《The Land of Stories: The Adventure Continues》Alex's Help

In Camelot, it was a beautiful evening. Alex and her family never had a real family meal in a long time, becuase Arthur would always be doing his King duties, but today he promised one. That evening, Alex sat at her dinner table waiting for her husband and her twin girls to join her for their family meal.
"Hi mommy." Alex's daughter Annabelle said walking into the dining room and sat down next to her.
Annabelle was bookworm, a dreamer and was incredibly smart just like her mother. Annabelle always had her strawberry blonde hair with bangs in a high bun with little white flowers in it and she wore a pink dress with white flats.
"Mom I love this book. Thank you again." Annabelle said.
"Awe, your welcome Annabelle." Alex said. "I remember loving that book when I was your age."
"I want to be like Alice one day. I want to travel to another world where everything is colorful and beautiful." Annabelle said. "Hey mom, could I use your portal potion?"
"No you cannot." Alex said. "When your older, we'll go into all the books you want and we'll meet all your favorite characters."
"Really?! Thank you mommy." Annabelle hugged her mother and that's when her father and her identical twin sister Allyson came into the room.
Allyson was the complete opposite of Annabelle. She loved to sword fight, go on adventures, and learn spells from Mother Goose and Merlin. Allyson and Annabelle were both born with magical abilities, but the twins were being trained to do completely different things. Allyson was destined to be queen of Camelot, and Annabelle was destined to be the future Fairy Godmother. So while Allyson practiced her magic with Merlin and Mother Goose, Annabelle learned from her mother and the fairies in the Fairytale World.
Allyson was blonde and always wore her hair in a ponytail, and wore a dark blue dress with a belt with a pocket that was meant for a sword. Even though Alex would never allow her to put a real sword in it, or even fight with one.

"You two are late." Alex said.
"I'm sorry my darling, I had a last minute meeting with the knights of the round table." Arthur said and kissed his wife's forehead and sat next to her at the head of the table.
"Hey Annabelle, guess what I learned about today with Merlin?" Allyson said.
"What?" Annabelle asked putting down her book.
"I learned how to shape shift." Allyson said and smiled. "Well I only learned to transform into a mouse, but it was awesome."
"What? I don't know that yet." Annabelle said and looked at her mother. "Mom why? That sounds so cool."
"Merlin and I teach different things. So there will be things Allyson will know and somethings you will know. The good thing about this is that, then you can teach each other the spells you don't know." Alex said. "It will be a good sister thing you two can do."
"So girls, your sixth birthday is in two days," Arthur said. "Have you decided what you want to do?"
"I would like to travel to the Otherworld to see grandma and grandpa." Allyson said.
"I would love to do that too, and see Uncle Conner and Aunt Bree." Annabelle said.
"I think that sounds like a great idea. Let's do it." Arthur said. Suddenly a guard came into the dining room.
"Your highnesses, you have some visitors." The guard said.
The girls, Alex and Arthur got up from their seats, and walked down the hallway and saw Conner and Bree, with Charlie, Matthew, Elizabeth and Carrie.
"Conner? Bree? What are you do doing here? And who are these people?" Alex asked.
"Are you my aunt Alex?" Charlie asked.
"Yes I'm Alex. Wait, did you say aunt?" Alex asked. "Conner who are these people?"
"Alex let me introduce to you me and Bree's future children. Elizabeth, and her daughter Charlie, our son Matthew, and our youngest Carrie."
Alex and Arthur stood there with their mouths open. They were very confused.

"It's been a very weird day." Bree said.
"Yes, it's been very weird day." Matthew said.
"What's going on uncle Conner?" Allyson asked.
"Apparently something has happened in the future and we are needed to help." Conner said. "Along with Red, Goldilocks, Jack, and Froggy."
"Ok, what's happening?" Alex asked Elizabeth.
"Listen we have no idea. We just learned that this all existed today. We're from the year 2080, and we were sent to get you because future you has been taken." Elizabeth said.
"Awesome." Allyson and Annabelle said.
"How is that awesome?" Charlie asked.
"That's awesome because it's an adventure!" Allyson said and put her fist up in the air.
"You'd be wishing for one if you were trapped in a castle all day with nothing to do but practice magic, learn and read." Annabelle said.
"Believe me, I would love your life. Your life sounds so cool. My life stinks." Charlie said. "I would love to learn magic instead of history, and science."
"Your life does not stink." Elizabeth said. "You have me, your father, your grandpa, Matt, Carrie and all your cousins."
"Why wasn't I mentioned?" Bree asked out of curiosity.
"Oh, in our time...you have already passed. You passed a few months ago." Elizabeth said.
"I think that's part of the reason we all agreed to this, so we could see you again." Matthew said getting choked up. "You were a huge part of our lives, you taught us so many life lessons, and I guess we weren't ready to say goodbye when we did."
Bree started to cry. She hadn't known her future children for long, but from the moment she found out who they were she knew that they were her children. They weren't just strangers, she knew they all had a connection. Bree wiped away some tears and hugged all her children. Conner smiled and got into the group hug as well.
"This is very sweet, but do we have a world to save? If so we have some people to get, and a plan needs to be made." Alex said.
"I agree, let's go get our friends." Conner said.
"Mom can we go?" Allyson asked her mother.
"No darling. You stay here with your father, I'll be back in time for your birthday. I promise." Alex said and kissed her girls on the forehead. "Let's go to the Fairytale world."
...........................
A few hours later they were all sitting in Red and Froggy's library and Charlie explained everything to the new additions to their group.
"I don't get it. Who could be taking over?" Goldilocks asked. "I thought all the villains were dead."
"Yeah, I thought so too. Didn't we kill them all in New York?" Jack said. "Who would be taking over?"
"Conner their right." Alex said. "We know for sure, Grandma had no more children after Lloyd. The Snow Queen is dead, the Sea Witch is dead, all the witches are dead. I don't think any of the Fairies would do this, so who? Who did we miss?"
"I think I know." Froggy said.
"Who Charlie?" Red asked.
"The Evil Queen."
"That's impossible. She's trapped." Conner said.
"No, before I came out of the mirror during the war, the Evil Queen did. She promised she would only do good, maybe she broke her promise."
"Or maybe it's one of her descendants." Bree said. "We are talking about the future here."
"We'll have to go and see." Alex said. "Are you four in?"
"Of course we are Alex. We don't want to see our home fall." Goldilocks said.
"Let's go to the future." Conner said. "Wait how do we get there?"
"We have the spell, we'll just use it again." Carrie said. "We have an object from our time, which is our phones, we need a leaf from the Elf tree and a unicorns hair. The Land of Stories book is in your house...Dad, so all we have to do is go there."

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!

Embracing it's nature, carrying slaughters and unspeakable horrors, these are mere trivialities for the being. After all, it's not known as the Slaughterer for nothing. [In case you don't know, this is a redo of Starvation March. The synopsis is kinda shit, but still. I tried.]
