The other three Hashira were still berating Rengoku, so while the others were all still apprehensive, Mistusri decided that she liked you. So she decided to bond with you via Rengoku. She took advantage of everyone else's distraction to speak to you. "Ms. (Y/n)?" She inquired.
You turned to the beautiful woman, envy filling your chest. "Yes?" She seemed to hesitate, fidgeting in her seat. "How did you and Rengoku meet?" She finally asked. You were slightly taken aback, having figured that everyone already knew how the two of you met.
"Oh, well I figured you all already knew." You shrugged. She hummed but shook her head. "Nope," she smiled at you, leaning forward. She really wanted to know all the details. While Rengoku was smart, his social skills could fit in a teaspoon. He never knew when a woman was hitting on him, and he never knew how to interact with one romantically. Mitsuri took it upon herself to help the both of you in whatever way possible.
Mitsuri noticed that most of the boys were still distracted, so she crawled toward you. You leaned back, shuffling away as you didn't understand her intentions. She sat right in front of you, leaning into your space, "so tell me how you two met," she half demanded.
You were startled but conceded and took a deep breath as you began telling her about it. "Rengoku and I met when Akaza tried to kill him. Akaza had already hurt Rengoku, but I stopped Akaza right before he was able to wound Rengoku mortally." You took a pause, trying to gauge Mistrui's reaction.
She said nothing, only looked at you with extreme focus. "Akaza and I were supposed to meet for our monthly exchange anyway, but I heard the commotion from where I was waiting for him. I got there as quickly as I could, but Akaza had already hurt Rengoku. I was able to stop him and did my best to mediate the situation." Another breath.
"Rengoku actually tried to kill me," you looked at the ground and smiled bashfully, "he did his best to complete his job, but you all aren't as strong as demons are. And you always fight us when we're strongest, and when you are most vulnerable. Rengoku did truly put up a valiant fight." You took a moment to try and ease your heart, feeling it beat against your chest considering how nervous you were about her reaction.

"I'm stronger than Akaza, so there was no way he could have beat me, but he did his absolute best. I genuinely admire him for how hard he fought. He did his best to protect everyone there, and without him, those people would have probably never seen daylight again." You were fidgeting with your hands, still having a small smile on your face.
"But he tried to kill me, as he should have, and I fought him. I did hit him but purposefully didn't do anything more than bruise. I didn't want to hurt him, but to prove a point. He was fun too, which I hate to say, but he was a worthy opponent, and at our skill level that's so hard to find."
You looked up at Mitsuri, and she was blushing wildly. She grabbed your hands and clasped them with her own. She pulled them towards her chest, "that's beautiful Ms. (Y/n)." She smiled widely at you, and you couldn't help but reciprocate.
You didn't quite understand her interest or the interaction, but an ally or a friend could always be useful. You hoped you had helped make her more comfortable with working with you but knew that when you have been trained to kill demons, having to work with one would be a huge change.
She seemed to have read your mind, touching her nose to your own. You couldn't help but blush, the woman being so close was intimidating. "I hope we can be good friends, may I just call you (Y/n)?" Her smile never wavered.
"Of course, you may. Is it okay if I call you Mitsuri?" She absolutely lit up at your question. "Of course, you can!" She cried out. Her exclamation attracted the attention of the other Hashira, all of them turning towards the two of you.
A man with a snake around his neck appeared to be absolutely livid at how close to you she was. She smiled at everyone, wrapping her arm around you and tugging you forward. You laughed nervously, "everyone! Meet my new friend!" She yelled out.

You could vaguely hear Akaza growling, clearly jealous but you elected to ignore it. Obanai, at least that's who you believe it is, was doing his best not to jump down from his tree and kill you. He must like her, you thought offhandedly.
You had no ill will towards any of these people and hoped they would soon believe you. But Mitsuri liked you well enough so you hoped her liking for you would help the other Hashira get past their, completely valid, dislike of you.
She was almost crawling on top of you at this point, and you couldn't help but laugh at her childish behavior. "Don't laugh at her," Obanai growled at the two of you. You were mildly confused but didn't want to cause any problems. "Don't talk to her like that," Mitsuri cut in and puffed out her cheeks. "We're having fun and she's not laughing at me, in fact, I don't think she even could laugh at someone if she wanted to. She's too nice," Mitsuri huffed and crossed her arms.
Obanai seemed to be at a loss for words, trying to form words but failing anyway. She stuck her tongue out at him and proceeded to rub her face against your shoulder.
You lightly wrapped your arm around her shoulder, already feeling a strong sense of friendship with the woman. Akaza couldn't help his jealous nature and tucked himself into your other side. The Hashira could only stare at the three of you, absolutely flabbergasted at the interaction.
Rengoku did his best to not look overjoyed by the interaction. He had a feeling Mitsuri might take to you easily. Mitsuri lacked quality parental figures and the way people, especially children, flocked to you, Rengoku knew you were a good mother.
Sanemi finally broke the wholesome moment. "So are we just going to ignore the fact that Rengoku allowed these two to live!" You sighed, of course, he had to ruin the moment.
Rengoku also seemed taken aback at the statement, having risked his life to save the people on the train and kill the two of you. "Rengoku did his best, he saved so many lives that day," Mitsuri defended her former master. You would rather the other Hashira defend Rengoku because if you did it could end poorly for Rengoku.
Obanai spoke up, "yeah, you really failed Rengoku," he spoke up. You could see Rengoku flinch, but his wide smile never left his face. Sanemi seemed to have gotten confidence from Obanai's comment, a sneer making its way onto his face.
"You really let two measly demons get the better of you? How did you even become a Hashira? What a failure," Sanemi snarled. Mitsuri tried to defend her former master, but Sanemi and Obanai were a hurtful machine against the poor man.
Your whole body had been tense since they began to speak, and you would no longer tolerate the slander being thrown Rengoku's way. "That's enough!" You yelled, standing up.
Mitsuri caught her balance on your leg, Akaza simply sat up and looked at you confused. "Rengoku would have given his life for those people on that train, and had I not stepped in, he would have died. Akaza was moments from killing him, and I was only barely able to stop him in time. Could any of you do better?" You sneered.
You hadn't wanted to do this, but it had gone too far, and you would not allow them to continue to belittle Rengoku. "Could any of you defeat me or Akaza?" You questioned sarcastically. And just as one of them was about to step up to you, a person came around the corner of the house.
