《Black Cat » The Vampire Diaries》This Party is on Fire

The room was on fire, literally.
I, myself, can't quite understand how that escalated so fast. The smoke making harder to see clearly, and harder to breathe. Humans were screaming around, trying to run out of the house. At least the ones that weren't already dead on the floor.
"One hell of a date, am I right?" Kol asked from my right side, grinning like a maniac. His white shirt stained with blood, much like his lips. Kol Mikaelson was in his element- chaos, blood, and human screams. I had to admit it was quite the sight, and he still looked freakishly dashing.
"I've had worse ones." I replied with a shrug while my eyes were screening the room for exits, starting at the vampire pirate would have to wait because I never really wanted to die by fire.
"Does that mean you admit this is a date?" Kol asked turning to me quickly, his grin a bit more tender. I looked back at him without saying a word, I did just kind of admit that didn't I? Damn it, I hate losing. I'm just going to pretend I didn't say anything, I'm petty like that.
"Oh, how about we get the heck out of the house on fire?" Caroline snapped, her hands on her hips like the Moma Bear she was. (Caroline was all for Kennett, but now wasn't the time!)
"I quite agree with blondie here." Enzo said, his face full of blood since he had been thirsty for decades and had a room full of the assholes who imprisoned him as a free buffet. He looked like a kid on a candy shop, well, the bloody version of that at least.
"Indeed, our best plan would be to leave the house and hunt down the survivors." Elijah agreed, shrugging off ashes from his suit very regally.
"There's no exit, everything is on bloody fire." Enzo said, checking the doors for escape routes.
"Good thing we have an ice witch to fight off the hot flames." Kol said, before turning slowly and dramatically towards me. Was I the only one that remembered that ice melted because of fire?
"Fine." I said, rolling my eyes. Of course, I was getting our ass out of the flames. Town witch does the impossible again, why the fuck not? "This, however, doesn't mean this is a date."
I turned to the closest door, which was burning quickly, and put my hand's ups. I closed my eyes and focused. I've never actually done this before, but there's a first for everything. Plus, I didn't feel like dying again and since I was with a bunch of vampires I was the one in more danger anyway.
I focused on my heartbeat and started to freeze the water in the air. Breath in, breath out. It was hard as fuck, every time I froze the water it melted from the fire. As it continued to burn, the water in the air too would disappear and evaporate.
"Come on Bonnie you got this." Caroline called out, always the cheerleader.
"And do it quickly Maze." Enzo said, as he and Elijah kept on ripping hearts from the few Augustine assholes still alive.
"You're impossible witch, do the impossible." Kol said from close by, his voice almost whispered in my ear.
I focused on the ice, on the cold. I remember the cold Decembers. The snowy days, ice cream on hot days. The cold seawater on my skin, my feet without socks on the stone-cold floor. Forgetting the hot flames around me in the room all I could feel and remember was the ice and the cold.

I am Bonnie freaking Bennett, and in case anyone was doubting it, I am fucking epic.
With a scream I let out all the rage inside, some puny fire wasn't going to kill me.

After History class with Riklaus I decided to put my plan in action. Klaus was here, and tonight he would be terrorizing the dance like a typical big bad. Meanwhile, it was the perfect time to steal Kol's corpse, which I would then trade for Elijah's help in freeing Enzo. I hadn't forgotten him; I gave him a sliver of hope I couldn't not rescue him.
I needed intel; it was time to go check out on Enzo. I sat down on my living floor and used 'blinking' to find Lorenzo St. John. In a blink, I found myself away from my home and in Augustine's labs.
Enzo was sitting against the wall of his cell, his head down as if he was resting his eyes and taking a nap. Or maybe just done with life, you never know.
I focused on my throat so that he could hear me. I had trained it a few times with Care, it was all about me projecting my voice while mentally focusing what I want to say. After this sacrifice business was done I was totally going to play with this, controlling the vibrations of my voice sounded too much like the canary cry to be ignored.
"Enzo." I said, trying to see if it was working. The vampire head snapped up, as he looked around to see anyone. I guess it was working after all.
"It's Maze, I'm projecting," I informed him. "You know, the witch that cursed that doctor jerk with eternal torment and whatnot."
"Why can't I see you?" Enzo asked looking around as if doubting I was real. I guess if I had been locked down and tortured for decades and started hearing voices I might have doubted my mental sanity as well.
"I'm too far away for that, whatever, I'm coming to rescue you." I said, not planning on explaining the whole ritual which gave me weird cool powers, we weren't besties yet after all.
"What?" He asked, shocked. "What do you mean rescue me? If they can catch a vampire, a witch would be easy."
"Chill, I have a plan. It includes theft, a deal or two, and an Original coming with me to help you." I easily explained, with a shrug. Yup, it sounds like a normal weekday for me indeed.
"An Original what?" Enzo asked with a frown.
"An OG vamp, one of the firsts of your own kind." I told him; vampires should know their history. "A thousand-year-old vampire immune to wood to the heart. You got it? It's a plan of epic proportions."
"How are you going to do it?" Enzo asked, still not believing me.
"That's what I came to ask, I need information on when it's best to strike." I informed.
"Two days from now, there's a party." Enzo explained. "It's a masked party, Augustine members don't want to be recognized even by each other. I'll be there, they like to show me off like a good pet."
"Wouldn't It be easier to get you from here?" I asked, a party had numerous problems. Infiltration was hard, plus a lot of eyes around. The only way it could end was in a bloodbath. "But you don't want easy..." I stated, looking at Enzo carefully. "You want revenge, you want rivers of blood. Naughty, naughty."

"Are you going to deny me this?" Enzo quietly asked, but he was smirking. He was probably imagining himself killing all of Augustine, good on him.
"Who am I to deny the cries of vengeance?" I replied with a laugh. "I'll really need Elijah then, it's going to get bloody. You will owe me for this, I'm just telling you. Anyway, do you know where most of those assholes come from? South, North?"
"From their accents, I'd say most are from the South, why?" Enzo replied. "I will owe you forever if you get me out of here."
"I'll need to get myself a way in, won't I?" I replied with a smirk and a plan in mind. "You have yourself a deal then, don't you go regretting that later."
With a blink I was out of there, and with a gasp my back hit the floor. I still needed to train that landing.
A party wasn't it? Maybe Caroline will be up for it.

"Can you stop staring at me?" I asked with a huff, from the back of Elijah's car. "It's Edward Cullen weird, and plain creepy."
"I've been staring at you for weeks now, it's not my fault you couldn't see me before." Kol replied with a smirk as if amused by my reaction. Is my life a teenage romance novel with a stalker-ish vampire as a male lead? May the Gods help me set him on fire or freeze him to death, I'm not picky.
Caroline, who was sitting on the front seat, glanced at us and snickered. I narrowed my eyes at her, yes Caroline I can see your amusement from back here and I'm not pleased. Then I mentally smirk- just you wait until Klaus start's stalking you, sister, then you'll understand my pain.
"What is the plan then?" Elijah inquired, looking at us through the mirror.
"Isn't it obvious brother? We go in, we kill everyone and we leave." Kol replied, rolling his eyes at his brother.
"Actually, no." I informed, as If I would do anything without a plan. "According to my information, most of the people in that party are southerners, which means that at least most of them will come through the highway. Elijah, drive up until we reach the highway exit and then park around there please."
"What are you up to little witch?" Kol arched his eyebrows, curious about the plan.
"Well, the best way to crash a party is to actually get an invitation." I explained with a smirk.
"A snack before the party, darling I like the way you think." He replied, catching on.
__
Elijah parked the car and I used blinking to check the cars, a few miles away, that were driving in our direction. It didn't take me long until I found two cars coming in this direction, each with a couple, that was dressed for a mascarade party.
"The next two cars have Augustine members." I informed, coming back into my body. Luckily this time I didn't fall down as Caroline grabbed me.
"How are we doing this? Should I just lie on the ground and pretend to be dead or something?" Kol inquired. His stalkerish tendencies were showing, he probably had been stalking Damon recently, that or Katherine.
"No time for that." I said as the first car appeared. I crouched down to the ground and put my hand down, quickly freezing the entire road. If I knew how to do something with my icy powers was freezing the floor like motherfucking Elsa.
The cars came out of the highway at high speed, as soon as the tires landed on the ice the cars skidded even faster. The drivers, noticing the state of the road tried to go for the breaks which in turn made them lose the control of the vehicles. It took less than a second before the first car flipped over, while the second one hit the first one.
Caroline just gaped at the whole thing with wide eyes, shocked out of her mind. Elijah carried on with his elegant and even bored look on his face as if this was a normal day occurrence to him. While Kol saw the chaos and grinned, the maniac looked excited.
"Bonnie, Jesus fuck!" Care cursed, looking at me mindblown. I shrugged my shoulders and started walking towards the cars. This was bound to be a bloody night, I just started earlier than expected. I guess my murder-y tendencies where showing, but we were dealing with freaking Nazi wannabe torturers here and I was never the forgiving type anyway.
Kol followed after me and we soon reached the destroyed cars. The first couple, from the car that had flipped over, was already dead. Before the car could blow up or something I managed to grab the woman's purse where I found the written invitation.
"I guess you can have the other couple since this one is dead." I told Kol, who looked at me as if he was seeing me for the first time.
"Bonnie lass, I love the way you foreplay." Kol said with a wink before flashing at vampire speed to the other car where I could hear groans from the injured people inside.
"Don't forget to get their invitation dumbass, and don't make it obvious they died from being a vampire snack!" I called out, really this guy was like a toddler.
I walked back towards Elijah and Caroline, she had lost that freaked out look on her face and as soon as I reached them she turned towards me.
"I knew this day was coming, after years of telling you not to tell me when you committed crimes so I was could have plausible deniability there was bound to be a day I would get involved because I couldn't skip a party." She said with a sigh. "I guess it could have been worse, you could have killed Elena in her sleep. At least it was neo-nazi vampire haters."
"You should be proud of me Care, my first actual murder and I literally killed for a party invitation. Look at me doing social events like a normal human being." I joked back.
Before she could say anything back Kol joined his while cleaning the blood from the corners of his lips, with an invitation on his other hand.
"So, shall we get to this party or what?" He said, and we all nodded and got back in the car.
It was time to rescue Enzo from the Hydra equivalent of this universe, what could possibly go wrong?
__
"So let me explain the plan." I informed the group as we reached the party at Whitmore College. "First of all, we're going to infiltrate the party using the invitations. We have to divide into two groups, a couple each. They don't use names inside, it's all hush-hush since it's a Secret Society and all. The hard part is getting invited in since they're all on vervain. But, luckily for us, I got a way around that. Don't ask me how, because I wouldn't be able to tell you. Just put this on."
I pulled three necklaces from my tiny bag and gave one to each of them. I had to call Tessa and ask for a favor. Actually that wasn't what happened. I was just talking about this part of the plan with Emily when Tessa showed up and threw those talismans at me and said I owed her and that they would help a vampire enter without an invitation but that they would only last 24 hours.
Would you look at that, I'm pretty sure she learned that with me. Old dogs really can learn new tricks. Either way, I was in her debt since she fixed the major problem with my plan. Although I totally planned on interrogating her on how she made those things. Was I surprise she could pull that off? Not really, we're talking about the mother of immortality here; she's so badass she could rule the world if she wasn't dead. Hell, she made her own world where she rules after she died, that's how epic my ancestor is.
"How did you get such a thing?" Elijah asks, observing the talisman in his hand.
"Let's just say I have super duper trooper ancestors who are awesome." I replied with a smirk. "It will only last 24h after you put it on, so don't go getting any ideas." At that, I looked at Kol. "Yes, you maniac I'm looking at you, don't think you're going to get into my house that easily."
He put his hands up as if pretending to look innocent. "The thought never crossed my mind, but thank you for mentioning it darling. You're brilliant, such good ideas you have. One can do so much in 24 hours, like break a bed in for the first time."
I groaned and covered my face with my hands, I really wanted to bury myself now.
"He's got you there Bon." Caroline said amused, as she put her talisman on.
"While I also find the conversation amusing I believe we have a party to infiltrate." Elijah, the voice of reason, said having put his on as well.
Caroline put her arm around Elijah's and pulled him in the direction of the house. "Let's go Elijah, if we have to way for these two we might as well take the whole night."
"Caroline, I haven't explained the rest of the plan." I called out.
"Rescue Enzo, kill everyone. I got it Bon Bon. Elijah and I will be going in first, don't take too long you two." Caroline replied with a wink and carried on. I'm pretty sure she was leaving me with Kol on purpose. If this was payback for shipping Klaroline so hard, I guess I did deserve it.
I let out another exasperated sigh and turned towards the Original in a tux next to me. "Well, there goes my plan of Elijah being my date to the murder party."
Kol puts his hand to his chest, being dramatically offended. "Bonnie lass, that hurt right in the heart. How could you want to take Elijah to something you call a murder party instead of me? He's a bore, always serious and no fun at all."
"Right, instead I have you. The creepy ghost that has been stalking me for God knows how long, I mean, did you stalk me in the shower too?" I roll my eyes at the vampire. "Plus Elijah has good hair."
"I have to admit, I might have, once or twice. But in my defense, I only did it because I'm all for you doing the same. Elijah has good hair, but I have good everything" He replied with a grin, his eyes going down my figure.
Now, had I been a normal teenager I might have staked him on the spot. Peeking on others in the shower was not ok, but hey, I was proud of my body and in my past life I had even gone to nudist beaches while in Europe anyway. I wasn't embarrassed about my body, nor would I feel embarrassed about someone seeing it. I was hot, and I owned that shit. Instead of being mad I think I surprised Kol when I grinned instead and copied the look he gave me.
"Well..." I said, looking him up and down. "I guess I'll astrally project into when you're in the shower when you least expect, and you'll never know when I'll be watching. After that, maybe I'll take a peek at Elijah next. You know, compare the goods."
He narrowed his eyes and took a step closer and whispered. "You're playing with fire darling, you might get burned."
"Good thing I can control ice to fight off those hot flames of yours." I replied with a taunting smirk, looking him right in the eyes with my head up.
Kol bit his lower lip and his eyes darkened, but no dark veins in sight. Before this could escalate, we had a plan to accomplish. I threw my hair over my shoulder and put on my party mask, before locking our arms together.
"Now's not the time, we have a murder party to crash and a vampire to rescue from a nazi secret society," I informed, as Kol opened his mouth to say something. "The foreplay will have to wait a bit longer pirate."
He grinned down at me and put his mask on as well. Before we reached the door he whispered at me. "Role-playing darling? I guess you and I are a match made in hell. I'll be your pirate any day, but only if you're my bar wench."
Before I could give him a glare the front door was open, and I put my best fake smile on display. I would deal with the flirty vampire on my arm later, maybe I could buy myself an iron maiden online and put him inside for a decade or two.
Now, it was time to play the role, get inside, and rescue Enzo. This was going to be a walk in the park.
I really should have been careful, I'm pretty sure I had jinxed myself.

8 102The Swarm
Anthony had been looking forward to playing the hottest new virtual reality game. When he put the VR helmet on he was met with a prompt asking him if he wanted to take a test to become a swarm knight. Thinking that this was one of the classes in the game he accepted. Instead of finding himself in the game, Anthony found that he was transported to a different planet. A planet where he would learn the greater truth of the universe. Everything was based on magic in the universe. Except that magic was based on nanorobots, called the swarm, that had been created through highly advanced technology. Genetics determined the access level and the amount of control that someone could wield over the swarm, and therefore their status in this society. Long ago Earth had been cutoff from the swarm. Now that it had been rediscovered, Earth would be reintegrated into the swarm. Unfortunately when that happened all the current technology on Earth would fail and be replaced with the ability to use magic. In effect, it would be the system apocalypse. As someone able to control the swarm, Anthony found himself in the unique position to influence how Earth was reintegrated into the swarm. Perhaps he could change things enough to save most of the people on Earth. But first he would have to learn how to control the swarm and become one of the leaders in the society he found himself in. Warning: If this fiction was a movie I'd rate it somewhere between PG-13 and R for occasional scenes of violence, gore, and nudity.
