(And an extra part to give the readers a better feel for the story. I really am looking forward to writing this story lol, but it will be a slower burn for the romance department since the Reader isn't some pushover. Anyway, on with the chapter.)

---(Y/n)'s Pov---

"Well... that response is definitely a first." Flowey admitted before holding out his leaf in a form of greeting. "Howdy, I'm Flowey. Flowey the Flower."

"(Y/n)" I said while crouching down to shake his leaf. He seemed to take in my warmer appearance and bag over my shoulder, almost seeming surprised by it.

"You should consider me your only friend down here." He added as I pulled away from him. "Since down here... it's eat or BE EATEN."

He must of noticed the confusion that crossed my face, because he immediately started to explain the situation in the Underground. "See... monsters are not exactly the friendliest when they're starving. Here in the Underground, Humans are killed and eaten."

"That is... unexpected." I responded, unsure of how to approach the new information. "So would you say that everyone is unstable down here? Unable to control themselves due to their hunger?"

"Uh yeah... that just about sums it up. I mean, most of the monsters have gone crazy." He replied. Taking note of his words, I crossed my arms in an attempt to think about my next course of action. Of course, I would now have to be careful with my plans. Flowey must of assumed that I was nervous or panicking, because he seemed worried. "Hey, if you want... we can try to get out of here together! Just put me in your coat!"

"I have no desire to leave." My response caused the flower to stare at me with shock. The words that I spoke were unlike anything that he heard.

"Wha-"

"I need a guide. Will you assist me?" I said, cutting him off. This only served to confuse him more... "I have to look for a few things throughout the Underground. You seem rather reliable for this."

"Why would a human fall down here on a scavenger hunt?! Are you trying to die!?" Flowey was clearly annoyed by me. This would probably require a different approach.

"It could be exciting. Besides, I doubt that you'd rather spend your time here." Once I said this, he narrowed his eye with suspicion, but only decided to insult my skills once again. That wouldn't be going on for long though.

"Fine, let me tag along so that I can keep you alive. Without me, you'll be dead in an hour."

"Excellent. I am glad that we could come to an understanding." And with that said, I allowed him to climb into my coat with his vines. His head popped out from where my neck was, clearly enjoying the warmth that I was providing.

"Good thing you have that coat. It gets cold outside of these ruins." He said. I resisted the urge of agreeing with him since I already knew about the snowy forest... honestly, I was excited to see an underworld land of snow, but he didn't need to know that. He was merely an asset, a guide.

If I had to play this friendly role, then I would. My only ally was WD. Gaster who I couldn't exactly call a friend since that wasn't an appropriate word to describe our relationship. No... what existed between us had more to do with business.

Flowey and I came to a room of spikes, I didn't bother listening to his explanation and instead followed the correct path as if I walked it hundreds of times. He raised an eyebrow to me, but decided to consider my attempt as luck. "Huh... nice guess."

Yeah, guessing. Because I obviously didn't know every puzzle in the ruins. One thing that I was thankful for... Flowey was reading some of the signs. Since they weren't in hands, I was unable to understand what they said.

The more we moved through the vast amount of puzzles, the more suspicious the flower became. He finally had enough once we reached Toriel's home. As the goat lady left with a crazed look in her eye, I kept to the shadows without the flower having to say anything. I knew when something was wrong, I could easily perceive a threat just by sensing it's intent. Unless someone was good at hiding their emotions, they wouldn't be able to escape my judgement.

Taking a pin out of my (H/c) hair, I used the small object to unlock the door that led into the deranged goat's house. Flowey stayed quiet out of curiosity, interested in what I would do next. Once I heard a click, I pushed the entrance to the home open and went for the stairs. Without any problems, the first obstacle was evaded. "Hey. (Y/n)."

Since this was the first time that he decided to use my name, I offered a hum of acknowledgment. "You seem to know your way around."

"No. I simply have an excellent sense of direction." I said while taking the time to readjust my bag.

"Yeah, yeah. We'll chat about this later since we're coming up on a dangerous part." He whispered to me, causing my feet to come to stop at a good distance from the door. From the other side of the exit, I could sense the bone crushing atmosphere. Someone- no. Something was out there, waiting.

Flowey wasn't blind to it either, because he was intently staring at the door. Since we never moved in the slightest, the strange presence decided to leave. I still waited for about ten minutes before making my way towards the door. "Huh. So you could feel that too?"

"Whatever you do from here on out, do not speak unless I tell you to." Once I said that, he decided to go quiet. I guess after my amazing performance in the ruins, Flowey was willing to put some faith in my skills. What ever managed to make me feel uneasy just then, I felt capable of confronting it with my own murderous experience. I'd rather not have someone like Flowey interfering during such a thing. One wrong move could mean death.

Pushing the doors open, my face was greeted by cold snow. The landscape would of been unbearable without this coat, so I was quietly thanking Gaster for the reminder. "Good thing you brought that coat, eh human?"

I sent a sharp glare in his direction, causing him to back up in fear. He acted as if that sinister cold glare I gave him was impossible to preform for a human that was here, in the Underground. But, this place didn't have a powerful effect on me. Sure the idea that Monsters were eating Humans threw me off guard... however, it's not like I never picked apart a human body for torture purposes.

Diving into the pockets of my coat, I let out a sigh of relief upon realizing that I brought my gloves. Slipping on the warm black leather material, I moved forward. Surely If I managed to evade Toriel, I wouldn't have a problem with my... newest stalker.

Sharply turning my head to glance in the direction of the newest threat, I found nothing. It was as if they were there for a split second before suddenly vanishing into the thick foliage.

Continuing further, I slowly walked around a branch in the middle of the path, only to hear it snap behind me. If this monster wanted to play a game with me... I would give him a loss that he'll never forget.

Opening my bag before reaching the bridge, I had a sneaking suspicion that this guy was going to play a bad prank on me. Gaster spoke faintly about the one who would meet me here, but he left out many details so that it would be a surprise. Thing is, I don't think that it will be a pleasant one.

From the depths of my bag, I pulled out a small piece of stone and kept it close on hand. Flowey wrapped his vines tightly to me, but I gave him a look of reassurance as I turned around. Huh... nothing was there. Now normally, I had this rock for taking our security cameras like the one at the ruin's entrance... but now it would serve a different purpose.

There was something behind me. Turning again, I don't think that I gave the opposing character his desired reaction. Either way, the skeleton that stood there maintained an eerie grin as silence filled the area. He wore a faded blue hoodie and a white shirt, both pieces of clothing were stained with blood. In this cold weather, he was wearing shorts... and shoes that were untied. I could only suspect his lack of clothing as some form of mental damage since well... he had a hole in is skull. Or maybe it was due to his lack of skin, he just wasn't cold.

It took a few moments, but he finally reached out his hand in a form of greeting, appearing friendly. "Heya, pal. It's rude to leave a new friend hanging. Shake my hand so I can get to the... formalities."

I watched him carefully, realizing that he was hiding a very psychotic personality behind that calm and comical exterior. Normally I would be able to see his desired intentions with ease, but instead... he evaded me.

Reaching out my hand to shake his, he grabbed it and tightened his grip with an evil smirk. A faint buzzing sound could be heard, but it was followed by an uneven screech from whatever he had in his hand, then the noise of something breaking. Ha. The look on his face was priceless. "Aha... I am sorry. I forgot to put away this rock that I found."

"Uh... yeah." He seemed taken by surprise, but as soon as his face showed such an emotion, it was gone and he was back to his usual creepy grin. "You're a human, right? That's hilarious. I'm Sans, Sans the skeleton."

I guess that he just wasn't in the mood to give his name before trying to cause severe damage to my gloved hand. "You're named after a font."

I allowed that word to slip from my thoughts. Nothing seemed to come from my observation, but even so... I wish that I hadn't said it. I needed to play clueless. "You almost scared me out of my skeleton, pal."

"Heh. So listen, I'm supposed to be on watch for humans right now... buuuut. I don't have the appetite." he paused for dramatic effect, causing me to shiver slightly while Flowey gave him a 'really' look. "Now my brother Papyrus?"

"SANS! SANS, WHERE ARE YOU?!" Towards the shouting, we both snapped our heads in the direction of the voice as if to be on full alert. "BROTHER, I AM IN DIRE NEED OF YOUR ASSISTANCE! SANS!"

"Well. That would be him. We better hide you." Sans said, grabbing me with his powerful grip before dragging me across the bridge. I took note of this bridge carefully since Gaster claimed that there was a small concave indent in the cliff just under it. That might come in handy...

Once we reached a clearing that had a small sentry station in it, Sans was quick to wrap his arm around my shoulders while pointing towards a body that was hanging upside down. "Quick, behind that conveniently shaped corpse."

I didn't argue, in fact, I didn't care in the slightest. It smelt awful, but it wasn't like I hadn't smelt rotting flesh before... I've had my own fair share of disposing of bodies back on the surface. The skeleton seemed to be pretty surprised by my obedience, but went along with it regardless.

Soon a taller more deranged looking skeleton marched in, complaining to his brother about his puzzles that haven't been recalibrated in years? Well, I hope that they were enjoying their conversation. "There's a human behind that corpse."

"WHAT?!" In an instant, Papyrus marched over with excitement and peered to the opposite side of the hanging body... but he only frowned before saying something that made his brother freeze up. "ARE YOU SURE? THERE IS NO HUMAN HERE."

Ha. Better luck next time, 'friend.'
