A/N: It's 10 am, my blinds are closed, the sun just seeping through enough to light up my room. There are about 7 cans of diet coke on my nightstand along with my meds. Clothes are piled up on my desk, an empty chip bag on my floor. My writing playlist playing softly through my Alexa. I have just enough motivation to write but damn I really need to clean up this hell hole. Anyways, enjoy lovelies. Your comments and votes make me happy.

Drew went to public school and knew Carter in twelfth grade. They were good friends until Carter started dealing drugs and Drew ghosted her. Carter isn't aware that Billie is friends with Drew.

"Okay so I sorta did something, please don't be mad," Finneas says nervously, swivelling his chair to face Billie and I.

"What did you do?"

"I sorta sent in your song to Billie and I's record label and-"

"Finneas," I shouted, "wait," I furrowed my brows in thought, "did they like it?"

"They loved it, they said you have huge potential and they wanted your email but I said I'd have to talk to you first," he explained.

I looked to my side, Billie has a huge smirk displayed on her face as she watches me. "I-what should I do?" I ask her.

"I mean, it's up to you but I think you should go for it," she smiled.

"I was not expecting this, I thought we were just gonna work on a new song today...Can I think about it?"

"Of course, I'm going to go grab some water before we start," Finneas said before walking up the steps.

Billie immediately grabbed my waist, setting me in her lap unexpectedly and I giggled at the action. "I mean...I have to do it right?" I asked, fidgeting with the pearl necklace around her neck.

"You don't have to, but I do think it's a great opportunity," she said, placing a hand on my cheek. I looked up into her eyes, leaning into her comforting touch. I couldn't help but lean in, attaching our lips in a soft gentle kiss.

"Ahem," Finneas cleared his throat making me pull away from the kiss. "I mean, you two have been acting like a couple since I met you but is there something you'd like to tell me?"

I got off of Billie's lap, knowing she hasn't come out to her family yet. Billie stayed silent, a blush creeping on her cheeks. "Bil, you know I literally don't care who you date as long as they treat you well," Finneas said, setting his glass of water on the desk.

"I know," Billie said sheepishly, fidgeting with her fingers. "I'm just not ready to come out to everyone."

"You don't have to. You can come out to whoever you want whenever you're ready but like I've kinda known you weren't straight."

"I know," Billie chuckled humourlessly, "I'm not great at hiding it."

"It's okay Bil," Finneas said comfortingly, sitting beside her on the opposite side of the couch from me.

"I'm fine with you knowing and that's it for now," she finally lifted her head to look at him.

"Deal," he smiled, pulling her into a hug.

They continued to talk for a few minutes but I zoned out as I received a dm from someone I haven't talked to in just over a year.

You need to stay away from Billie. She doesn't believe me that you're a drug dealer, how badly have you already brainwashed her????

My mouth immediately fell open. How does she know Billie? Well, I guess everybody knows Billie but how does she know her personally? SHit, shit. SHIT!

"You okay?" Billie placed a hand on my thigh, making me close my phone and set it beside me.

"Yeah, I'm good," I plastered on a fake smile. I could tell Billie didn't believe me but luckily Finneas changes the subject back to music.

I am exhausted. I'm tired and frankly, I'm afraid that Drew is going to out me about how I'm making money. Dealing drugs isn't as bad as it sounds, at least not in my case. I don't associate with any gangs, I've never touched a weapon and my 'clients' are all innocent high schoolers or college students. I don't condone drugs... well I guess I do, but I don't agree with it... I never meant for this to happen okay? I just needed to provide for Hazelee and I, it was the only thing I could think of.

A knock on the door snaps me out of my thoughts and I grab my wallet before opening the door, paying for the food and thanking the delivery person. I had no energy after the long studio session so I just ordered in.

Setting the food out on the coffee table I pull up Netflix on my TV, scrolling until I find a show. Another knock on the door. I outwardly groan, I just got comfy. Once I hear a cry I immediately know who it is. Fuck.

I hurriedly open the door, grabbing my sweet Hazelee from James' arms. "What's going on?" I ask.

"Funny story," James falls into a fit of laughter.

"I bet it's not," I scoff, comforting the sniffling girl in my arms.

"No, no, it is! She was sleeping and someone had like dropped off shit earlier today and I took-"

"Someone as in Bronte?" I interrupt.

"Yeasssss," he drags out. This man is high as a kite.

"Go home James," I slam the door in his face. Carrying Hazelee to the couch, tears brimming in my eyes. The little bit of hair she has is matted, clearly hasn't been brushed or washed in days.

Her poor eyes look so tired and red from crying, luckily I can't spot any bruises or signs of physical abuse. "Shh, you're okay baby," I whisper, holding her tightly as she buries her head in my chest.

"Hazey, I missed you, my dear," I whisper out, holding back tears. She isn't allowed to see me cry, she's the one who is scared right now. After she's calmed down enough I ask if she wants to take a bath and she nods her head.

Once she's been properly taken care of I cuddle with her in her bed and within a few minutes, she's fast asleep. I never took her room down, I didn't have the heart and I was afraid that something like this would happen.

I walk out of her bedroom, closing the door softly before all tears stream at once. Without a second thought, I hit Billie's contact, calling her.

"Hey, babe!"

"B-Billie," I sniffled, holding back my sobs.

"What's wrong love?"

"J-James brought Hazelee a-and," I stop speaking, trying to swallow back the tears. I sound like an idiot right now.

"I'll be there in five minutes, okay?"

I'm so lucky to have Billie. She came over without me even asking her to. She held me in her arms, letting me cry, singing softly until I calmed down. I'm still in her arms as we are both scrolling on our phones as 'The Office' plays quietly in the background.

I know you saw that. You need to tell Billie before I do.

I quickly lock my phone, setting it on my nightstand before Billie sees it. I lay my head on her chest, wrapping an arm around her. She sets her phone down as well, gently stroking her fingers through my hair.

"Billie?" I whisper.

"Hmm?" She hums in response.

"Do you know someone named Drew?"

"Yeah, she's my best friend. Why?"

"No reason," I shrug.

"Did she say something to you?"

"I-Um.." I let out a shaky sigh, "I need to tell you something but honestly I'm not ready yet."

"It's okay love, whenever you're ready," she places a sweet kiss on my forehead.
