//Mom calling//

We had an emergency at the hospital. Prepare your breakfast or get it from the cafeteria.

Are you sick or just an excuse for not cooking your breakfast?

Ok, hon. Take care.

Yes?

Jo?

He is doing surgery right now. I will let him know.

You too hon! We will come soon after our shift.

I know.

//ends call//

The very next day, I was scared and anxious to go back to school. Is the entire school against me? I think they are. I never actually told anything to my parents. They arrived late last midnight and asked me what's wrong. I just said to them it was nothing. My mom gave me a suspicious glance, but otherwise, she told nothing.

I saw the school profile on Facebook. People have indeed made posters with my name on it. I realized they will continue doing this until they get a hold of another victim. Till then, I need to have patience.

Wow, I just sound ridiculous. Why does anyone need to go through such a type of bullying?

Maybe I shouldn't have involved myself with the popular ones. I made a huge mistake. How fast did they change? I was expecting Jack would advise them not to call me slut in the group message. But no, he didn't! I couldn't stand another second there, so I left.

I know I wasn't a perfect girlfriend to him, but I didn't know I deserved this. There is no way I can now change what's broken. How can I make him understand I didn't cheat on him?

I ignored all of their frowns and sat in the front seat today. The classes started. It was okay until I got a text message.

//Unknown number//

Hey dipshit!

So like you will not reply?

Or you simply respond to popular guys?

Um... I ain't a guy tho

Too bad

I would never know what it is like to gossip with a B!

"Why do you need to have that ridiculous ringtone?" shrieked the Math teacher, surveying his eyes across the room, searching for the source of the sound. I didn't care that my phone was not on silent since I was very busy reading my texts. Now it's going too far. I am getting a random text from random people? How do they know my number?

"I don't want to hear that stupid sound again." He warned, turning his back, and scribbled on the board.

I swiftly turned my head, checking if that culprit was in my class. Accidentally, my eyes dropped on Jack, who was already staring at me. I shouldn't have done that. He instantly stood up from his desk, stepping out of the class.

"Hey, Mr. Popular!" Math teacher called him, but he was already gone.

Thirty minutes of class eventually ended, and I was the first to disappear from the class.

I watched Jack, sitting in his regular spot of the cafeteria, drinking coke.

"Before you leave seeing me here, I just have to tell you something."

"I know what you have to say," he said. His eyes so not ready to meet mine.

"I was getting messages from random people on Facebook and now I am getting it on WhatsApp. It's going too far! Are you throwing away my number to the entire city?"

Jack laughed, too harshly, finally turning his back to face me. He rose from his chair, towering over me. "You are not my life, Josephine. Get over it. I wouldn't stoop down so low. Whatever is going on, it is taking place because of your own making. You. Deserve. it."

People quickly surrounded me who formerly I used to call friends.

"Is there is a problem, buddy?" Samuel asked, giving me a sinister expression.

"No. Josephine was just about to leave," Jack replied, not facing me anymore.

The way they were smirking and scowling at me, I understood it must be Jack's friends. The gossips, posters and everything must be them. I sighed, feeling drained of all this. I walked away holding a heavy heart, but indeed when we choose to give up drama, the drama doesn't. The text message I received stunned me.

//Unknown number//

So you were cheating on your boyfriend with me, huh?
