"Hey, can I talk to you guys about something?" I approach the couch where Finneas and Claudia are sat.

"Of course," Claudia smiles, Finneas nodding his head. I sit in the chair opposite them, a little nervous but I don't know why.

"Okay so, you remember everything about Hazelee and how she was taken from Carter?"

"Yeah," Finneas confirms.

"So last night James was high on who the fuck knows what and dropped Hazelee off at Carter's. I know Carter doesn't want to have to take care of her forever but also she isn't safe at James' house," I explain sadly.

"I just wish I knew how to help her," I frown, looking up at the two of them who make eye contact and I wonder what they are silently communicating about.

"I get it Bil," Finneas sighs, "Claudia and I will talk and see if we can come up with something."

"You know they are both welcome here, right?" Claudia asks warmly.

"That's sorta also why I brought it up. I know Finn and I need to work today but Carter is sitting around in her apartment all day and Claudia I was wondering if you would want to hang out with Carter and Hazelee?"

"Oh my god, yes! Invite them over! I've been dying to meet Hazelee and get to know Carter better," Claudia exclaims.

"Thank you so much," I smile, going over to hug them both. They always make me feel better.

"Where we go?" Hazelee asks adorably as I pick out an outfit for her.

"Billie invited us to her brother's house," I explain in simple words.

"Bil-Bil," she claps, making me smile as I pick her a romper and a jean jacket. Something I've loved is dressing Hazelee, she looks cute in anything but I enjoy picking out the most adorable clothes.

After the decently short drive to Finneas and Claudia's house, I'm feeling a little nervous. Billie told me she and Finneas need to work for a few hours so Claudia was going to hang out with us. I've only had short interactions with Claudia and she seems so perfect. So put together, no flaws at all. But I trust Billie and so far I've gotten along with everyone in her family and according to Billie, Claudia is family.

Holding Hazelee's hand and her diaper bag in the other I ring the doorbell, anxiously waiting for it to open up. "Hey," Claudia smiles, pulling me in for a hug.

"Hey Claudia," I pull away and she instantly squats down to greet Haze. "Hi Hazelee, I'm Claudia."

"Hi, Cwadia," Hazelee waves.

Claudia invites us in, leading us to the living room where there's a plate of cookies set on the coffee table. Hazelee reaches for one but I call out her name, causing her to look up at me with guilt.

"It's okay, I made them for you guys," Claudia chuckles.

"Tanks," Hazelee thanks her before taking a bite.

"Billie wanted me to send you two downstairs to say hi before we go," Claudia says.

"Go?" I question.

"Yeah, If you're okay with it I wanted to take you to this field that's full of flowers. It's beautiful and I think Hazelee would like it."

"Yeah sure," I smile, "Hazelee, do you want to come see Billie?"

She nods her head, cookie in hand as I lead her down the steps and into the studio.

"My favourite people," Billie exclaims, lifting Hazelee up and into the air, making her giggle.

"I thought I was your favourite person?" Finneas frowns jokingly.

"Not anymore," Billie teases. "Hazelee, this is Finny," Billie says, pointing to him.

"Hi, Finny," Hazelee waves before taking another bite of the cookie. Billie sets her down and engulfs me in a hug.

"You okay my love?" She whispers in my ear and I simply nod before pulling away. I might just start crying if she holds me for too long.

"You sure?" She smiles sadly and we both turn around when we hear the piano. Hazelee is sat in Finneas' lap as she practically hammers the keys but she looks so happy.

"Wow, that sounds great," I chuckle. "Come on Hazelee, let's go look at some flowers."

"Wow," I exhale, "this is actually beautiful!" I exclaim, an entire field of different coloured flowers sprawled out.

"Right? I thought Hazelee would love it." Claudia smiles.

"Looks like she does."

"So, how are things with Billie?" Claudia wiggles her brows.

"Oh-um, she's a great person..."

"She told me last night," Claudia chuckles.

"Oh."

"You make her so happy Carter. I've never seen her like this, she is always talking about you and she really cares about you and Hazelee."

A blush creeps onto my cheeks as Claudia speaks, both of our eyes on Hazelee as she runs around, occasionally smelling a flower.

"She makes me happy too."
