly my hands threaten to fly up and cover my ears. Turning to my left I come face to face with a bumper of some car and beaming headlights.. The sky was heavy roaring as it started to pour cats and dogs.
Tears were streaming down heavily as my lips trembled. My whole body was reacting in fear. I couldn't lose mom's memento at any cost.
I kept on running must've been looking like a pathetic, weird girl running, when suddenly my foot slipped on the slippery ground and my body jerked forward and my head collided with something rough and hard that it made me dizzy.
An acute pain hit my head and my vision got blurry and I was completely soaked in rain.
People gathered around me when someone grabbed me by upper arm and made me stand up. My legs were shaking. People were staring if I was some freak.
"Oh dear you're bleeding, let me take you to hospital," A voice rang in my ear but my vision was still blurry. I squinted my eyes and blinked but nothing.
Bleeding?
My hand touched the side of my head where it was hurting. My hand was crimson red dripped in blood when I pulled back it to front.
I checked my watched and it showed one minute was left. Shit!! I had no time for hospital. I pulled my hand back from hers and bowed slightly to apologize before started running and wiped the side of the head with the back of my hand.
My posture wasn't stable but I kept making my way through the crowd.
The blood washed out of my face due to heavy fall of rain. I was rushing at this point with crying all my heart. My beautiful hazel eyes were now an ocean and bloodshot.
I blinked my eyes to remove the fog, It was still 9:00pm so the city was more than alive.
A loud thunder roared with a threatening blinding purple lightning, the creation of God towering over aching in my pain was accompany me.
I couldn't care about anything. My mind was stuck on only one thing.
Somehow with my weak and tired body I reached the bridge. My breathing was heavy that I put my hands on my knees.
My heavy breathing made the only person standing there to turned around.
A pair of dead, cold autumn orbs stared back at me in complete loathe. He was in black jeans jacket and jeans with white black stripped shirt. An umbrella was sheltering him from the unmerciful rain.
He checked his watch with a disapproval.
"You came late, and you know the consequences of that, don't you?" His voice was pure of disappointment and warning.
He was about to drop my ring.
I couldn't care what past held this moment. I couldn't care about my head pounding so bad right now. I couldn't care If I have to jump off that bridge right this second.
But If he dropped that ring, All I knew was, the last hope of light and respect I had to forgive whatever he had done to me till now would be fade away with me.
I'd never forgive him.
"ETHAN NO!"

Zeroth Knight
Isekai, fantasy, with the core themes of Identity and Fate. Story contains a, mostly, lesbian cast. Just when she was about to confess to the man of her dreams, Eve is taken by a light to another world. Swallowing her up, against her will, eroding her, it demands a life so contrary to her previous one. In a new world with the title of “Zeroth” forced upon her, she must rely on her newfound “friends” to stay sane and navigate her responsibilities. But bit by bit, the world loses sight of the girl inside; seeing only “Zero,” the person she did not desire to be, but the hero that the world needed. Will Eve let the title she bears consume her, or will she become the hero in both body and mind? This is the tale of her struggles, and a star-crossed love destined by Fate to never converge. This is the tale of Zero. This story is a slow-burn, meant to be a few hundred pages or more in length, so the plot isn't the fastest to move. It also has lesbian-themed relationships for the majority of its cast. This story partially falls under, "harem" with the main character being female and gaining the affection of other females, against (at first) the main character's (Eve) will. This first arc will be more focused on the mentality and emotions of the cast with battles spaced intermittently. The second arc will involve a lot more fighting. Arc two will be out in a reasonable timeframe. I have another story up, a short story drama with light yuri and supernatural themes: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/27010/escape-the-knight I am will continue updating older chapters to make them flow better, and to just be more structurally sound. Shadow Falls
If you wanted to protect someone you loved, how far would you go, and what would you be willing to sacrifice? This question is at the core of this emotional rollercoaster of the book, Shadow Falls: the Rise and Fall of Erida VanIsle. This book emerged from four years of collaborative storytelling centering on the main character, Erida VanIsle, written by author Myra VanIsle. In this book, VanIsle goes beyond the events that led to Erida's sacrifice and explores forty-five years of the cost she paid to protect the sister she loved more than life itself. Shadow Falls explores the family tragedy which led to the separation of two sisters on completely different paths polar opposite of each other. While Erida set upon a path of darkness and power, Myra set out to be a beacon of light and hope bringing justice and peace to others. Be warned, the story VanIsle tells is dark and not easy, because you can't have the light without the dark.
