"So, my father was an Alpha? I don't understand; what made him so different to other wolves?" Ana quizzed, flipping through the various files with her forehead creased.
Snorting, Katherine replied "Don't ask me. Clearly he was important though because, somehow, these records show that his blood was able to maintain both his vampire and werewolf traits, essentially making him the first hybrid. Ha, I'd laugh if you and Klaus were related."
"Yeah, we are definitely not related - he has no relatives past the early ages for me to be related to!" Ana exclaimed, wrinkling her nose at the thought. "Anyway, I plan on taking these records with me to do more research. Mystic Falls isn't as boring anymore, now I finally have something to do."
"Yeah. I suppose we should be going. I mean, I'm itching to keep up on what the Scooby Gang are up to now." Katherine explained, helping her younger sister gather the records and picking up the lit torch from its stand on the wall.
Tilting her head at her sister, Ana added "Why are you keeping up with what they're doing? I always just assume that they're up to some pointless rubbish that will eventually piss Niklaus off, hence why I spend my time away from the teenagers of Mystic Falls."
"You're not wrong." Katherine responded, walking ahead of Ana as they left the basement of Mystic Falls records. "However, I want to get my hands on any information that will, hopefully, save me when Klaus arrives. Who cares if those reckless teens are killed, as long as my neck isn't on the chopping block."
"And you haven't changed after all." Ana said, sighing to herself as she clutched the records to her chest, protecting them like they were her last ounce of humanity. Things were about to get a whole lot more interesting.

[The Boarding House, April 8th, 2010]
Sorting through books, Damon's head snapped up when he noticed both Petrova siblings sauntering into the boarding house, Ana with a hefty book in her hands. "And where have you two been?"
"Not that it's any of your business, but we were scouring the records for anything to help..." Katherine snapped back, her lips parting slightly at the sight of Damon. "How about you?"
"None of your business." Damon responded, gesturing for Ana to come closer so he could give her a peck on the cheek.
Seeing Damon's expression after Ana pulled away from him, Katherine added "You're pouting now?" The eldest of the Petrova siblings shifted her attention to the journals that Ana had picked up and was beginning to flick through. "Are those the Gilbert journals?"
Taking Damon's evident silence as a sign of discouragement, Katherine frowned deeply. "How am I supposed to help you if you won't tell me what you're up to?"
"Uh, I think you're missing the point here." Ana chuckled, leaning herself over the desk. "Unless you somehow know where a bunch of witches were massacred in this town a couple centuries ago, you aren't going to be much help."
"No." Katherine deadpanned, shaking her head at her sister.
Still not taking his eyes away from the books on his desk, Damon added "Then Ana's right; you can't help."
Sighing, Katherine went to reach for a journal, but huffed when Damon immediately wacked her hand away. They ended up having a little hitting spat, until Damon grabbed Katherine and shoved her against the nearest wall, Ana quickly speeding beside them.
"Jeez, careful Damon. Katerina could be our ticket out of this hellhole, depending on how desperate Niklaus is." Ana rolled her eyes at Damon's hasty nature, though not bothering to make any attempt at yanking him off Katherine.

Glaring at her sister for a second, Katherine managed to choke out "If it's any consolation, I'm glad that you're not dead, Damon."
At this, Katherine had obviously hit a nerve because Damon jerked away, just making Ana scoff. "And you're losing your touch, Damon. You don't need to interrogate my sister, y'know? I'm sure you have better means of finding information than... this. I mean, really?"
"Just face it, Ana, I know everything. I don't have centuries of gossiping for nothing." Katherine winked at her younger sister before promptly turning to Damon with a teasing smile. "Emily Bennett told me about the massacre. It was a big deal in witch folklore. When a witch dies violently, they release a mystical energy marking the place of their death with power."
"Elijah wants the location, not some witch lesson, Katerina." Ana lectured, quirking a brow at her sister's information on witch history. Wow, Katherine must've been busy, seeing as she was completely oblivious to all supernatural in 1492.
Katherine gave her younger sister a brief glare. "I'm not deaf, y'know? But what I want to know is what he was going to do when he found the location?"
Flashing his eyes in obvious irritation, Damon frowned "I don't know." The male vampire paused for a moment, his body stilling as he said "What did Papa witch and baby witch have to say?"
Ana whipped her head around to see Stefan stood behind the three of them, his arms crossed as usual. Letting his eyes float over to where Katherine was leaned, Stefan blatantly ignored Damon's question and raised an unamused eyebrow. "Wasn't she, uh, gone or dead? Yeah?"
"For the last time, I'm here to help." Katherine snapped, her eyebrows drawn up in defense. "Can we skip the secrets, hmm?"
"Then can we skip the attitude, please." Ana replied, smirking at her sister in obvious smug. One to Ana, naught to Katherine.
Rolling his eyes at the remarks exchanged between the Petrova siblings, Stefan stepped forward, coughing loudly. "Elijah had no weapon to kill Klaus. But he believed that if a witch could channel enough power... they wouldn't need one."
"Like the power you get from a spot marked with a hundred dead witches?" Damon concluded, frowning at the idea of who would be performing that spell.
Nodding along, Stefan added "We just need to find it."
"Ooo, a treasure hunt. Fun." Ana grinned sarcastically, draping her arm over Damon's shoulder.
