The trio found a spot under some trees and Pumbaa laid the lion cub by the water. Timon then splashed water on his face, waking him up.

"You okay, kid?" Timon asked.

"I guess so," the lion cub, Simba, answered.

"You nearly died," Pumbaa told him.

"Y/N and I saved you," Timon said, making Pumbaa snort at him and Y/N nudge him, then he added, "Well, uh, Pumbaa helped. A little."

"I would say more than a little," Y/N commented.

"Thanks for your help," Simba told them dully then started walking back toward the desert.

"Hey, where you going?" Timon wondered.

"Nowhere," Simba responded.

"Gee. He looks blue," Timon commented to Y/N and Pumbaa.

"I'd say brownish-gold," Pumbaa said.

"No, no, no, no. He means he's depressed," Y/N corrected.

"Oh," Pumbaa understood, they caught up to Simba, then asked, "Kid, what's eatin' ya?"

"Nothing; he's at the top of the food chain!" Timon joked then laughed hard while nudging Simba and saying, "The food cha-haain!"

He then noticed he was the only one laughing, so he cleared his throat in embarrassment.

"Not the time, T," Y/N remarked then asked Simba, "So, where'd you come from, little guy?"

"Who cares? I can't go back," Simba told them.

"Ahh. You're an outcast! That's great, so are we," Timon replied.

"What'cha do, kid?" Pumbaa wondered.

"Something terrible. But I don't wanna talk about it," Simba responded.

"Good. We don't wanna hear about it," Timon remarked then exclaimed after getting smacked upside the head, "Ow!"

"Real smooth," Y/N scowled.

"Yeah. Come on, Timon," Pumbaa agreed then asked Simba, "Anything we can do?"

"Not unless you can change the past," Simba answered.

"You know, kid, in times like this my buddy Timon here says, 'You got to put your behind in your past'," Pumbaa stated.

"No. No. No," Timon disagreed while waving his arms.

"I mean..." Pumbaa tried to correct.

"Amateur. Lie down before you hurt yourself," Timon told him.

"It's 'You got to put your past behind you.' Look, hon. Bad things happen, and you can't do anything about it, right?" Y/N explained.

"Right," Simba answered.

"Wrong!" Timon declared while poking Simba's nose then continued, "When the world turns its back on you, you turn your back on the world."

"Well, that's not what I was taught," Simba pointed out.

"Then maybe you need a new lesson. Repeat after me," Timon instructed, cleared his throat, then said, "Hakuna Matata."

"What?" Simba questioned.

"Ha-ku-na Ma-ta-ta," Pumbaa pronounced.

"Yeah. It means 'No worries'," Y/N said.

As they sang, they lead him to a little patch of greenery, where they fanned him and filed his claws.

[TIMON:]

"Hakuna matata! What a wonderful phrase!"

[PUMBAA:]

"Hakuna matata! Ain't no passing craze!"

[Y/N:]

"It means no worries, for the rest of your days"

[TIMON, Y/N, & PUMBAA:]

"It's our problem-free philosophy"

[TIMON:]

"Hakuna matata!"

"Hakuna matata?" Simba asked.

"Yeah, it's our motto," Pumbaa replied.

"What's a motto?" Simba wondered.

"Nothing! What's a motto with you?" Timon joked, making him, Y/N, and Pumbaa laugh.

"You know, kid-- These two words will solve all your problems," Pumbaa said.

"That's right! Take Pumbaa for example," Y/N stated.

[TIMON:]

"Why, when he was a young warthog"

[PUMBAA:]

"When I was a young warthog!"

[Y/N:]

"Very nice"

[PUMBAA:]

"Thanks"

[TIMON:]

"He found his aroma lacked a certain appeal"

[Y/N:]

"He could clear the savannah after every meal"

[PUMBAA:]

"I'm a sensitive soul though I seem thick-skinned

And it hurt that my friends never stood downwind

And, oh, the shame!"

[TIMON:]

"He was ashamed"

[PUMBAA:]

"Thought of changin' my name"!

[Y/N:]

"Oh, what's in a name?"

[PUMBAA:]

"And I got downhearted"

[TIMON:]

"How did ya feel?"

[PUMBAA:]

"Every time that I--"

[Y/N:]

"Hey! Pumbaa! Not in front of the kids!"

[PUMBAA:]

"Oh. Sorry."

This made Simba give a slightly confused look. They then went to a tree and Timon and Y/N hoisted Pumbaa up until they started swinging around.

[TIMON, Y/N, & PUMBAA:]

"Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase

Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing craze"

[SIMBA:]

"It means no worries for the rest of your days"

[TIMON:]

"Yeah, sing it, kid!"

[TIMON, Y/N, & SIMBA:]

"It's our problem-free"

[PUMBAA:]

"Philosophy"

[TIMON, Y/N, PUMBAA, & SIMBA:]

"Hakuna Matata!"

They then headed over to a big leaf and Timon removed to show their home, which made Simba smile in amazement.

"Welcome to our humble home," Y/N told him.

"You live here?" Simba asked.

"We live wherever we want," Timon declared.

"Yep. Home is where your rump rests. Heh!" Pumbaa commented.

"It's beautiful," Simba told them.

They were then walking along when Pumbaa let out a loud burp.

"I'm starved," Pumbaa said.

"I'm so hungry I could eat a whole zebra," Simba told them.

Timon made an uneasy exclaim before saying, "We're fresh out of zebra."

"Any antelope?" Simba asked.

"Sorry. None of that here," Y/N shrugged.

"Hippo?" Simba wondered, almost desperately.

"Nope. Listen, kid; if you live with us, you have to eat like us," Timon said then replied, going to a log, "Hey, this looks like a good spot to rustle up some grub."

"Pumbaa, if you please," Y/N requested.

Pumbaa then lifted the log to reveal the large amount of bugs and worms that hid underneath.

"Eeew. What's that?" Simba wondered.

"A grub. What's it look like?" Timon pointed out while holding one.

"Eeew. Gross," Simba cringed.

"Mmmm. Tastes like chicken," Timon commented.

"What's a chicken?" Y/N asked before eating on.

"I have no idea," Timon shrugged.

Pumbaa slurped a worm up before stating, "Slimy, yet satisfying."

"These are rare delicacies," Timon said before eating another one.

"Piquant, with a very pleasant crunch," Y/N said mid-bite of another bug.

"You'll learn to love 'em," Pumbaa told Simba with his mouth full.

"I'm telling you, kid, this is the great life. No rules. No responsibilities," Timon remarked while getting another bug then commented before eating the one he caught, "Oooh! The little cream-filled kind."

"And best of all, no worries," Y/N finished.

Timon then brought a leaf of grubs over to Simba.

"Well, kid?" Timon asked, raising the leaf to his height.

"Oh well-- Hakuna Matata," Simba stated, ate one, then declared, "Slimy, yet satisfying."

"That's it!" Timon nodded.
