(So I had no power yesterday after a snowstorm hit. Strange this time of year, however... irritating and cold all the same. Regardless, lets start this consecutive updating since everything seems to be working right haha. Enjoy~)

---(Y/n)'s Pov---

Five hours into this supposed 'nap' and Sans was still unconscious. I felt uneasy from hunger, unable to fall asleep due to the dull throb that I felt in the pit of my stomach. With careful use of my precise movements, I was able to sneak my way out of his hold.

Sans might of been holding me down for awhile, but he eventually let up with his grip. He must of been at ease to have done so... usually, the sinister skeleton was tense and unwilling to give up on anything.

After finding a pillow on the floor, I made sure to perfect my escape by placing the soft object into his grip... normally I wouldn't care to do this, but I started to notice how he seemed to be suddenly agitated at my disappearance, only to reach out slightly in search of my warmth.

One could assume that this would be an opportunity to grab my prototype... but I knew better. Sans would be awake in an instant- and he already made sure to consider any extensive plan that I might have.

Patting down the fabric of my coat, I carefully made my way out of the room. Once I managed to successfully close to door, I was met with the sight of a stern looking Papyrus. He was dressed up in some kind of clothing suitable for the night? "Good evening, Papyrus. How are you?"

"HELLO, (Y/n). I AM FINE. DID YOU GET ENOUGH SLEEP?" He casually asked. Even though Papyrus was speaking in an uppercase tone, he was doing a good job at keeping his volume down for Sans.

"I did, thank you." Hmm... and now it is time to end this chat with a compliment. That way, he will be less likely to ask anything of me. "You really are an expert when it comes to fashion. I frequently find myself in awe at the sheer skill of your choice in clothing."

"AH... YES OF COURSE. I AM GREAT AT EVERYTHING AFTER ALL." He mused with a crooked grin while proudly putting his hand on his chest in a heroic pose. Would it be strange if I claimed that flattering him to receive this reaction in return made me feel... happy? "HMM... THOUGH I AM ABOUT TO GO TO BED... (Y/N), I DON'T WISH TO TROUBLE YOU BUT COULD YOU MAYBE READ ME A BEDTIME STORY?"

He seemed so hopeful... excited... and I couldn't help but let him down. "I am sorry Papyrus... I would love to, really. But... I cannot read English."

He stared at the floor with a somewhat blank expression, disappointed by what I just told him. As a result, I felt like I had no choice. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable, but I knew that I should do it... this was for maintaining my asset, right?

.....

No... I cannot claim that with conviction. Papyrus isn't seen as an asset, because I look at him more as... ugh... "Well... I can't read. However, perhaps you'd be interested in a story all the same?"

I could still tell him a story.

His face lit up at that, bringing back that eerie grin of his as he led me towards his room. It didn't take long for the taller skeleton to lay down into his bed while pointing towards a chair that I could use. The seat itself was comfortable... and I could tell that it was probably used by Sans a lot.

"Are you familiar with the tale of the skeleton warrior?" I suddenly asked. Papyrus shook his head eagerly like a child. He was very into this... and thankfully, Gaster shared a lot of his children stories during my younger years. "A very long time ago, back when Monsters roamed above ground... there lived a village of Skeletal Monsters at the base of Mount Ebott."

I closed my eyes briefly, attempting to recall every word that Gaster once told me. "The Humans were scared of the Skeleton Monsters because of their powerful understanding over the SOUL. They knew how to manipulate Soul magic on a whole new level, leading them to become one of the most dangerous of their kind."

Papyrus turned his head slightly, staring at me with some kind of confusion... almost like he knew this story, but couldn't quite place it. "One day, a beautiful Human female entered the village. She was hurt, and had just saved a Monster child from a trap in the forest. This child was a Skeleton... fortunately, the Human was spared by the Monsters who could be very suspicious. She was allowed to live among them until it was safe enough to bring her home."

"WHY WASN'T IT SAFE?" He asked.

"A group of Human mercenaries were sneaking around the mountain, looking for her. One day, a Skeleton warrior had an encounter with the group and was nearly slain by them. He wasn't too prepared... but before he could be turned to dust, the Human that his village had taken in appeared before him. Though there was a problem. Over the weeks of them being together, they formed a unique bond. A bond of love."

His eyes widened slightly. "AND WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?"

"It didn't take long for the Skeleton warrior to learn that the Human he loves happened to be a princess from a far away land. She was being hunted by these Humans, but the fact that she was willing to sacrifice herself for him brought upon something different in him. He was able to wield the power of Determination for a brief moment."

And that is what happened to the Skeleton Monsters... they were perceived as a threat. And a dangerous one at that. Because some were able to withstand the effects of determination. "With one strong use of magic, the warrior was able to force all of the Humans back to where they came from, scaring them off. It was the first use of determination for a Monster, and will forever bring hope to all of Monsterkind. As for him and his princess? The two came together and were bonded for the rest of their lives."

Of course this story had a darker ending... and a few different truths- but Papyrus is too innocent for that. Not that it would matter too much. Children stories were often short and simple. Looking down at him, I was glad to find him asleep. At least my story seemed to make him content.

Turning around, I noticed something.... Sans.

He was leaning in the doorway, scratching at the interior of his eye socket. Getting up from my chair, I slowly stalked towards him before managing to slip out of the room with him on my trail. Once the door to his brother's room was closed, Sans finally spoke. "You left."

"Papyrus wanted a story." I lied. He let out a huff of irritation before scratching at the crack of his skull. "I'll be back in about ten minutes, need to check on something for our date."

Oh right.. forgot about that.

Looking over the railing after he vanished, I saw Aliza on the couch... she was staring at me with a small look of suspicion. Despite my perceptive Soul, I couldn't really figure out her intent... she just seemed curious about something.

Walking down the stairs slowly, I soon came to stand in front of her. We both glanced at each other for a few moments until she finally managed to speak. "Why haven't you killed me yet...?"

"Why should I kill you?" I replied bluntly. She squirmed under my question, unsure of how to reply... until finally, her stare turned cold.

"Because you're a murderer. You killed my father"

And then there was pure silence between us. I was able to maintain my cool posture... but on the inside, I was not too sure of this situation. This girl knew of my identity... damnit. "And what makes you assume that?"

I did everything perfectly, no one should of known of my existence to tie me into that... sure the Government knew who I was due to what I stole, and they were able to figure out what I did. However, the public wasn't too aware since it was considered an internal affair.

"Because I was there, hiding... from you." she admitted. I guess that my perception failed to detect her presence due to the lack of her sinister intent... but still, I should of probably known. Maybe I was too caught up in my victory to notice?

"When you tried to come into the room, you had a knife." I claimed. She nodded hesitantly at my statement, unsure of how to continue this conversation. "And Papyrus caught you before you could take another step. He started to attack you with your own weapon."

I could remember the sound of stabbing from earlier... her body being pierced by something sharp. It was probably a mix of his magic and that blade. "Why didn't you claim my actions sooner?"

"Because I was too scared to notice who you were! It took me a bit... but after that bear trap in the woods, I could tell it was you. Your voice is calm, too calm. You weren't worried about my foot being trapped, anyone else would of been panicking! But you actually didn't even care!"

"You're right, I didn't care." I confirmed with a small nod. Looking around carefully, I noticed that Sans wasn't back just yet. So I leaned in assertively to stare at her with a look of intimidation. "Listen carefully, child. I killed him, just as you said. However, he killed my parents a long time ago. He got what was coming to him, and while I did make a vow to never kill anyone... that doesn't mean that I can't hang you upside-down by a rope for the rest of your pitiful life. If I don't kill you, you wont Reset. Understand?"

"You're threatening me?" She asked. I gave her a serious and cold stare, nodding in confirmation soon after.

"I am trying to fix something here in the Underground, it is a promise that I made to someone. In turn, the Monsters will not have to starve to death anymore. Additionally, this place is now my home so if you're going to try and destroy that for me, I will make your life a living hell."

A cough from beside the couch caught me off guard as I turned to face Sans. He wasn't there for long, but was there for my last words. He seemed to be staring at me with a lustful gaze, a faint glow of red could be seen on his cheekbones. "See something you like?"

I asked while moving away from a terrified Aliza. He chuckled darkly before extending a hand towards me. Walking towards him so I could take it, he sent a death glare in the child's direction. Sans seemed fairly content, yet aggressive towards her. "If she doesn't kill you, meatbait... I will."

His grim threat was enough to send a shiver down my spine. I wasn't expecting those cold words to escape from him, but they were pleasing to hear all the same. Sans was on my side... even though he didn't hear the part of me killing Aliza's father.

In a split second, Sans harshly pulled me into his chest. I could hear the hum of energy from his Soul as le looked down at me with a half lidded stare. "And as for you, (Y/n). Yes, when ya stand over someone with that terrifying expression... you look fucking hot."

Well... that was a bold statement. And I really didn't know how to respond to it... so I just stayed quiet. Aliza on the other hand was moving to the opposite end of the couch out of fear. She realized that I didn't need to kill her if someone else was willing to do it for me.

Especially since Sans was the one offering to do it.
