《TROUBLE [twd]》tracks

"See that? Steps are close together. Means we got something on four feet," Daryl points to the ground.
"I see sticks and grass," Nanami frowns, squatting to look at the spot closer.
"I see it," Sakiko hums, placing her hands on her knees and hovering over the track, "And it's pointy."
"That's right," Daryl nods, "What else?"
"Hmm.. There's two holes. What has two holes in their feet?" Sakiko questions.
"Bigfoot," Nanami nods.
Daryl scoffs, "When it's in the ground, it ain't got holes. Means it was something heavy enough to put the holes there."
"That doesn't make sense," Sakiko scrunches her nose, "You make things sound harder than they have to be."
"So, it has two feet in it's feet and it has four feet?" Nanami asks.
"No.. It's.." Daryl sighs, looking up to the sky, "No."
"Four feet and eight mini feet?" Sakiko echoes.
"Look at your shoes," Daryl orders.
Nanami sits down, pulling his leg up to look at the bottom of his shoes. Sakiko twists her ankle, looking down at hers.
"Now look," Daryl continues.
He takes a big step, making sure to put pressure in the ground before picking back up and stepping away. The twins scoot closer, looking at the imprint his boot left in the dirt.
"See it now?" Daryl asks, pulling his leg up so they could see the bottom of his boot.
"Ah.." Sakiko inspects, kneeling to the ground.
She traces over the curve of the print, then to Daryl's tip of his boot. She does the motion over and over, making sure to notice what parts stick in the dirt and what parts don't.
Nanami stands up, brushing the dirt off his pants before stepping in the spot beside Daryl's, leaving his own track. He steps away again, glancing between the ground and his shoe.

Sakiko gently smiles, stepping over to stomp on the other spot beside Daryl's track- a mark of her own. The three stand side by side, looking at the prints they left in a row.
"Everything leaves tracks. Just gotta figure out what they are and where they're going," Daryl informs.
"So, what's this one?" Sakiko asks, returning to the first mark.
"Got any guesses?" Daryl questions.
Sakiko thinks for a minute before shaking her head. Nanami looks to the track, outlining it with his finger as he combs back through his memory.
"Four legs.. It's big.. Pointy feet.. A deer?" Nanami figures.
As Daryl nods, Sakiko looks to Nanami with wide eyes, "How'd you do that?"
"When we were learning how to skin a deer back at camp the deer foot almost ripped my shirt," Nanami recalls.
"Can you tell which way it went?" Daryl wonders.
Both teens seem at a loss at that question.
"The way the toes point is which direction it's goin' in," he offers a tip.
"Is the toes the pointy part?" Sakiko asks, receiving a noise of approval.
Nanami takes the hint, facing the way the track was pointing and looking around, "I still only see sticks and grass.. What about you, Kiko?"
Sakiko steps forward, bending at her waist to allow her eyes to scan around the area. She gasps, suddenly jumping forward and pointing wildly to the ground.
"Here!" she exclaims.
"Another part of trackin', you ain't supposed to be loud," Daryl adds, following behind Sakiko.
--
"Is this where we're gonna stay?" Nanami asks, scraping at his plate.
Daryl throws his chicken bone into their small fire, shrugging his shoulders, "Guess so.. Why? Y'all not like this place either?"

"It's okay," Nanami hums, "Just kinda quiet."
"I like it here. There's a lot of space- I don't even have to see the others if I don't want," Sakiko adds.
"I saw you with Ryan yesterday," Nanami recalls.
"Ryan and Glenn are different. They don't judge like.." Sakiko holds herself back from saying Lori's name.
Daryl nods, feeling more at ease that the teens were complying to staying in one spot again.
"Hey, Daryl?" Nanami asks.
Daryl flicks his eyes to him, already fearing any question his kids had. It led to bantering and complaining most of the time- he was never really prepared for anything they asked.
"What about Merle?" Nanami continues.
"What about him?" Daryl questions.
"I mean.. The whole thing was find Kiko and Merle, then leave.. But, we found Kiko, we're staying here.. What about Merle?"
"His tracks went cold. Tried everything I could to find him."
"How do tracks go cold?" Sakiko asks, "You said everything leaves tracks."
"When we started to go back, the van was gone."
"Do you think Merle took it?" Nanami asks.
"I did.. Now, I ain't sure. If he had it, he woulda gone back to camp. Think someone else got it."
The fire makes the wood snap, filling the few seconds of silence as the twins registered his words.
Clearing his throat, Daryl shuffles in his seat, "That's why if anythin' happens.. Y'all gotta leave me tracks. Make sure I can find you again."
Nanami nods, though he had already been doing that when he was out there.
"Kiko?" Daryl asks, "You hear me?"
Slowly, Sakiko nods as well, "I will."
"You swear?" Daryl makes sure.
"You wanna pinky promise on it?" Sakiko fires back, glaring to him.
Daryl perks his eyebrows up, the two holding eyes for a few seconds before he scoffs and settles back to eating.
These kids would be the death of him if they weren't already his salvation.
"Are you sure you've never seen Bigfoot when you're hunting?" Nanami suddenly asks.
"Ain't no such thing," Daryl denies, "Did see a Chupacabra once."
"A what now?" Sakiko asks.
"It's like a dog but a vampire, too. Nasty lookin' sons of bitches."
"That's not real," Nanami scrunches his nose, offended that Daryl would take him for such a fool.
"Yeah and neither are dead people who get up and walk around again," Sakiko defends.
Nanami wishes he had a come back.
"What if a Chupacabra is just a walker dog?" Sakiko asks.
"You might be on to somethin'," Daryl admits.
Nanami slides his plate away, suddenly not so hungry after all.

Helena's Plane
Paul, a bored young man, wakes up in a white room. A young woman tells him he has died, that she is some kind of god who likes videogames and he will be reborn in an RPG-esque world so she and her fellow god-friends can watch him for entertainment.Unfortunately, the goddess forgot to give Paul most of the obligatory, obvious cheat-abilities to make him rush to power in easy mode. Paul embraces his new life full of clichés, perverts, magic, loot and action. And animal girls.18+ !CONTAINS GRAPHIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL CONTENT! (Actual sex is still hard to find, but you will get it. Eventually. Sporadically.) =================Author's note:So, this is my very first novel. It will be poorly written, has a huge info-dump disguised as a first chapter (to be rewritten. At some point in the future. I guess.), and may or may not offend everyone for different reasons. Perhaps you will just find it boring, which would be even worse. The description turned out a bit comedic, but the story isn't overly so.I have a rough idea of where this will be going, but expect some bumps on the road, as well as logic holes, flat characters and a lot of borderline copyright infringements from all the ideas I got reading other works. And did I mention I'm not a native speaker? No? Well, expect some embarrassing grammar and wording choices. The main character is a more or less normal guy, without high morals, martial arts skills or even a desirable goal in life. There is mature content, in terms of violence and sexual content. It won't become a full-blown erotic novel, and it may or may not be your cup of tea when it comes to the type of content.Critics welcome.

Time Can't Heal This
I've always hated the saying "Time heals all wounds." Maybe in most cases that may be true. In my experience with life and pain however, time has only ever bled out the wound. The scars that the wounds left behind though, are often so deep that just looking at them becomes painful to the mind. Time only heals what you let go of. Sometimes letting go and moving on just doesn't feel possible; no matter how much time you let pass you by.These poems signify what time hasn't healed for me.
