《Scars Of Regret | COMPLETED✔️》CHAPTER 11

I was not in a good mood since morning cause Dr. Melanie had informed dad about what happened in last session.
He was too upset with all this, we almost spoke nothing to each other at the breakfast table. The awkward silence was never there between us, but I guessed he has a right to be upset.
After last night with Ethan in cafe. I was so lost and scared of what, I didn't even know. I almost screamed and flinched when Finn came back.
He told me he met a friend on the way back to cafe so it took some time and then he walked me home cause I would have shit in my pants to walk alone in this cold.
School was usual today as I just had English and now was going towards the cafeteria. Gwen texted me that she would be waiting for me there.
I slung my bag over my shoulder as eyes roamed around in the corridor, when I saw this huge notice on the notice board.
Ravenwood Ice Skating Tournament 2020
It was happening again. I thought after the incident last year they would cancel it this year. I guess not.
It had always been me who put this notice on board given by our coach. Our school had a team known as Knight Riders (KNR) while our only rival Westview Highschool's Team, The Falcons (TFN).
Ravenwood had won the title 2 years in a row, except last year unfortunately. That was never meant to happen, everything was so fine.
I eyed the notice sadly which was pinned among other notices on the board covered with glass door and sighed. There was no hope of joining it this year. Knight Riders was so strong with Ethan, Nate, Gwen, beth and me. Well Leo never played. He was just not interested in it.

He's interested in his jokes and skateboarding..Cute
I continued to walk down the empty corridor and entered the crowded cafeteria where I found Gwen at the back by the window as usual.
She was eating some fries and nuggets. No one would believe but this skinny miss Gwen eats a lot. Not that I mind.
"Hey!!" Her cheery voice echoed as I sat down in front of her."Did you see the notice?"
I knew she already saw it by the look on her face. She seemed excited to join again. Gwen was probably trying to leave past and move forward unlike me stuck in it.
"Yeah I did, but.. I'm not joining," Her smile fell as she nodded her head with her lips pressed against each other. "You know what Aria, you should join again, that's... the only way we can fight it."
She was right.
After a little conversation we went back to our classes as per schedule. Luckily I had no class with Ethan today.
°°°°°°
As I was sitting by this window in the bus, going back home now, my mind was still filled with the discussion earlier.
I think all i need was some more time. Time to prove myself innocent. It was only possible with time. There was nothing I could do in this.
The bus stopped as more people filled in. All this time, I never thought of joining back. I knew about how much I loved ice hockey but the more I think about it, the more I feel complicated.
I turned my head towards the window. There was no space as some people were standing in the mid-section. I rubbed my palms on my jeans as it was getting suffocating.
All of a sudden a boy cheered with enthusiasm as I heard the commentary playing on his phone.

'WHAT A GOAL, BY SCOTT TUCKER,
THE PUCK SLID BEAUTIFULLY, IN THE NET'
My Breathe hitched as the memories of that day rushed back to me in a blink.
Riders!! Riders!!
The crowd cheered as beth criss cross the puck with the opponent before passed it to me. I looked over to Ethan who playfully winked at me as he skate faster towards the opponents net and right at that moment I passed him the puck.
The crowd was cheering so insanely.
ETHAN!! ETHAN!!
But before he could strike.
The crowd gasped.
We all stopped with the screech against the rink and turned around to see.
But what we saw that day, still haunted us as a horrible memory.
Beth was lying on the rink, unmoving.
I came back to my senses with a gasp as my vision got blurry and I started gasping for air. People started to turned to me and moved back a little to give me some space.
I knew what it was.
A Panick attack.
It has been long enough I got one. I had my medications, and I was all fine. The driver stopped the bus as I grabbed my bag and got off with wobbly legs as fast as I could and sat on the bench of bus stop, tried to focus on my breathing.
Some lady on the bus stop gave me her water bottle and after some breathe in and out. I got stable.
I closed my eyes and tilted my head upwards with resting it against the back. I waited there for a minute, cold wind made my nerves relax a bit.
Now I had to walk as the bus took off already.
I stood up and wrapped my body crossly with my coat and tightly, hands wrapped around me perfectly and started walking on the footpath when my phone buzzed. I stopped on the way and took it out from my jeans to see the caller ID.
OMG!
Without thinking twice, I picked it up
"Hello, can i speak to Aria Williams," The person on the other side requested.
"Yes It's me," I waited impatiently.."What is it? Everything okay?"
Please be a good news!!!!
"No worry mam, Everything's fine but we wanted to inform you that, she couldn't meet you this Saturday," The nurse said with an apologizing tone.
"May I ask why?" I asked as fear crawl in me. What if she decided to not meet me again?. What would I do?, She was my last hope to take myself out of this hellhole and get justice to beth.
"Her parents are coming that day to take her out for sometime," I sighed in relief, maybe if she would go out she'd get better and then she'd talk to me. I should not hurry with her.
"We'll inform you about your next visit, miss Aria," I thanked her as she cut the phone call.
How more long do I have to wait.

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. A chance to claw her way up the rigid social and financial ladder to make something of herself. A chance that wouldn’t come naturally to someone as familiar with dark alleyways and the glint of steel as she was with office work and corporate niceties.Book One is up on Kindle Unlimited as of 7/6/22 - https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0B2X3L8H5

He slowly backs up until his back is against the wall like my own, "You're..my neighbor?" He points to my door and I nod my head quickly. He hums softly, "You been here a while?" He asks and I nod my head once again. He chuckles, "Ya head hurt?" I nod again but stop as he laughs softly, "I-I mean.. no.. it doesn't." My cheeks burn red as I look at my shoes, "I-It doesn't hurt.." I repeat like a dummy and listen to him clear his throat, "So do you actually live there or was it bull?" He nods to my door and I play with my fingers, "Yeah.. I do.." I feel his eyes watch me and I quickly stop. "You live with your boyfriend or do you like sweatshirts that reach your knees?" He teased, making a giggle slip past my lips. I look away to the floor again, "I-I like big shirts... a lot." I mumble softly and he nods his head, "Hol' up." He puts his box down before walking over to one of the grey bins. I nosily watch as he pulls out a big grey sweatshirt, "Here." He holds it out for me to take and I stare at him with wide eyes, "F-For me?" I hesitantly grab the soft fabric as he chuckles, "Nah for ya mom." I puff my cheeks a little and give him a small glare, "Hush." He leans back against the wall and shakes his head, "It's cold out. You should put it on." ____________________________She was a shy girl from the city with no spine and a list of problems so long that it could touch the floor and roll off her shoes.
