It was pretty warm today. So I just wore a blue sweater and black jeans.
It was saturday and I was on my way to this amazing cafe after been rejected by the other ones.
After coming back on monday, I didn't stop my antidepressants cause they were my only way to get away my thoughts. Dad didn't know about my nausea and all.
It was just a stomach ache. Right?
He did remind me of my next therapy session which would be in two weeks and there was no way I was passing it now, I had to go to this one.
The past sessions did help but just a little, I stopped being in my room, lying on bed all day long. I started talking to the Ms. Emily, she was an old lady with a cat living beside us.
She was a wonderful lady, I stopped talking to her after the tragedy, but as I was coming out of the house today, I saw her watering the plants.
I smiled a little when she laid her eyes on me. She smiled too but that was all, I didn't talk yet, just hello and that was it.
She had been here for dad and me since mom was hospitalized because of cancer.
I looked at the pamphlets in my hand that i collected for jobs on my way back home all these past four days.
One was of a diner where they clearly declined to hire as they didn't want a highschool student.
What was wrong with highschool students?
The other was a waitress at a restaurant which seemed pretty classy, but my anxiety came up with all the Elite people and their aura is what I was far away from.
So it was a no.
Now I was heading off to this Cafe, the address was pretty simple and was on the way to school, so it wouldn't be a problem on my way back from school.
I hope I get hired.
My palms were already sweaty due to nervousness.
The bell chimed, made them aware of my presence. It was not crowded, only a lovely couple and some old guys were sitting in the back.

I looked up and the cafe was so cute.
The counter was in 120° from the gate on left with black and white square boxed patterned on the floor.
The furniture was white with lamps hanging upside down. The atmosphere was cozy and accepting.
I made my way to the counter and saw this huge white back with black straps of someone.
"Umm...Excuse me?" I said hitting my fist slightly on the counter twice as a knock.
The man turned around with a big smile on his face, he had these small indeed beautiful eyes and his hair in a Mullet style.
He was wearing white shirt which defined his arms so perfectly and a black apron on it stating
'Central Perk' which immediately remind me of 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S'. Maybe this cafe named after it.
I didn't even check the name. stupid'
I chuckled slightly waiting for him to say 'How you doing' but he never said it.
He amusingly raised his eyebrow at me, probably a bit confused.
"What can I get for this beautiful muffin?" He said softly, made me stop laughing right away.
"Oh that's what my friend say to me, Do I really look like one?" I said with a shocked expression but covered it with a grin.
He probably had seen the pamphlet in my hand as I placed it on counter. He seemed kind.
"So you're here for the job," He said nodding his head slightly ignoring my previous question. Never mind. "The pamphlet is a week old but.....I guess i'll hire."
"Really? Thank you so much," I looked up to get his name.
"Finn," He said holding out his hand for me to shake.
"Aria Williams," I hesitated as I rubbed my palms with my jeans to get away with the sweat and placed my hand in his before pulling it back.
The conversations went pretty quick, as we talked about some things before hiring. I told him about my highschool schedule and he gave me a shift after it.
"I'll see you on Monday then sir," I said lips turned into a thin line and nodded my head.

"Oh come on, you can call me Finn," He looked my way as I nodded slightly whispered 'finn' to myself.
He didn't look much older just twenty five maybe?
As I was about to walk out. I heard him calling me so I turned around.
"Aria, How you doing'," He shouted to me with a huge grin to which I smiled ear to ear.
Seemed like things were going my way pretty far.
°°°°°°
I didn't know I would get the job, I was way too anxious cause I never had looked for one. The sun was setting and the orange scenery was painted in sky.
It was Beautiful. The feeling of Warmth rushed through my cheeks.
I was on my way back when my phone buzzed. I stopped at the bus stop before stuffed my hand in my jeans pocket and took it out before seeing the name flashing on it.
It was Blake.
I answered it without wasting a second.
"Hi!" I cheered as I was happy about my job and there wouldn't be someone special to me to tell the news first than Blake.
"Well someone seems happy, wanna share with your brother?" He responded with his always soft tone.
Blake Miller, My cousin brother, Well he never saw me as his cousin, I was always his little sister.
We had lived together in Canada with Aunt Hannah (his mother)* and Granna (our grandmother)* since we were two to eleven years old, then I came to New York with mom and dad because of dad's work. Aunt Hannah was Dad's sister.
Blake and I had a ten years age difference but we were pretty close to use honorifics.
When he lost his dad, all he needed was a friend and we had a bond no one could break. Since then he was my support system. He was the protective older brother anyone would want.
I had always felt so blessed to have him.
No one dared to hurt me because of him. when I left Toronto, it was devastating. I cried so bad in his arms and he was continuously patting my back. I remember him saying that I was fighter and I could fight with circumstances whilst he would not be with me.
I was living in a bubble that I could fight, then the tragedy happened and i was shattered in pieces.
So it had been years since I had last seen him. He had been busy with work.
"I got a job!!"I cheered as I was happy for my job and also for Blake called.
"Oh wow that's great Aria, shouldn't we be celebrating?" He said and my heart stopped.
Was he coming?
"ARE YOU COMING!!??" I cheered with hope and eyes wide open but my voice died when he replied. It had been years since he last came.
"I will soon wee-one, not now, it's just work load is a lot and your brother is getting older you know," He joked about it to make me smile again, well it did work a little but I really miss him.
Couldn't his boss give others work too not all to him. I huffed at my thought.
"Oh please you're only 27 Blake," He worked all his life for The FBI as an agent. He always wanted to be one. "You have a whole life ahead, you will get married, have kids. But all you do is catch criminals." I huffed.
When we were young, he was always a cop and me his partner. We did play some girly games too in which I did some make up too on him.
It was too hilarious.
before I could say something, i felt tears prickled my eyes. "You know how much I miss you," I paused as there was a lump in my throat. "It's so a-alone without you all this time."
He sensed my breaking voice as he sighed. "I'm coming soon wee-one, I know you miss me cause you have no idea how much I miss you,"
I took a deep breathe.
"I Love you wee-one," He said with a sad chuckle. So much time had passed but he was still calling me that.
"I love you too Blakey Flakey," I sighed with a breaking heart.

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
