"Can I talk with you?" Kaira asked, taking me by surprise. It was almost time to go home. I stood outside when she suddenly asked me this question. I didn't want to talk with her but anyway agreed, following her towards the parking area.

She stood away from people and crossed her arm, reading straight into my eye, "You should stop it."

"What?"

"Pretending to be happy, trashing Jack's life!"

I rolled my eyes. "Kaira, please! You are being dramatic."

"Wow! You should try to become an actor," she said, scoffing right at my face.

I sighed, "Fine, I will think about it."

I walked away, leaving Kaira confused, with her mouth hanging open.

"Stop!" Kiara almost yelled, taking long strides to stand near me. "I am serious. I saw what you did today. Laughing and giggling while looking at the phone, texting someone. Not that matters to me, but Jack, it devastated him."

"He was? Maybe he should try listening to what I have to say rather than feeling upset over absurd things. He made it clear- 'there is no US' which means it's over."

"It is over."

"Good. Now that's clear to you and me, I am off."

"If it's over, why are you trying to make him jealous? I knew you are old school, but I didn't know you would go so cliché."

I laughed, "Trying to make Jack jealous, why would I do that?"

"It is not a rocket science! You need him."

"I don't---"

"Most of the kids teased you for not having a boyfriend, remember? You sucked in relationships. You took Daniel in and later dumped him."

I was speechless. Daniel was my boyfriend before Jack. He was such a sweet guy. We just felt infatuation, but still dated for a short period. Later, he moved to Thailand.

"What? Things didn't work out between us. Besides, he moved out to Thailand. I didn't dump him! We ended it mutually."

"Whatever! You knew your next target is going to be Jack. You use them and later throw them away!'

"Kaira, I like you but you sound annoying."

She later sighed, taking a deep breath. "Jack is my good friend. I will hunt you down if you break his heart again. Just let him be. We don't need you like you need us. Get that into your thick head."

She walked away, swaying her hips while I stood rigid, my mind repeating the part she said.
