《The Millionaires Pursuit》Chapter 34

Erik clutched Rosaline's hand, as he led the two of them up the stairs of the private plane. He could sense both her excitement and nerves through the grip on his hand, but he couldn't find himself to tell her that she might have been squeezing his hand unnecessarily too tight. Instead, Erik simply smiled in her direction and did everything he possibly could to make sure Rosaline felt safe and comfortable.

"So, what do you think? Is everything to your liking?" He asked her in a hopeful tone.

"Erik, this is far beyond my wildest expectations." She truthfully replied, whilst taking a window seat along one of the few cushioned recliners, lined up along the far end of the plane.

"You're worth it though sweetheart." Erik easily answered, with a proud grin etched onto his face.

During take off, Erik observed every tiny detail on Rosaline's face. He didn't want to miss not even a second of her exaggerated expressions. He took comfort in the fact that her anxiety had settled and instead she seemed thrilled by the idea of flying in a private plane with a clear birds eye view of their surroundings. Every now and again her lips would curve up into a childish smile or she would turn to Erik and offer his cheek a peck, as a way of displaying her gratitude. So far into their trip, Erik was happy with himself and the way Rosaline was evidently enjoying their time together.

Sometime during their flight, the single air hostess aboard the plane served a platter consisting of a light breakfast which included some fruit, yoghurt and juice. Erik insisted it to be this way as he knew once they arrived at their destination he would want to treat Rosaline to a gourmet breakfast, one which would fuel both their bodies for the activities he had planned.

"Thank you." Rosaline sweetly smiled at the air hostess, once she had placed the platter of food on a nearby table.

"Can I pour you some orange juice sweetheart?" Erik kindly asked Rose.

"Please." She politely accepted.

After sipping on her juice and nibbling on some skewed pieces of fruit, Rosaline sat back in the recliner and rested her head against Erik's broad chest. She basked in those moments of silence, as it gave her an opportunity to remember how lucky she was to have found someone as selfless, generous and loving as Erik. She suddenly felt a wave of emotion overcome her, partly brought on by the difficult past week she had experienced, but nevertheless she remained grateful for having Erik in her life. She chose that next instance to stroke his cheek, as she leaned even closer towards him and offered him a slow and sensual kiss.

"Not sure what I did to deserve that, but I'll take it." Commented Erik after Rosaline had pulled away.

She playfully hit his chest, before giving him a sincere look.

"If I've ever given you any doubts as to how I feel about you or us then I hope that kiss helped show how much you mean to me. I know things haven't exactly been easy with my family and I'm sorry to have dragged you into that mess, but I can't tell you how thankful I am that you still chose to stick around and fight for me Erik. I don't think I'll ever be able to tell you just how much I love you." Rosaline bravely admitted, with a slight tremble in her voice.

Erik tenderly stoked Rosaline's hair and smiled in awe at her honest confession. It wasn't common for her to express herself in a way that made her look vulnerable, but for what it was worth, Erik had somehow fallen even more in love with her in that moment.

"I love you sweetheart." Erik simply told her, while sealing their lips in yet another passionate embrace.

Another hour had passed, during which time Erik and Rosaline were preparing themselves to make their way off the private plane. They had only just landed and were currently waiting to be given permission to stand from their seats and exit. With only a few small bags of luggage in Erik's hand, he extended his other hand over to Rosaline to hold. She naturally accepted and inhaled the chilly air, as the two lovers walked outside and witnessed for the first time the landscapes which belonged to the snowy mountains of Glasslea. Mountains upon mountains that were covered in white, thick snow surrounded the area. As it was still early in the day, the sunshine was yet to break through the coniferous forest, however the sight was still indeed a magical one. In the short distance, a car was parked and waiting for Erik and Rosaline. As the couple quickly approached it, Rosaline noticed something peculiar.

"No driver?" She intriguingly asked.

"I figured we could use the privacy." Erik winked in reply, which only caused Rosaline to blush in response.

"Is this a Bentley?" Rosaline commented, as they unloaded their luggage into the trunk of the car.

"Sure is sweetheart." Erik answered, before holding the passenger door open for her.

"You spoil me." She responded, before joining their slightly cold lips together in a loving kiss.

During the half hour drive towards their alpine retreat, Erik and Rosaline engaged in casual conversation and remarked the breathtaking flora around them. Of course, Rosaline had previously gone on family holidays to the snow, however there was something significantly unique about travelling and spending time with Erik in a place that enabled both fun and romance. Driving along a pebbled road, Rosaline soon realised they had come in reach of their destination. Pulling up alongside the property, Rosaline was positively stunned by the large expanse and luxuriousness of the house where Erik and her would be residing in for the next two days.
