When we arrive back at the hotel, we meet up with Jake's family. Maddy immediately runs towards Jake, wrapping her arms around his neck in a hug.

Mrs. Fletcher walks towards where I'm standing beside my mum. "Thanks so much for taking Jake along with you today." She says to my mum.

"Oh, it was no trouble. It was better actually, allowed us adults to go somewhere else and leave these two to do their own thing."

"Well, we were thinking of going to an aquarium tomorrow, and we were wondering if Amber would like to join us?"

My mum looks to me in question and I turn to face Jake's mum. "I would love too, Mrs. Fletcher."

"Wonderful!" She leans in closer to me, "Don't tell Jake though, we'll keep it as a little surprise." She pulls back, smiling, and winks at me before walking back to her family.

I spend the rest of the night with my family and we're back in the apartment playing cards when there's a knock on the door.

My dad stands to answer it and I try to listen in as I continue to focus on the cards.

My dad pokes his head around the corner. "Amber, it's Jake."

I place my cards face down on the table and point at my nana. "No peeking." She holds up her hands innocently and I narrow my eyes at her as I walk towards the door.

Jake's stood in the doorway in the same clothes from today and I suddenly feel underdressed in my vest and pyjama shorts.

I step through and close the door behind me. "What's up?" I ask.

He sighs and runs his hand through his hair. "I won't be at the pool tomorrow."

I'm about to tell him I know, but catch myself at the last minute. "How come?"

"My family's decided to take us to an aquarium. I tried to get out of it but my mum was having none of it."

"Why would you try and get out of it?"

His hand reaches forwards to find mine, "I wanted to spend the day with you."

His thumb rubs circles on the back of my hand as I shrug. "Don't worry about it. Have fun with your family. You can't spend every second of your holiday with me."

He sighs, "I know, but I want to."

I smirk, "We don't always get what we want."

He laughs slightly. "I don't know, so far I've done a pretty good job."

I smack him lightly on the chest. "Anyway, maybe I'll see you tomorrow night?"

He nods. "Yeah, definitely."

"Night, then."

He leans forwards slightly. "Night, babe."

I pull back, cringing. "No. No 'babe'. I literally just threw up in my mouth. I almost just keeled over from the cringe."

"Really? No babe? Sweet? Honey? My love? Sweet cheeks? Baby cakes?"

"No, God no. Stop." I shake my head. "They were all awful never say any of them again." I laugh.

"Noted. See you tomorrow." He leans in again but I pull away.

"Nope. You lost all goodnight kiss privileges as soon as the word babe left your mouth."

"Aw, come on, you can't leave me hanging like that."

I turn my back on him, ready to walk back into my room. "Watch me."

I reach for the handle but Jake catches my hand, spinning me around. He kisses me, long and slow, before pulling away, smiling.

He begins to walk away backwards, still facing me. "Remember what I said Bloom, I'm good at getting what I want." He winks before turning to leave.

I stay where I am, smiling, as I watch him walk away.
