__________
It was almost 9:50PM and my shift would end in ten minutes. The cafe was closed and lara already went off to her home.
It has been a week already I had been working here, and i felt good to have finn and lara as my friends. We got to know each other pretty well.
Finn lives here with his 9 year old sister sabrina. He completed his studies, now runs a cafe. I didn't try to dig the past more. Why he was running a cafe when he has a degree of something? He would tell himself if he wants to.
Lara lives with her family. Her family was a middle class with a mom and dad and no sibling. She told me some days ago that her dad was sick so she left early.
Her reason behind leaving school was same to take care of her parents as she was the only child.
Must have a hectic routine.
About Ethan, he has been attending classes. He came to monday then i just saw him on wednesday & thursday. That's it.
I had no idea where he had been while he missed school.
All this time I've been looking for a chance to talk to Ethan, but couldn't get. This past week he's been ignoring me, like I was invisible.
I didn't want this to be more complicated than it already was.
Finn went to throw the trash just some minutes ago and I was alone here wiping the counter after I wiped the tables.
It was the end of October, and it was getting fucking cold already. I was almost done with the my shift, when the bell chimed.
Didn't they notice the closed sign?
I turned to inform whoever came this time when my mouth went dry.
Ethan was here.
He was in olive green long coat and with Grey turtleneck, dressed with black jeans and black shoes. His perfect face symmetry, with toned body standing there perfectly illuminated by the dim lights of cafe.
For a second I didn't know what to do? Did he come here to meet me?
But he didn't know I worked here?
He smirked and tucked his hand in his coat's pocket before started walking towards the counter.
Maybe this is my chance?
"H-hey" My voice came out in whisper as his aura was making me feel unwell.

"Look who's here working__ one and only miss Aria," He taunted me with a smug look. He ignored my hey' and was looking at me like we never knew each other.
"S-sorry Ethan we are closed," I said to him calmly. I really wanted to make him coffee and talk to him but my body wasn't reacting in any way.
His smirked fell and replaced with a straight face as he came more closer to counter before bending over it so our faces were so close that I could feel his hot minty breathe on my cheek.
"I want my coffee Aria," His deep voice sent shivers down my body.
He had built this wall between us which was clear by the tone he just used. The look on his face doesn't approve he was in a mood of joke.
"But we're-
"You are not closed yet," Pointing back at the hanging board on the glass door, he smirked but his eyes were still on me.
I looked at the door with my peripheral view to see I forgot to flip and now it was showing the cafe was open.
Shit!
I closed my eyes in disbelief before shifting my gaze from door to him as he smiled, which was in no way innocent.
"Okay." I said to him politely. I had to talk to him and clear whatever misunderstanding was between us. I had waited more than a year for this.
It was past ten now, not just the whole cafe but the whole street was covered in pregnant silence.
I was definitely gonna miss my bus.
He went to the table before taking a chair out, which was upside down placed on the table and sat on it with crossed legs, facing my direction.
I started making his coffee, aware of his gaze at the back of my head. He was very calm which was usually unusual. Ethan's personality was very calm no doubt but when beth passed away, I saw his complete different self.
We were not just normal hangout friends. We six got so close in such a little time, one could think of. Leo, Nate, Ethan had always protected me, Gwen and beth like a saviour.
And in a flip, we all fell out of the ship, we all were on together and was sailing in the sea calmly. Never knew I would be uncomfortable with him in any way.

The whole street was looking creepy as I looked from the glass wall with darkness surrounding the air. Winter nights were so long to end.
I placed his hot coffee cup infront of him and sat on a chair to start a conversation with him. He looked up before taking a sip of the coffee.
"How are y-
"What the f*ck is this?" He cut me off as I looked at him with furrowed eyebrows.
"What?" Perplexed, I asked. His face was burning with exasperation.
"I said black coffee, this is not what I ordered!" He gritted his teeth.
The anger was radiating from his entire self. He was no close to 'my Ethan'.
"You ordered a simple one Ethan, You never liked black one," I said calmly. I know him better than he knew himself. Black coffee and ethan were like parallel lines.
"Oh wait, did you put something in it too?" He taunted as he placed his cup in front of me.
What?
"What- .....Are you insulting me?" My eyes open little wide and mouth in disbelief. He squinted his eyes in a curious way.
"No, just taking precautions," His words made my feel heavy.."You better know, mixing someone's drink with some toxins and make them die."
I should've known his reason behind coming here. He couldn't just insult me without knowing the truth.
"Now I think, you must have got whatever you put from your father's stupid laboratory," His playful voice pierced through my heart.
Enough! I stood up to leave cause I was in no mood to argue with him. But before I could go further he grabbed my forearm and twirled me around to face him.
"Do not be smart with me Aria, just admit that you did it," He whispered in a darker tone as he moved forward and I backed away til I hit the counter. His hand still holding my arm tightly. His pupil covered in black full of hatred, taking over his mind.
"I told you I-I ddidn't-
"How do you have guts to ask me how I am after you KILLED BETH?" He said harshly, jerked me up close with his hands holding both my forearms. My eyes got teary with his words.
My nerves were making hard for me to breathe. My vision got blurry with the unshed tears. Did he not care about me? About how I felt all this time.
"Ethan... y-you're.. hurting me," I tried to free my arm from his but he didn't move an inch.
I kept looking in his eyes, to see if I could find him. But he was so lost in somewhere that I couldn't approach if I wanted to.
"I swear Aria Williams, this is not our only encounter," He traced my forehead and tucked my loose hair from bun behind my ear.
"I will never let you forget that night," He said in a scary tone and jerk away my body. "I will break you from inside Aria williams, remember that."
With that he grabbed his cup from the table and left the cafe.
My body stood there, breathing hard with an ice cold mind and uneven heartbeat. The coldness outside was nothing to what I just felt.
°°°°°°
The cold night hit Ethan when he was just a few steps away from the cafe. He sipped on his coffee but stopped as he saw that he already finished the whole.
The fact that he knew that he never liked black one made him awkward. His heart hurt that she still knew him like before. That she didn't forget him.
That she still loves him.
Her rosy scent still lingered in his mind when he held her closely to him. His heart was hammering in his chest, with the pain she was feeling. They could feel but couldn't heal without each other.
His eyes rolled as he threw the cup with anger.
What the hell!
He continued to walk when his phone rang and he took it out from his coat. He closed his eyes as he tried to stay calm when he looked at the caller ID,
Ester
He knew why she called, the only purpose why girls throw themselves on him.
Sex'
He continued to walk till he reached the spot where he parked his car at some distance. He unlocked it and sat on the driver seat before answering the call with a monotone.
"I'm coming."
