《How To Train Your Giant (DNF)》Ch 24 - Punished

Wilbur stormed into the castle as he heard George kicking and trashing, trying to free himself from the guards' grip
They dropped him at the hall floor as they stood behind him. "How could you do this to me?!" Wilbur yelled as George kept his head high
: YOU EMBARRASSED ME! IN FRONT OF EVERYONE! YOU PUT THEM IN DANGER!
: Dad! I -
: ENOUGH! I noticed you know that...that...monster!
: Dream is not a monster!
: HE'S NOT?! He nearly killed me!
: You led a war against them!
: It was meant to be! They are not our kings!
: It was never meant to be! He saved my life multiple times!
: So the whole picnic thing was a lie?! You've been hanging out with that beast?!
: He's not a beast! He's my boyfriend!
George gasped as Wilbur walked back a few steps. "THAT IS TOO FAR!" Wilbur shouted as George tensed at his father's voice
"Lock him up in his room!" he ordered as George begged no. "I will take your giant to the Island of Colossus!"
George's eyes widened, "NO! DAD! PLEASE! NOT THERE!" Wilbur turned to look at him, "Oh! So you know about that island?"
: PLEASE! ANYWHERE BUT THERE!
: And why must I listen to you? You tamed a giant behind our backs, it nearly killed me, and you broke many rules!
: Please! He's afraid! They're going to kill him!
: That's the intention
George was held by the guards as Wilbur walked away. He was dropped as the guards stayed inside his room, guarding his door
He ran towards the balcony and looked at the guards. He looked back down as he noticed he had nothing - no way to go down, escape, he was trapped
He looked at the Slayers and some guards pulling ropes. They were pulling a flat metal cart, and on the flat cart was a giant cage with a giant inside

The giant had his head down. He had the muzzle cage, chains and ropes tied on his wrists, ankles, thighs, and neck
"DREAM!" George called as the giant looked up. He noticed George crying as Dream whimpered, unable to move
Both watched each other helplessly as they took the cage into the boats. Dream stared at the human prince as he whimpered
"QUIET!" Techno slammed the cage as Dream looked at him and growled. He looked back at the prince as George extended his arm out
"I LOVE YOU!" George screamed, making everyone turn to look at him. Dream blushed and felt tears streaming down
"THEY'RE TAKING YOU TO THE ISLAND OF COLOSSUS!" George warned as Dream instantly panicked
"Make sure he doesn't escapes," Wilbur whispered to Sapnap as he nodded. The young Slayer looked at George and winked
George kept his act as he watched the boats leave. Dream whimpered and watched George getting farther without moving
"I love you, too!" Dream cried as a Slayer used a whip and smacked the cage. "NO! PLEASE!" George begged as the Slayer waved and whipped the giant, who yelled in pain and had his head down again
Sapnap went up the stairs and knocked on the door. The guards let him in as he noticed George hang at the edge of the balcony in despair
"Your Highness!" Sapnap called as he rushed and took George away from the balcony. He pinned him on the bed as the guards watched
Sapnap took his chance as he whispered, "George, Phil and I will rescue you. Trust me on this. You will jump off the balcony when I do my signal."
*whispering*
: What signal?
: You'll hear it. It'll be obvious
: How obvious?!
: Keep your fucking voice down!

: So when?
: Just listen to my scream
Sapnap let the prince go as he headed out. George watched from the balcony, not knowing what Sapnap was planning to do
The good thing, he's helping him escape, the bad thing, what signal? He mentioned it'd be obvious, so he waited
He paced around as he noticed the sun was beginning to set. He heard the people walking around and communicating as if everything was back to normal
He heard a few snores from the guards as he watched the people walk around, minding their usual business
He later heard screams. He looked around as he saw nothing. The people were screaming and looking up
Nothing was in the sky. Why were they all freaking out?
George heard the voice. It was Sapnap's! It was his signal! He ran as the guards tried to catch him. He jumped off the balcony as he regretted his decision
He was getting close to the ground as George looked away, feeling something break his fall

Now That's Entertainment(a system apoc litrpg)
Julia Crane was an experienced police officer who'd thought she'd seen it all. When the world as she knows it ends and the games begin, she realizes she hasn't seen anything yet. Follow along through this system apocalypse style litrpg novel. Contains adult language, realistic depictions of violence, and other possible triggers. I've self published a couple of other novels, but I'm new to royal road so formating and posting schedule is up in the air until I get a handle on the site.

The Beta Test
Our nameless narrator participates in a beta test for an early VRMMO game Meridian 60. That's not the real name but it captures the spirit of the adventure given the chronological and contextual era of the game. His character is unique and special but purely for mundane reasons and not because of any inherent or social significance. The first chapter which is mandatory to submit a story on RR serves as a bit of a prologue with some exposition, although I limited that to a reasonble level. I plan to begin releasing additional chapters starting Thursday, to align with the 48 hour submission approval process and also because I have something to do Wednesday. I haven't written anything but the summary and first chapter, nor have I plotted anything out. This is because my plan is to release roughly 34000 words a day, 10 chapters of ~12.5 pages each, for 3 days at which point the story will be complete. I'd have liked to plan for more but handling the interface tables and so forth needed for a data heavy litrpg slows down the writing process. 100k words is a bit short, a standard pre epic fantasy 300 page spec fic novel, but this is mostly a writing exercise and I am considering a longer project if I can maintain the pace. Probably do a different concept, maybe a dungeon core, over 5 days, since a 500 page novel is more common these days. Slight subversion of VRMMO stories Stat heavy/crunchy No paying your bills by gaming No out of game conspiracies No angst, interpersonal drama, or damsels/dudes in distress Schedule is 30000 words a day excepting the first chapter, a limitation of RRs fiction submission system Fantasy, high magic, male lead, no party, guild, or harem No gore, some profanity, no sexual content, and no current plans for anything traumatic
