《She's Mother {Rengoku x Demon! Reader}》The Meeting Pt. 3 (15)

I'm hoping to have the special out soon! It's mainly a fluff and sexual tension chapter. It will have no effect on the plot and will be completely stand-alone. While it's important to have read the rest of the book to understand it, it will not be referenced in the main plot at any point. I hope you all enjoy it!
"Now do you all believe and maybe, even if just a bit, trust me?" You cocked your hip and quirked a brow. Rengoku, who was already learning to trust you, nodded his head vigorously. Mitsuri joined him, however, everyone else hesitated in their nodding.
Ubuyashiki stood shakily, "you're the moon hashira? You-you were the one who created it aren't you?" He laughed, almost hysterical. "You were the second Hashira, your story has been in my family for generations! I never thought..." He trailed off, laughter still bubbling in his throat. "I knew that sword was special, I knew it."
You were mildly concerned for the man, seeing as he appeared to be having some form of a psychotic break. "I was the moon Hashira, so many years ago. I was one of the first. I must have lost my sword when I died, I never knew what happened to it." You exhaled, "I thank you for returning it to me." One of the ladies accompanying Ubuyashiki nodded to you, and you responded in kind.
"My family has told your story for generations! To actually meet you.." Ubuyashiki trailed off again, resting his face in his hands, laughter still escaping him. He can't seem to let go of that fact, you thought, highly concerned for the man before you.
The Hashira seemed worried for their leader, as he was still trying to wrap his mind around the fact that one of the original Hashira was standing in front of him. He was almost hysterical in his laughter and the women accompanying him finally carted him away, much to your, and the others, relief.
Rengoku's eyes seemed glazed over when you finally looked at him again, however. "Rengoku?" You questioned, stepping closer to him as if he would spook and run away. "Are you alright?" You knelt in front of him, lifting a hand to gently place it on his shoulder.
His gaze seemed to snap back into focus, looking at you. His face flushed slightly at the proximity of the two of you. "You were a Hashira," he breathed. You tilted your head, mildly confused. "Yes, we've already established that."
"Why didn't you tell me?" He exhaled as he asked. "Well I-," you started, but stopped. Why hadn't you told him? You sat there, pondering the subject for a moment. "Because she didn't trust you," Akaza cut in firmly.
You both turned towards the other demon. "Akaza," you sighed. "Is that true?" Rengoku asked, hurt evident in his gaze. Sighing you turn back to face Rengoku. "It's not something I like to advertise heavily. I don't even know why I brought it up here, but I felt that I should lay all my cards on the table to help ensure our working together." You shrugged.
"I didn't want to put you or anyone else, myself included, in danger by knowing what I did hundreds of years ago." You turned your gaze away from the man, ashamed. "Why does Akaza know then?" Rengoku challenged.

Mitsuri stared at the confrontation, able to read her old master easily. He's jealous and hurt because she didn't tell him about being a Hashira. She couldn't help the grin from coming to her features.
"He..." You exhaled heavily, "he knew me when I was a Hashira." Rengoku balked at the new information. "He knew you when you were a hashira?" He repeated. You nodded, "yes. Because I was one of the first Hashira I was sent on all of the upper-level missions. All of them. That is how Akaza and I met at first. I only recruited him after I became a demon. Akaza wasn't able to kill me and didn't want to because of his 'code of ethics'." You spoke with air quotes.
He scooted closer to you, gently grasping one of your hands in his own. "How did you become a demon?" You flushed at the contact, turning to look around to avoid his intense gaze. You saw the other Hashira staring at you with almost the same amount of intensity Rengoku held.
"I'd rather not say right now," you leaned up to his ear and rested the hand that held yours on your sternum. He tried to pull his hand away, but you spoke first, "in front of everyone." He quickly understood why you had rested his hand there. It was so he could feel the vibrations and you wouldn't have to speak so loudly.
You released his hand, which he had quickly placed in his lap. He nodded at you, conveying his understanding. You stood up, glancing around you. "Does anyone else have any questions?"
Uzui decided not to speak about what he'd just heard, but had a question nonetheless. "Did you have a husband when you were a human, possibly?" He was teasing, you could feel it, but before you knew it he was settling right at your side.
You were bewildered by both his actions and the question. "I... did have a husband. Hundreds of years ago." You spoke, looking at him warily. "So it's been a while since a man has been in your life?" Your suspicion of the man just got bigger.
You could hear Rengoku's intake of breath and felt his body heat begin to project itself further. "That's incredibly-" Rengoku started, "rude!" Mitsuri and Akaza finished. You laughed at the three, "thank you for coming to my rescue you three. But it is a harmless question." You turned your attention back to the sound Hashira. "I've had Akaza, and my son's. They've grown into men. If you're insinuating that I haven't had a man in my life in the romantic sense, you'd be correct," Uzui opened his mouth to interject.
You raised your own hand to stop him, "and I'm perfectly okay with that. When another man catches my eye, both he and I will know. My intentions will be obvious. I'm a grown woman, I have no need to hide how I feel. If he already has a romantic partner, I will accept defeat." You spoke candidly.
Uzui drooped, looking defeated himself. You turned away from him, "any other questions?" Mitsuri raised her hand. You smiled at the young woman and nodded. "How many children do you have?" You raised a brow, curious as to why she wanted to know.

"Human children, both grown and not, around 15. Demon's," you paused to think, "I'd say around 10 or so." She turned to Rengoku, "wow what a large family! You always wanted a big family right master!?" Rengoku spluttered, trying to fight the coughing fit that so desperately wanted to shake his frame.
Shinobu crouched next to the still-injured Hashira, "are you alright?" He nodded, waving her off. He looked up at you, seeing your hand covering your mouth, but he could see from the crinkle around your eyes that you were holding in laughter.
Shinbo finally turned to you, giving you her regular fake smile. "Are you allergic to wisteria?" Her smile seemed to turn slightly sinister. "Yes, it makes us to itchy, it's infuriating honestly. Akaza actually picked open his skin earlier from it, but we'll be okay. If we were to inject large amounts we would probably die. I've never tested anything."
Shinobu's gaze turned deleterious, "could I run some tests?"
"Absolutely not! I will not offer myself, or my children just for you to torture them!" Your voice broke, remembering Kiyoko. "One of my children was killed. Her name was Kiyoko. She was recently turned, but we don't crave human flesh, it doesn't even taste good. But she was killed and eaten. I won't allow that to happen again." You grit. Shinobu seemed surprised but your new information, but dropped the subject.
Sanemi cut in, "what did you mean by my brother's 'cycle of weakness'. He's weak but you can't say that," his growl was everpresent in his voice. "I'm afraid I cannot say. Just know he has been doing unsavory things to prove himself to you, so why don't you appreciate that you still have some family alive? I'm sure you could walk up to anyone on the street and they would tell you to stop being such a dick."
Sanemi's brow twitched in clear anger. "If you don't like what I have to say then you may leave. The truth hurts Sanemi. Enjoy your remaining family while you still can. You said it yourself, he's weak. Make sure he knows you still love him while you are both alive." You stopped for a moment.
"I would give anything to have my children know that no matter what I, or they, did. My love for them is not conditional, and even in my darkest hour I loved them with my whole soul."
Sanemi was silent at your harangue, taking your words in. He would never admit it, but he listened to what you had to say, and would only slightly alter his actions in the future.
Giyuu spoke next, "do you like me?" You wheezed, "I'm sorry?" Rengoku was red in face with the jealousy heating his veins quickly.
"Do you dislike me then?" He questioned. "Well-no I don't dislike you. But I also don't know you enough to form a good opinion of you, however, Tanjiro has spoken highly of you so you must be a good person." You smiled at the water hashira.
He smiled ever so slightly at you, highly satisfied with your answer. He turned towards Shinobu, sticking his tongue out at her, "see?" She scoffed, rolling her eyes at him.
Mitsuri had an almost devious plan come to her mind in the heat of the moment. "May we try something Ms. (Y/n)?" She had a concerning grin covering her pretty face. "Sure?" You drawled, highly suspicious of what she wanted to try.
She walked up to a young boy, no older than 15, physically picked him up, and plopped him down next to you. You stared up at her, thoroughly confused. She pushed him into your side and lifted one of your arms to wrap around him.
He looked up at you, noticing that he had been moved. His gaze was immediately enraptured by the moons all over your clothing. He timidly picked up the fabric, his fingers tracing the pattern. "This is Muichiro, he's only 14," Mitsuri spoke quietly.
"14?" You asked, aghast. "Yeah, we don't know much about him because he doesn't speak much, really fixates on something. Once he does it's really hard to get his attention on something else, also a really forgetful kid." She shrugged.
You were aghast at his age, he is fighting demons when he's only a child, you thought bitterly. Muzan is going to be killed, and I hope I'm alive to see the light leave his eyes, your thoughts turned malicious quickly. When children were concerned your thought escalated far more quickly than if a child's health, well-being, and safety weren't concerned.
"Akaza," you didn't turn from the new boy who was still playing with your haori. "You may leave if you wish. I will meet you tomorrow night?" He nodded, hesitant to leave you. "I know Muzan will get suspicious, I'll be okay I promise." You smiled at him, tugging him down and lightly kissing his forehead.
Mitsuri awed loudly at your motherly affection. Akaza nodded, walking away from you slowly. They all watched him leave, slightly apprehensive at you being alone, but they all saw that your attention was completely absorbed by the boy next to you.
Mitsuri turned to Rengoku and nudged him. He turned to her, silently questioning her. She jerked her head over towards the two of you. Rengoku was still confused and not understanding the hits.
Mitsuri sighed and rolled her eyes, grabbing Rengoku's arm and hefting him to his feet. He followed her, still confused. She walked him to the other side of you, before pushing him down.
He folded easily, often forgetting how strong his former student was. He huffed as he fell, surprised by his sudden meeting with the ground again. You turned towards him, confused by his presence. He was just as confused as you were, and you both could only stare at each other.
Mitsuri ushered everyone away, and while some of them protested, most left easily. Mitsuri decided to stay close just in case, Uzui joined her. "Why are you staying behind?" Mitsuri inquired. "If my friend needs help I need to be here, also I want to see how this goes," he smiled mischievously. Mitsuri smiled back, the mischief as evident in her own smirk. "Same."

8 188When It Rains, It Pours
A train of thought compendium.I have them every now and then. Or to be more accurate, they have me. One offs. Shorts. Tales. Parables. Fables. And other weird things. This line has no schedule. No track number. No set destination. Sometimes it's an El. At other times, a space shuttle, taxi, caravan or fast moving treadmill. And every now and then it's a subway passing through underground caverns, littered with cobwebs. These sporadic ideas pop into my head at the weirdest of times. Some end in the middle. Some end with a fizzle. Some end with a bang.
