As she looked at Pierre's message again she decided it's best to turn her phone off. If she really wanted to do this she needed to be serious. No drivers means absolutely no driver contact. This is for the better. They'll soon realize...

Time skip: A little over a week later...

It had been a little more than a week since Y/n left for Belgium and she hadn't contacted anyone. She was already feeling better having been away from social media and gossip. She was still sad about Pierre but was feeling better about their situation. Time away had shown her what she really wants and she was going to return and make her wishes known in the next few days. As she sat she decided to post to show the drivers that cared that she's still alive.

She truly managed to ignore the last comment. This break gave her strength. She restricted the user and deleted their comment feeling better about herself now. She then stared at Pierre's comment. She didn't know what but something inside of her stung. His hope was still there... even after everything... even if baseless... it was still there.

She decided to look into the latest news on social media given her absence and was thrilled to see people acknowledging Charles' hard work the last race and Pierre's determination to perform well despite what was recognized as "his sudden shift in pace." She still watched them race this last Sunday even though she left them. Not to her surprise she recognized her name in one of the titles of the articles:

Curious as to what it had to say, she opened it.

Y/n Summers was the new WAG; that was no surprise to fans given her closeness and developing relationship with Alpha Tauri driver Pierre Gasly. The couple became public after his first win of the season when they shared a kiss before the podium celebrations. It was later brought to light that they were official a short while before. It has however gone downhill since then.

Numerous interviews, posts and tweets have suggested that Miss Summers has had bad intentions, only desiring fame and fortune, and used Mr Gasly and her lifelong friend turned brother, Charles Leclerc, to gain said desires. Although never confirmed and strongly denied by Summers and drivers alike, the questions remained after her appearance at the French Grand Prix.

Miss Summers was seen in the paddock and in the garage but made no appearance at the podium celebrations to support her boyfriend who claimed third place.

When asked about it, Mr Gasly denied any rumors suggesting she was only with him for the wins and made it quite clear that these questions were sensitive by boycotting media duties for the remainder of the French weekend follow-on press, until questions around her stopped. That explains the local hero's lack of appearance in Monday's PR duties in which he was to make a special appearance at the circuit for an exclusive national TV interview.

Y/n stopped reading. She couldn't believe it. He had really given up his home race media time to disregard questions around her, essentially protecting her. After she just left him... She couldn't fathom it and read on.

Now this leads to the main question: Where has she been since then?

Y/n Summers is reportedly taking time from the sport and her relationship in light of the hate she's been receiving. It is unknown as to where she is and seems to be information that won't be released. She is said to be gone indefinitely.

As many may be relieved by her disappearance the hearts of many more fans have been broken.

They were the couple everyone had waited for and what seemed a love undeniable has disappeared into the wind, along with Y/n [Summers].

It's only a matter of hope and time that we'll see the two of them back on track together. As many fans have made clear, their story was one for the movies and is leaving a lasting hope for their return.

Y/n processed what she just read. Fans had really been upset by this... there were still people that believed in them, so it wasn't just hate. She wasn't the enemy to everyone, instead majority actually liked her. Feeling sorry for everything that's happened she reached to her neck to fidget with the necklace Pierre returned to her. She knew she took it off to show the legitimacy of the breakup but this past week she had found comfort in it. She felt around but couldn't feel it.

She panicked, praying it hadn't gotten lost. She furrowed through her bag and searched the hotel room. Eventually she found it in between the couch cushions. She sighed in relief and put it around her neck.

How could such a simple thing be so important?

At this thought she realized that despite the fact that she already knew what she wanted she realized now what she needed instead, and it became clear to her what to do next.
