Sarah's has been visiting me in the hospital daily. Tells me what has been happening out there with Brandon, the cops. Talking about cops, some came to visit me but I refused to let them know anything. So they said they'll come back later, as long as my daughter isn't with me I will not be speaking to anyone. Or speaking at all...

"Avah?" I looked at Sarah who was helping me wear my clothes. I was going to leave today I was very happy about that but I was waiting for them to re-break my ribs when they know I don't have the money to pay for the hospital bill.

Sarah and I went to the receptionist to get my papers and the receipt, she handed me all the papers I needed and I was waiting for her to tell me how much I needed to pay.

"Your hospital bill is already paid ma'am" the receptionist said, I looked at Sarah confused. I guess she knew I would be wondering who it was so she asked her.

"Someone called Kali Martin. They paid for everything since the day you were brought here." The woman explained to the both of us, Kali? I was shocked that she's done that, I mean, I'm thankful and grateful but I don't know how I will repay her. The hospital bill was 6 numbers long and I don't have the quarter of that.

We left the hospital and outside a black limo was waiting for us, Sarah pulled me inside the car and then sat next to me.

"We're going to Kris's place until things get better, we can go get Nadine when we can." She said with sweet smile, I nodded my head then laid it on her shoulder. I wonder how my baby is doing, I've missed her so much. I wanted to bring her with me but both my dad and Brandon had forbidden me from doing so because they were scared I'd runaway with her. Which was one of my plans if I'm being honest.

"We're here" she said just as the car stopped, I looked outside the window to see a huge mansion. Kris lives here alone? This place is insanely big.

When we went to the front door, I poked Sarah's shoulder and asked for her phone. I started typing, why would Kris live alone in a huge mansion all by himself, wasn't he scared? When the door opened, I looked up and...

"Oh hey Kali, is Kris here?" Sarah asked, my mouth was shut my eyes were wide and my ears were red. I didn't know what to do, I just stared at her, Kali nodded rubbing her eyes sleepily and stepped out of the way.

I can feel her eyes sticking on me since I walked inside the house until I reached the living room. I was nervous under her stare and I didn't know how to act.

"Kris is in the garage, he'll be back in a minute." She said sitting on the couch in front of us, why can't we go wait in Kris' room until he's done why do we have to sit here, in front of her.

"You guy want anything to drink?" She asked still looking at me, Sarah said yes politely and I nodded my head yes. She got up, disappearing for a few seconds and came back with drinks.

"Here" she handed me the glass of juice and I went to grab it and my fingers brushed against hers, and I almost let go of the glass.

"Careful..." She whispered gently, I'm sure she thinks I was still weak that's why she's being soft. I smiled to thank her and she nodded her head. Her voice was so soft and gentle, it made my chest do things I wasn't used to.

"Hey baby!" Kris walked in the room covered in grease, Kali gasped and screamed at him.

"My expensive floor!!" He rolled his eyes and went to kiss his girlfriend, he waved at me and then turned to look at his sister.

"So Kali, I haven't told you yet but Sarah and Avah are staying with us until B-" my eyes were glued to her while hers were strictly on her brother.

"Huh?! Since when do you make decisions in the heart of my house?" She asked him getting annoyed, I was starting to feel like I'm too much and that this was a bad idea. I didn't know she lived here as well, and I didn't want to bother her. She hates me, and I'm here trying to find cover in her house.

"Kali, please it won't be for long. She needs a place to stay" Sarah said, Kali looked at her and avoided looking at me at all cost.

"Why don't you give her a place to stay? Kris you have money, buy her a place or something I don't know, this isn't a fuckin shelter" she was getting annoyed and every word she said was understandable, I stood with a smile on my face trying not to show that I was feeling like shit. I grabbed Sarah's phone and started typing, I went to Kali and handed her the phone.

'please don't feel pressured to let me stay, I had no idea this was your place. I'm sorry for bothering you, I had no intentions to do so I promise. And I also wanna thank you for everything you've done for me. I'll try to pay you back as soon as I can afford'

I watched all types of emotions run through her eyes and face, she looked up at me and I gave her a reassuring smile then started heading for the door.

I felt a soft hand wrap around my wrist and gently stop me from moving. I turned to reassure Sarah that I was going to be fine at my dad's house as long as Brandon was still in jail, but it wasn't Sarah. My cheeks warmed up and I felt the heat climb to my ears.

"I- I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, this was just a bit surprising to me. Please, I know we don't like each other but if you need a place to stay you are more than welcomed to stay here" she said, oh Kali, you don't even know how much I like you...

I looked back at Sarah and she was smirking at me, I fought the urge to roll my eyes at her so I looked back at Kali and smiled instead.

'Thank you' I mouthed, she patted my hand for a second than let go. I missed the warmness of her palm on my hand, she softly rubbed her forehead and sighed.

"Ehm, Kris will show you around. Bye" I saw her pale skin get coated with a soft pinkish color, she backed away and then fast walked towards the stairs. I gave Kris and Sarah a confused look and they just shrugged their shoulders. What was that?

"Avah, you need to file a report against that asshole. So you can take custody over Nadine" I sighed and went to sit next to them on the couch. My daughter is at my dad's house, if he knows that Brandon has been arrested he'll blame me and he'll probably hide my girl from me or take her somewhere I don't know.

"Don't overthink it, we'll help you" Kris said rubbing my back in a comforting way, I can't help but overthink everything because I need to save my daughter from her dad and grandpa. Even if Brandon is in jail, he's still dangerous because he's a fuckin cop...
