Elena collapsed on the scrawny, ancient armchair beside Ana, tired of being kidnapped like this. Ana, however, was quite enjoying spending time exploring the mansion. Apart from Katerina, it wasn't like the girl had many people who were worried about her whereabouts.

"What's that?" Ana asked Elena upon noticing a scrunched piece of paper below her shoe.

Elena shrugged, unravelling the piece of paper and showing it to Ana.

Stefan and Damon are coming for you.

"Who's 'B'?" Ana asked, smirking at the note.

"Oh, she's my friend, who also happens to be a witch." Elena explained, turning to Ana "Have you ever heard of the Bennett witches?"

Ana nodded, replying "I spent a few years in Mystic Falls in the 1940s, even got some research done that's probably still in the town archives."

"Wow, isn't it weird how you and Katherine both came to Mystic Falls at different points?" Elena said, smiling at the youngest Petrova.

Reminiscent of the days she spent in Mystic Falls, Ana answered "Not exactly, I mean, it a supernatural town."

Rose lifted the heavy bag from the chair that Elena was curled on. Both girls hadn't spoken much since the vampire had entered, only sharing hopeful glances and watching Rose dallying around the mansion.

"He's here." Trevor said, bursting into the room and sprinting down the steps "This was a mistake."

In disagreement with her companion, Rose responded "No, I told you I would get us out of this. You have to trust me."

"No! He wants me dead, Rose! All because of Katerina Petrova..." Trevor snarled at Ana, going to lunge but being stopped by an angry Rose.

"He wants the doppelganger and Ana more." Rose told him sternly "If you kill the youngest Petrova now, we may have Klaus chasing us for centuries more. Elijah wants them more."

Trevor threw his arms in the air "I can't do this. You give them to him, he'll have mercy on you, but I need to get out of here."

"Run, little wolf." Ana taunted, smirking at the crazed vampire.

Rose shot the girl a glare, turning back to Trevor and saying "Hey. What are we?"

"We're family." Trevor replied after taking a few deep breaths "Forever."

A loud pounding noise made all three vampires and Elena snap their heads round, and Elena immediately cottoned onto the weird atmosphere.

"You're scared." She said, squinting her eyes whilst trying to figure out why two ancient vampires could possibly be scared.

Ignoring Elena's comment, Rose commanded Trevor "Stay here with them and don't make a sound. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled on Ana, okay?"

Nodding, Trevor watched his companion rush away to answer the door.

Ana laughed once Rose left the room, but Trevor sped over to her and clasped a hand over her mouth, not missing the sharp glare she gave him afterwards.

Elijah Mikaelson stood at the mansion, the door slightly ajar, letting a stream of light into the abandoned house. The original had been summoned here, and he hoped that whomever did it had a good reason to, otherwise blood would be spilled. Scanning the mansion, Elijah noticed Rose, a vampire who had betrayed his family centuries ago, descending the staircase.

"Rose-marie." He greeted, taking in her modern look. He definitely prefered 15th century Rose. "Is there somewhere we can talk?"

Rose breathed, nerves wracking against her chest "Yes. In here. You h-have to forgive the house."

"Oh, no. What's a little dirt? I completely understand." Shutting the door behind him, Elijah confidently strolled into the house, treating it like his own.

"So tell me, what is it that gives you the courage to call me?" Elijah asked the woman, waving his hand around as they wandered the large estate.

"I wanted my freedom." Rose confessed honestly, looking up at Elijah "I'm tired of running. You in a position to grant me that?"

Turned away from Rose, Elijah answered "I have complete authority to grant pardon to you and your little pet. What is his name these days? Trevor. If I so see fit."

"Katerina and Ana Petrova." Rose blurted, staring at Elijah with earnest.

The familiar name of his ex-lover and his brother's ex-fiance catches his attention, causing Elijah to snap around "I'm listening."

"Katerina didn't burn in the church in 1864."

Elijah took a comfortable seat in an armchair, waving a hand for Rose "Continue."

"She survived." Rose finished, watching Elijah's reaction, but feeling annoyed that he didn't seem at all surprised.

"Where is she?" Elijah questioned, scanning Rose curiously "And what of the deceased sister, Ana Petrova?"

Ignoring both of Elijah's questions, Rose said "You don't seem surprised by this."

"Oh, when you called and invited me into this armpit of civilization, which is a mere three hours from the town we know as Mystic Falls, I surmised it had everything to do with Katerina. Ana, however. What does Katerina's dead sister have to do with this? You weren't stupid enough to dabble with dark magic and resurrect her, were you Rose?"

"Nothing of the sort." Rose told him, watching the original with caution "What if I told you Ana Petrova never died in 1492?"

Eyes wide, Elijah inhaled "Impossible. Klaus witnessed Katerina murdering her sister that night. It's how Katerina managed to feed to complete her transition."

"No, Elijah. What people witnessed was Katerina changing her sister into a vampire. Ana Petrova is not dead. She's a vampire, and has been for centuries."

"I-I don't understand though. Why wouldn't Ana come find Klaus, he mourned her harshly in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries." Elijah snapped, rising from his seat.

Rose shook her head "Why don't you ask her yourself when you see her? And she's not the only one I have in my possession."

"Do you have Katerina in your possession, too?" Elijah asked, his attention now fully focused on the docile vampire standing before him.

"I have better." Rose told him, strolling over to where he stood "I have her doppelganger."

Elijah frowned, shaking his head at Rose "Blood be spilled if I find that you've fed me these lies, Rose. That's impossible. The Petrova line ended with Katerina and Ana. I know that for a fact."

"The facts are wrong." Rose told him, smiling cockily.

"Well, show them to me." Elijah told her, walking to the room exit, before being stopped by Rose.

"Elijah, you're a man of honor." Rose began, watching the original "You're to be trusted, but I want to hear you say it again."

The original nodded, repeating exactly what he said earlier "You have my word that I will pardon you."

"Follow me."
