Baz Grimm-Pitch had absolutely no idea what was going on. The Coven had summoned all of its members, explaining briefly that there was going to be a court trial. But why did this trial even matter? Baz had nothing to do with any of this. He shouldn't be here. He should be back at Watford with his boyfriend, Simon Snow. But no. Instead, Aunt Fiona dragged him here to deal with this court hearing that he knew nothing about. No one knew what it was about.

Baz took a seat next to Fiona, who had been recently converted while on a mission. Even though Baz had been a vampire longer, Fiona was kept more in the loop of knowledge than he was. Still, it was rather strange sitting with all the other vampires of this Coven, yet not a single one of them knowing why.

When the judge walked out, the room immediately silenced. Curiosity gnawed at each one of them, wanting more information. The judge used his wand, casting a charm that allowed it to be used like a microphone.

"Good evening. I'm sure you all have rather important places to be, but this trial is a rather particular one. With me, I have a human. But this human was caught with anti-vampire possessions while also holding both an intimate and sexual relationship with a vampire," The judge explained as Baz and Fiona shared a confused look. Why did this matter?

"We believe that this might be a new uprising. Humans drawing in vampires with the intention of making them fall in love, then killing them," The judge added as whispers spread throughout the crowd. Suddenly, understanding and dread began filling Baz.

"And here is the human. The question is, what do we do with him?" The judge announced. As soon as the boy was pushed out into the room, Baz inhaled a sharp breath. Fuck.

The once beautiful blonde curls were now matted and had blood caked into them. Meanwhile the blue eyes were fighting to remain open, somehow managing not to seal shut from the swelling of the large gash on his cheek. The boy also had no shirt on, exposing pale skin against ribs; blood and bruises coated the once flawless skin. Large red wings spread out from his back, tied together with ropes, rendering them useless; meanwhile cuts and slices had been made against the leathery flesh.

But this wasn't just a boy. It was Baz's boy. It was Baz's chosen one. It was the one and only Simon Snow.

"Fuck..." Baz whispered, Fiona immediately understanding who this boy was. She looked over at Baz with wide eyes, blinking at him for a moment before assessing what he thought of it.

"My brothers and sisters, what shall we do with him?" The judge questioned as jeers and shouts erupted instantaneously. Baz was yet to look away from Simon, almost as if he was physically unable to.

"Let us change him!"

"Allow us to drink, brother!"

"Rip his limbs off!"

Simon was blinking rather slowly, his blue eyes scanning the crowd in a slow and cautious manner. When he located Baz, they locked into unbreakable eye contact. Simon's eyes pleaded for help while Baz's expressed reassurance. Simon proceeded to close his eyes and barely nod, but Baz caught it; Simon had faith in him.

"Before we decide that, which one of our sisters has been seeing this human?" The judge question. The blatant assumption almost made Baz laugh; somehow, Simon lacked that restraint.

"What's so funny?" The judge demanded, looking at Simon with a disgusted expression. Simon smirked, turning his attention towards the judge.

"Nothing. I just... You're really an assumptious asshole, aren't you?" Simon asked as there was a loud snapping sound, a new laceration forming on Simon's ribs, blood trailing down his skin. Baz had to find every single ounce of restraint to keep himself seated.

"Not another word from you until you're claimed," The judge spat as Simon arched an eyebrow; Baz could already tell that Simon wasn't going to listen.

"'Claimed'? That's a strange way to put it. Do I really look like a piece of property to you?" Simon demanded as the judge sighed, another snap echoing throughout the room and more blood dripping from his wings. Baz was going to strangle Simon if he didn't shut up.

"Any of our sisters claim him?" The judge demanded once more as someone rose to their feet.

"He's mine," A strong female voice boomed, shaking Baz to the core. His heart raced when he noticed who had spoken.

"Fiona Pitch. He's a bit young for you, no?" The judge questioned as Simon sharply looked up after hearing her last name. His eyes were wide as he stared at Baz's aunt, meanwhile Baz was overcome with gratefulness.

"Is that any of your damn business?" Fiona demanded as the judge stammered, clearly not expecting her to be difficult. Instead, he just shook it off.

"Miss Pitch, what do you believe should be done to this boy?" The judge demanded as Fiona blinked, assessing Simon and seeming to be thinking of her nephew and his feelings towards the bleeding boy.

"He shall be released. And I will discontinue our relationship," She explained as Baz looked down and smiled, really hoping that Fiona's crazy plan would actually work.

"Ah, quite the peaceful individual. And you think nothing of his anti-vampire item?" The judge questioned, gesturing over towards a silver crucifix necklace that was hung on the wall behind Simon. Yeah, Baz was going to punch Simon once he knew he was okay.

"No. That is a religion piece. It's nothing terrible intended for our kind," Fiona explained, making some of that up. It had been meant to keep Baz away, but it was thrown away as soon as the two formed a relationship. Maybe Simon never got rid of it? Perhaps he had a connection with it? Maybe it did involve his religion? Baz was a bit puzzled about this.

"Okay. Then so be it. Just keep your pet human at a distance next time," The judge expressed as Simon shot him a nasty look.

"Snow..." Baz growled under his breath, but he knew that the boy couldn't hear him. He'd smack Simon Snow if he could.

"Pet human? Is that what I'm considered? Wow, fuck you," Simon spoke as Baz's jaw fell. He wanted to kill Simon Snow himself, at the moment. Honestly, he could see himself sprinting up and tackling the boy, causing him more harm. It was almost a calming thought.

"He has quite the mouth, doesn't he. Just ignore him. I'll have my nephew take the boy out of here and you'll never have to deal with him again," Fiona promised as the judge nodded.

"That would be great. Meeting adjourned," The judge announced. Baz was the first person to jump to his feet, making his way up to Simon and cutting off all the rope and other bindings.

They didn't waste any time. The couple was the first out, heading back towards Watford. Baz kept one of his arms around Simon, meanwhile the blonde heavily leaned against him. Simon Snow was in no condition for the hike back to the school; not in this condition. Once they were far enough away from the Coven, Baz halted and began assessing all of Simon's wounds.

"Merlin, Snow. You're losing a lot of blood," Baz muttered, caressing one of the blonde boy's cheeks gently, noticing a bruise beneath his eye and blood rolling off the other cheek.

"Yeah..." Simon replied in agreement. It wasn't awful, but it was pretty bad.

Baz grabbed his wand, muttering a chant and tapping the end over Simon's heart. A jolt ran through the blonde boy's body, meanwhile Baz watched as the injuries began mending themselves. Cells rapidly growing, blood clotting, and scar tissue forming. Simon was going to be alright.

"How did they even catch you?" Baz asked as Simon sighed, looking down towards his feet. Anxiously, Simon grabbed onto Baz's hand.

"Well, I was at Watford with Penny. And we heard someone in the tree line and I went to look and... And then I woke up down in that cave," Simon explained as Baz nodded slowly, squeezing onto the other boy's hand.

"Okay. How about you don't check creepy stuff out on your own anymore," Baz replied as Simon let out a weak laugh and nodded.

"That's probably a safe call," Simon agreed as the pair began continuing their expedition to Watford.

They held hands the entire time, laughing and joking about stuff in order to keep the mood light. In truth, both boys were horrified. Baz was just imagining what the vampires would've done to Simon if Fiona hadn't spoken up, meanwhile Simon was thinking about what would've occurred if Baz had confessed. We're vampires homophobic? Simon wasn't sure he wanted to know.

"Your aunt is a queen, by the way. Remind me to get her a Christmas present this year," Simon spoke as Baz grinned.

"Yeah. She's pretty great," Baz admitted, grinning while thinking about the thing his aunt had done for him. He'd have to remember to thank her. She really connected so many dots rather quickly and was absolutely correct.

"No kidding. Merlin, I want to give her a hug," Simon beamed as Baz grinned, pausing and wrapping the blonde boy up in a tight embrace. Simon gripped onto his boyfriend tightly.

"Your aunt! Not you!" Simon joked Baz rolled his eyes.

"Shut up, Snow. For once in your life, just shut up," Baz requested as the blonde boy grinned.

Simon Snow shut up.

The thing with Simon Snow and Baz Grimm-Pitch was that the bond they shared through love was so strong. They loved with every single piece of their hearts, souls, and minds. They were physically incapable of loving one another any less. Their hearts were filled to the brim with passion and sincerity.

Simon cupped Baz's cheek, bringing his lips to meet the other boys'. Baz was more than glad to comply. Each and every kiss the two shared managed to be better than the last; it kept the two of them wanting more and unable to stop themselves.

"You scared the hell out of me, Snow..." Baz breathed against Simon's lips, the latter boy grinning like a fool.

"I tend to do that a lot," Simon retorted as Baz rolled his eyes, pressing his lips back against Simon's.

Simon and Baz were both destined for greatness, no one could deny that. Each one of them had prophecies about their destiny and how fate would choose whether or not they were successful. They were allowed to choose lovers; they chose one another. Alone, each one had the capability to turn the tides of any war. But together? Well, together they could conquer the world.
