It takes us another 15 minutes to get out of the mirror maze, with Jake constantly taking us the wrong way.
We make it back into the reception of the house and I breathe a sigh of relief as the warm air surrounds me once again.
"Ah! There you are, did you have fun?" My mum asks, standing from one of the benches as soon as she sees us.
"It was great." I say, smiling, my mind wandering back to Jake's lips on mine and the feel of my hands in his hair. I really hope my mum can't tell what I'm thinking, but there's something about the look in her eyes that tells me she knows something happened.
"Well, you guys can play some mini golf if you want?" She offers.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, why not. We have plenty of time left." She hands me some money before joining back up with my dad, nana and grandad. "Just phone us if you need anything, we're going to look around some shops."
I nod and turn to Jake. "Ready for some golf?"
"Always."
We walk over to the Expedition Golf and get our clubs. I look around the golf course; it has a waterfall in the middle with a black and white striped jeep teetering on the edge. There are small wooden bridges between some of the different holes and children lean over the side of a few, pointing at huge goldfish in the ponds as they swim past.
"Are you any good at golf?" Jake asks me as we make our way to the first hole.
"Erm...I'd rather not answer that." I reply, laughing.
He sighs, "I'm not letting you win, Bloom."
"I didn't expect you too. You're no gentleman are you?"

"I can be when I want to be."
I shake my head and place my yellow ball on the black spot of artificial grass.
I line up my shot and swing, missing the ball completely. Jake bursts out in laughter and I find myself giggling too, but smack him all the same. "Stop laughing at me."
"You- You just mi-missed it completely." He says, struggling through his laughter.
"Shut up." I bring my club up to my shoulder, threatening to hit him with it.
He holds his hands up, "Ok, ok, I'll stop." He says, smile still spread across his face. "Let me help."
He comes up behind me and brings his arms around me, hands covering mine on the golf club. "Wow. Cheesiest move in the game."
"Hey, I wouldn't be surprised if you missed on purpose so I'd do this."
"I did not!"
"Yeah, whatever, Bloom. You've been waiting for this all day."
I step on his foot and he yelps stepping away from me. "Gah. I've been more injured since I met you than I think I have in my whole life."
I laugh as he comes to stand behind me again and clears his throat. "Right, so for mini golf, you don't need a powerful swing. So first, look at the hole."
I turn my head to look at the hole. "Now think about how much power you'll have to put on it, look back down, and hit it."
He uses his hands over mine to move the club and hits the ball. It rolls towards the hole and stops about 2 inches away. "Wow." I say.
He shrugs, "I've played a lot of mini golf."
He takes his shot, the ball rolling straight into the hole.

I throw my arms up, "Why couldn't you do that for my shot?!"
"I told you I wouldn't let you win." He winks at me as he walks past me, collecting his ball.
"Douchebag." He laughs as he walks over to the next hole, me trailing behind him.
It's hole 16 when I finally get a hole in one. I cheer, putting my arms in the air and Jake runs towards me, picking me up and spinning me around.
He places me back on the floor and gives me a peck on the nose. "About time." He says.
"It's not my fault I had an awful teacher."
"I got you there in the end, didn't I?"
We complete the rest of the course and unsurprisingly, Jake is the winner.
Not that he'll let me forget it.
"Hey, Bloom. Who won mini golf again?" He asks me for the 4th time.
"I don't know Jake. Who did win mini golf?" I say with a tight smile.
"I did."
I call my mum to tell her we're ready and a couple of minutes later, the car pulls up on the curb in front of us.
We climb in and my grandad turns to us. "How was golf?"
"All it did was make Jake's head bigger." I say.
My grandad turns to Jake, "I'm guessing you won then, son?"
"I did. But Amber was...great?"
I punch him on the arm. "The question wasn't necessary. I was great, Grandad."
"No offence love, but I think I'll trust Jake on this one."
I sit with my mouth open. "I got a hole in one!"
"Compared to how many of Jake's?"
Jake clears his throat, "8." He coughs into his fist.
"Don't worry Amber, I stand with you. Men are just arrogant shitheads." Says my nana.
"Mum! Language!" My mum says from the front seat.
Jake and me begin laughing from the back seats.
"It's not like they've never heard it before, Sarah." My nana defends.
My mum just shakes her head, the ghost of a smile on her face.
About 15 minutes later Jake turns to me. "I've got one."
"Got one what?"
"An I spy. One even you won't get."
I angle myself more towards him, "Try me."
"G then C."
I think for a moment, looking around me. "Glove compartment."
The smile slips from his face. "Oh come on." He puts his hands in the air and then lets them fall down to his side. "That's ridiculous."
I shrug. "I may be no good at mini golf, but you haven't got anything on my I spy skills."
He looks at me, head still drooped, one corner of his mouth lifted in a smile. "I love how you think that's a skill."
"What else would you call it?"
"I don't know, it just suggests you have an unhealthy obsession with I spy to me."
Even he knows what's coming, already bracing himself.
I hit him.
