"Alright, so let me just check I heard you right... you want to help Rose wash?" Ana asked, not looking impressed as they walked into the room.
Elena nodded, responding "It might make her feel better."
"She is seriously ill, Elena. I doubt Rose cares about hygiene right now, and anyway, it might sting her-" Ana cut off, noticing the empty bed, and her breath caught in her throat.
Turning around slowly, Ana whispered to Elena "Rose isn't here. Now, I need you to make a run for the door and find Damon. I'll handle Rose. Go."
Before Elena could object, Ana sped off in the house, searching for the hallucinating vampire. On second thought, it probably wasn't good to leave herself alone with Rose, considering 15th century Rose absolutely hated Ana... Ana shook her head, continuing her search.
"Rose? Rose!" Ana called throughout the house, pausing when she heard slight movement behind her while in the living room.
Someone stabbed Ana with a vervain syringe, and Rose's familiar voice rang out as she said "We're going to have some fun, Ana."
"Damn. Not... again." Ana groaned, her legs giving way as she collapsed into Rose's arms.

Groggily shifting on the concrete floor, Ana gasped at the cold sensation spreading across her skin. Pushing herself up from the ground, the vampire instantly recognised the room she was inside as some sort of cellar, and it looked as though the room was bolted.
"Hello?!" Ana exclaimed, jumping from the floor and pushing against the door. "?! Please let me out! You forgave me, Rose!"
There was no response, leaving Ana alone in the cell, starving for even a drop of human blood. The vampire grunted, curling up against the wall and praying that someone would find her in the cellar. Of course, Ana knew that she was still in the boarding house because Rose couldn't go outside, not without a daylight object.

Hang on... Ana checked her wrist for her daylight bracelet, and... it's gone. Oh, no... oh, no indeed.

A loud clanking of the cell door unlocking woke Ana up, and she clumsily stumbled up from the floor.
"Wow, she really did get you." Damon smirked, though concern was etched around his blue eyes. He tossed a blood bag at Ana, watching as she downed the whole bag. "Thought you'd be hungry. Sorry about Rose..."
"It's not your fault." Ana reassured him, moving past the vampire to leave the cellar. "But... we do have a slight problem."
Damon furrowed his brows, huffing when he saw Ana's daylight bracelet missing from her wrist.
"Look, you... you stay here." Damon told Ana, heading towards the exit of the boarding house. "It may be night time right now, but it won't stay dark for long."
"What?" Ana remarked, jumping in front of Damon. "I'm not just going to stay here like a lap dog. Damon, she has my bracelet. I've had that thing for all five hundred years of my vampire life, and I'm not losing it now."
Silence followed Ana's reply, until Damon sighed heavily and handed Ana a stake "Fine, come with me. Just, forgodsake, don't create a scene."
"Wow, you really don't know me." Ana smirked, practically prancing down the boarding house steps and towards where the party was happening in Mystic Falls.

Ana stood beside Elena as the doppelganger attempted to get ahold of her boyfriend. Damon was currently talking to the sheriff and, considering Ana's apparent age, both vampires had decided it best for Ana to hang with Elena like an ordinary teenager.
Damon came up behind the pair of girls, seemingly irritated, and Elena asked "Have you heard from him? Do you know what he's up to?"

"Baby brother's not exactly my priority right now." Damon remarked, and he cast a worried glance to Ana, a signal that Rose had already killed someone. Handing Elena a stake, Damon added "Take this. Come on, let's go."
"Hey, Damon?" Ana asked, and Damon turned his head around to listen. "I bet she's looking for her necks victim, ha! Get it, 'cause she bites their-"
"Can I ask again, how are you and Katherine related?"
★·'¯'·★
Ana and Damon rushed across Mystic Falls as they spotted Rose devouring her next victim. It felt like they had been searching for hours, and Ana was starting to panic about how long it'd be until she'd need her daylight bracelet.
"Rose, stop!" Damon bellowed across the car park, and Rose rushed towards Damon, tackling him onto the ground so she was looming over him.
Immediately, Ana yanked the vampire away from Damon, holding her in place until the dark veins under her eyes began to disperse and her humanity was slowly restored. "Rose, Rose, it's Ana and Damon. We won't hurt you, okay?"
Rose didn't reply, slowly turning her head to the side and noticing the dead body sprawled along the car park. "Did I do this?" She asked, her voice raising as she realised how rabid she was becoming. Through sobs, she wept "No! I didn't mean to. I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I never wanted to hurt anybody."
"I know, I know." Damon soothed, rushing over and motioning for Ana to move so he could comfort the crying vampire.
From the sidelines, Elena watched as Rose wailed "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Turning to Ana, Rose yelped "I'm sorry I hurt you... so sorry."
"Come on, let's get you home." Damon told Rose, watching as Ana tried to sneakily yank her bracelet from Rose's desiccating wrist.
Before Ana could pry the bracelet away, Rose recoiled, shifting frantically on the ground. "No, I don't have a home. I haven't had a home in so long! Oh, make it stop! Please, make it stop! Oh, !"
With that, Damon scooped Rose into his arms and walked back to the boarding mansion with her in his arms, also returning Ana's daylight bracelet back to her.

The Hazards of Skinny Dipping
This isn't a deep book about first loves or self-discovery. If you want a book like that, I'd be happy to recommend one, but I don't have that kind of story to tell. Instead my story is about rash decisions and finding out that your dream guy is bad in bed. It's the story of when I finally went skinny dipping, and how my life was never the same again. Oh, and it's also the story of my freshman year of college and realizing Mr. Right might have been there all along.
