Well, I guess this turned into a 500-likes special instead of 300. Sorry, this took so long you guys. I appreciate every single one of you and am so thankful for all of the likes, comments, and adding to reading lists. Thank you all so much. Above I have a picture of where all my readers are from because I want you all to know that I appreciate every single one of you so much. Also, this is mainly fluff of some kind and like the absolute mildest of smut, like a teaser of sexual content. Just foreplay honestly.

He hadn't expected this mission to go as south as it did, really he didn't. He thought that he would be in and out, and have time for breakfast. However, that is not how it went. He had not heard the demon sneaking up on him as he stood over the corpse of the other.
The living demon had been quiet and had swiped across his back before running like a coward. The demon's overly long nails had contained some kind of poison as well, which was not helping as he hobbled toward the butterfly estate.
He managed to kill it after it had punctured his skin more times than he truly cared to count. It took longer than he wanted to end the demon's life as well, and that was a true hit to his pride.
He felt the blood dribbling from each of his wounds, and while he was breathing to help staunch the loss of blood, the poison trying to ebb through his body was not helping. His sword was currently acting as a crutch as he made his way to the butterfly estate, knowing that Shinobu was far better equipped to deal with what he was dealing with than any of the other estates.
A kakushi had found him, about 100 yards from the butterfly estate. He had decided to lie down and focus on his breathing to prevent any of his current injuries from worsening. The kakushi had been sent out to learn about his mission, and they found his body. They had panicked because they thought he was dead, which he quickly remedied by laughing. The poor kakushi had almost jumped out of their own skin.
The kakushi had assisted him in getting to the Shinobu, hurriedly setting him down and rushing off to get her. Rengoku felt sorry for the corps member, having the impression that the Kakushi was close to having a heart attack from stress.
Shinobu rushed in, another person following not far behind. He was thoroughly surprised to see you. He hadn't thought you'd be here, ever. You were so strong that it wouldn't make any sense for you to be here for any injuries.
"(Y/n), please get a bowl of water and a cloth." You nodded, rushing off to grab the things she had asked you to. Shinobu turned to him again, "so what happened?"
"I think I've been poisoned! A demon that was not reported stabbed me and I have been feeling odd since then!" His hearing was shot after the fight, he had to strain his own ears so far in an attempt to hear the demon that now hearing was very difficult.
"Your first mission back and you've already hurt yourself again. Self-sacrificing bastard," she shook her head. He looked away sheepishly, a shameful flush coming over his features.
You walked in again, a bowl resting against your hip and a cloth slung over your shoulder. You sat next to him, hands coming to rest on his collar before stuttering. You peered up at him, a deep flush over your features. "May I remove your shirt for medical purposed, Rengoku?"

He felt his blush travel up to his ears, and down past his chest. He'd only barely heard you, but with your body language, he'd been able to piece everything together. He turned away, "uh-huh!"
He was fully embarrassed, trying to prevent his body from shaking as you unbuttoned his shirt. You peeled the sweaty material from his chest, seeing a few punctures quickly. You maneuvered his arms, sliding the sleeves down and off his body.
His chest was flushed and you were mildly concerned about his varied color. You wet the cloth, wringing it out till it was damp, and gently settling it on his hot skin.
You could feel the heat travel through the cloth as you gently ran it over his skin, wiping any blood off. He tensed when you passed one of the punctures. You could feel his muscles tense under your hand as you passed over the wound, so you took greater care to be gentle as you swiped over them.
You felt the blood seeping into the air as you cleaned his skin, the blood isn't stopping. You furrowed your brows and decided to bring it up to Shinobu. She hummed in thought, seeming to figure it out, and handed you a small vial.
You brought it up to your face, inspecting it. "What am I to do with this?" Shinobu rolled her eyes, "give it to him." Your brows shot to your hairline, looking back and forth between Rengoku and the small vial in your grasp.
Another Kakushi burst in, "Ms. Shinobu, we are in desperate need of your expertise," the kakushi gasped. Shinobu looked torn but turned to you. "Do you think you can handle this?" She questioned, tilting her head to the side. "Yes," you confirmed.
She nodded, "I'll leave you to it then," and she left quickly to handle whatever the new medical emergency was. You sighed as you watched her leave, feeling the body next to you only tense more. "I won't hurt you Rengoku," you spoke meekly.
His eyes grew fierce suddenly, "I know you won't," he spoke firmly. You were taken aback by his tone, thoroughly surprised. "Then is there a reason you are so nervous?" You questioned absently, having already gone back to cleaning his wounds.
He stuttered but never responded. You decided to drop the topic, resting the small vial next to you. You wanted to clean everything up a bit more before moving on to the next step. You'd have to stitch his injuries, and you only hoped his pain tolerance, and your own skill would be good enough.
"I have to take this completely off. Is that okay?" You lifted your head to look him in the eyes. He nodded, turning away in, what you could only assume, was embarrassment. You maneuvered him to drag the shirt from behind him, and he sat forward to aid you. You gasped at seeing his back. It was covered in deep slashes and stabs. "Oh my goodness, how were you just sitting here this whole time!?"
He blanched, moving his head to avoid eye contact. You huffed, grabbing the small vial. Whatever was in this would be necessary to help him, so best to get it in his system quickly. "Drink this." You said as you shoved it near his face.
He ignored you, turning away. By the son of man, you let out an exasperated groan, shifting to grab his chin and turn his face towards you. "Drink it," you lament. He didn't open his mouth, only staring at you with a deep red on his face.

You sighed, for what felt like the millionth time, and manipulated his jaw to open. The red only spread further over his body, but you gently tipped the liquid down his throat. He gulped loudly, swallowing all of the liquid easily. "Good boy," you praised obliviously.
He felt a tingle shoot up his spine, his body jolting to a ramrod position. He found his mouth opening and closing, fumbling for something to say. You were completely oblivious to his struggle, having turned away from him to gather any necessary supplies.
You stood up to cross the room to grab something and Rengoku saw his hand reach out for you, desperately missing the warmth you had unknowingly provided. He panicked, shoving his hand beneath himself as he saw you begin to turn around.
You walked back towards him, sitting next to him on the bed again. "I need you to lay on your stomach so I can clean your back." He nodded to your request, wordlessly laying back down.
He felt the cool water from the cloth soak into his skin, his shoulders pinching at the sudden change in temperature. "Sorry," you mumbled as you washed over his back. You didn't care to admit it but his muscles were incredibly defined. You couldn't help but marvel at the toned man beneath you.
You could feel the muscles move and contract under your hands, and you tried your best not to let your mind wander, but brains often wonder whether the owner wishes it so or not.
Rengoku wasn't fairing better, wishing he could ask for a massage or have you do this often. He was lulled into a sense of security as you methodically washed the blood from his injuries. He hadn't expected you cleaning his injuries to have been so relaxing but he felt himself slip into a light slumber nonetheless.
You quickly noticed his breathing slow, coming to the conclusion that he had fallen asleep. It brought you a sense of joy and pride, to see him sleep as you cleaned his injuries. It meant he trusted you and that you weren't hurting him. You let out a deep breath, feeling your own body relax.
You had finished cleaning his wounds, not wanting to wake him so you could begin stitching them. You gnawed on your lip, contemplating whether to wake the man beneath you or not. You conceded, deciding to get everything ready before waking the man.
You gently maneuvered yourself around him so as to not disturb him. But as you left the bed, you heard him let out a shuddering breath. You turned back to him quickly, trying to make sure he was still alright.
His eyes blinked in quick succession, trying to clear his vision as it was blurry from sleep. He grumbled and sat up on his forearms before wincing at the pulling of the wounds on his back. "You shouldn't move too much," you chided. His head rolled towards you, a light smile tugging the corners of his mouth. "What happened while I was asleep?" He questioned groggily.
You felt a pleasant tingle travel down your spine at his sleepy voice. You shook your head slightly, trying to shoo away those thoughts. "I'm getting everything ready for the stitches you'll need," you spoke.
He hissed under his breath, not excited about the need for stitches. "Sorry, but if you want these to heal well, you'll need stitches. It's more dangerous to not get these stitches." You explained as clinically as possible.
You had gathered everything, threading the needle calmly. "You'll need to lay on your stomach first, and stay as still as possible. I'll apply some antiseptic in a moment." You were keeping explanations clinical, trying to emotionally separate yourself.
Rengoku hummed, plopping back down and trying to stay relaxed. You walked over gently applying an antiseptic. He grimaced at the feeling, back and shoulder muscles tensing.
As you were applying to ointment you could feel the taut muscles beneath the applicator. You knew not to get distracted, but damn if it wasn't difficult, especially considering the tensed muscles were so clearly defined.
You finished, turning to heat the needle so as to make sure it was as clean as possible. "This is likely to hurt," Rengoku could hear a clink and immediately became nervous, "you'll want to bite down on this." You placed a leather belt in front of his face.
His eyes widened, staring at the offered material. He knew what you wanted him to do with it, but wasn't exactly sure how to proceed. You gently shook it in front of him, urging him to either grab it or bite into it.
He picked the latter, bitting into it timidly. He was a blushing mess, and you were doing your best not to join him. "I'll be starting now," you spoke and began stitching the man beneath you.
His muscles tensed once again, a noise of discomfort escaping his mouth. His teeth dug into the leather, drool slipping past his clenched teeth. You stitched as quickly as possible, trying to be clean but also get it over with for Rengoku's sake.
You finished after a minute, wiping your sweaty brow with your forearm. "This side is done," you spoke into the silence of the room. The only sound that could be heard was Rengoku's labored breathing.
"Sorry, I know that was painful." He only seemed to sag into the bed, spitting out the leather in favor of shoving his face into the provided pillow. You got up again, grabbing a small, fresh, washcloth to gently clean off the antiseptic.
"We may have to do the front, I'm not sure yet," you spoke and gently brushed his back. He groaned. But made no further protests. You sat on top of his legs, gently tending to his back.
You had both been sitting together for about 10 minutes, but decided now was about time to have him flip over. "I'm sorry Rengoku but you need to lay on your back now." He flipped wordlessly and you only squatted there helplessly.
After Rengoku flipped, he seemed to have figured out his own mistake. You were squatting above his upper leg, only having to shuffle a few inches to be resting on his hips. He swore he would die from embarrassment if he kept looking into your eyes.
He turned away, avoiding your gaze at all costs. You could only stare back, dumbfounded at the predicament you'd found yourselves in. You cleared your throat, trying to get back to your job.
You looked down at his chest, and damn that was not a good idea. Completely and totally distracted now. You stared down at his sculpted chest, and his defined abdominal muscles. You desperately wanted to run your hands over it but did your best to fight that urge.
You saw one cut, on his upper pectoral, that would need stitches. Shit, you thought mildly disappointed. "You'll need one more set of stitches." He huffed at that, but grabbed the leather and prepared it in front of his mouth.
You couldn't help but huff a laugh at the man, but cleaned it and prepared the skin for stitching. You moved to rest above his hips, your thighs resting against him. His eyes rolled back, and his head was thrown against the pillow. Have mercy, he begged.
You began the process, stitching him slowly but carefully. His chest was red, the blush covering almost his entire upper body. Rengoku's hands, which had been resting at his side, jerked up to grip your hips.
You squeaked, feeling the pressure of his grip around you. You tried to get distracted, but it was incredibly difficult when his grip would tighten and loosen depending on where in the stitching process you were.
His hips lifted, you seemed to have pinched him painfully, and his feet dug into the mattress. His hips filled to space of the gap between your legs, and if you weren't busy essentially stabbing the man, you might have the mind to do something about it. This man, I beg of you to have mercy...
You had no intention of moving until you were done, and when you were, you might have rolled your hips just barely. That seemed to catch the man's attention, a small whimper escaping his clenched teeth. He opened his eyes, finding you still resting above his hips and staring down at him. He sucked in a breath, hands still resting on your hips.
He decided, at that very moment, that he was done waiting. He sat up, albeit slowly, and wrapped his arms around your waist. "Please," he begged, resting his chin against the top of your chest.
You moved your hands to cup the back of his neck, moving closer to his face. He leaned in, silently begging you to take action. "May I kiss you Rengoku?" You asked sweetly.
"Kyojuro, please."
"Kyojuro?"
"Yes," he whined pathetically, grip tightening even more.
"Well then Kyojuro, may I kiss you?" You teased and brought your hand up to his hair. Gently grasping the roots, you pulled back slightly, exposing his neck to you. "Yes, please," he whimpered.
You smirked, gently leaning down and nipping just below his ear. He whined again, clearly not pleased with your course of action. You huffed, conceding and gripping his jaw in your unoccupied hand. "Behave," you reprimanded but kissed him nonetheless.
It was passionate and sloppy, but everything you could have asked for. "You're perfect," you sighed, continuing to kiss the man for everything he was worth. He hummed, reciprocating with the same amount of enthusiasm.
You pulled away, pecking his lips, nose, and cheeks. "I think that's enough for now. I don't want you to hurt yourself more or overexert yourself." You explained sweetly. He moaned in complaint, trying to engage with you again.
You gave him one last kiss before breaking his grip politely. "I'm sorry darling. It's what's best. If you rest you'll get better faster. And as soon as you're better, we can continue where we left off. How does that sound?" You challenged.
He shuffled closer but agreed. He wrapped his arms around your waist again and as you were about to reprimand him he spoke up, "please, just lay with me for now." He pleaded, already trying to bring you down with his own body.
You conceded, and he gently laid the two of you down in the small bed. YOu both barely fit, but you turned to face him, gently tucking his long hair behind his ear. He smiled at the show of affection, kissing your nose and laying his head back on the pillow.
He wanted to stare at you forever and would have done so had you not said anything about it. "It's best if you sleep Kyujuro, then you'll heal faster, remember?" He nodded, closing his eyes easily.
You heard shortly after, his breathing slow and calm. You smiled, cupping his cheek in your palm and resting your forehead against his own. "Sleep well Kyujuro," you whispered as you closed your own eyes. Just before you allowed sleep to overtake you, you swore you heard the door open and a stifled giggle escapes the person in the doorway.

I saw a comment about someone wanting to know what buff/ muscular Rengoku looked like, and I found a fanart of pretty much what I imagined when I wrote that scene. So here it is. I imagine him with a wider set of shoulders but other than that, it's pretty much *chef's kiss*.
