"Hello, Ana Petrova."

Ana stirred in her unconscious state, fluttering open an eye. Where was she? The last the vampire remembered she had been walking with Elena, and... that was it. Someone had kidnapped her and Elena, someone who must've known her and Katherine, but who?

"Man, That captor must've gave you a real hard knock to the head for you to be out this long."

Hang on, Ana had heard that voice before. "T-Trevor?"

The vampire now forced open her eyes and, lo and behold, Trevor sat over her, watching her intensely "Glad you remember the vampire you screwed over to get your freedom."

"Where's Elena?" Ana asked immediately asked, glancing around the room and sighing when seeing Elena scrawled across the other sofa "If this is your way of vengeance against my sister than it's a bit late, don't you think?"

"Late? We've been running for centuries since you and your damned sister tricked us- , into saving you." Trevor spat, leaning in so his face was inches from Ana's.

Jumping up and moving her face away from Trevor's, Ana retorted "Actually, it was just Katherine that wanted saving. I don't know if you've forgotten, but I was happily engaged."

"Nevermind, this isn't about vengeance anyway." Trevor explained, noticing Elena stirring and moving to be there when she wakes up "This is something much bigger than you and I."

"What do you want?" Elena asked Trevor, quickly scanning the room and noticing Ana curled up on one of the opposite sofas.

Trevor shushed Elena, untying the ropes bound around her ankles and wrists. Unlike Elena, Ana had metal cuffs restraining her hands and feet because the centuries-old vampire would find it pretty easy to break through some ropes.

Elena whimpered, whispering "Please, I'm hurt."

"I know." Trevor told the girl, realising that she was far more insufferable than Katherine ever was "Just a taste."

Before Elena could react, Ana sped over and knocked Trevor off of her, and a woman's voice called out "Trevor! Control yourself."

"Buzzkill." Trevor told Rose, rising from the ground where Ana knocked him to.

Rose, stood in the doorway of the room, gripping onto Ana's arm and marcing her back over to the sofa "Are you not keeping an eye on the older one?"

"Nice to see you too, Rose." Ana greeted, slumping on the sofa and huffing loudly.

Elena furrowed her brows at Ana "What do you want with us? Ana, do you know them?"

"My God, you look just like her." Rose said to Elena breathlessly, circling the brunette human.

"No shit, they're doppelgangers." Ana hummed sarcastically, grunting as she fought to get the restraints from her wrists. It was useless, Rose must've used a witch to spell them, because the bounds really were unbreakable.

Shifting on her sofa, Elena remarked "I'm not Katherine. Please, whatever you want-"

"Be quiet, the pair of you." Rose snapped.

"But I'm not Katherine." Elena continued, scared out of her mind, but slightly reassured knowing that Ana would probably find a way out soon. Hopefully. "My name is Elena Gilbert. You don't have to do this."

Ana groaned, telling Elena "She knows who you are, Elena. We wouldn't be here otherwise, trust me."

"She's right, I know who you are." Rose told Elena, leaning in "I said be quiet."

Elena briefly looked over at Ana, turning back to Rose and asking again "What do you want?"

Rose raised her hand and slapped Elena harshly across the face, sending the human doppelganger flying across the room. "I want you to be quiet."

"I hate to say it, but... I told you so, Elena." Ana laughed dryly.

Whipping her head around, Rose hissed "Be quiet."

"How's the girl?" Rose asked Trevor, watching Ana from afar.

Trevor sighed "Still passed out."

"You didn't touch her, did you?" Rose asked her comrade, raising an eyebrow suspiciously.

Laughing, Trevor replied "It's a bit difficult to do so when Ana seems like a bodyguard to the doppelganger. So, you called him?"

"No." Rose responded, looking around "I called one of his contacts. You know how this works."

"Did you or did you not get the message to Elijah?"

Bored as anything on her sofa, Ana perked up at the mention of Elijah, and the black-haired vampire sunk into her seat, eavesdropping to try to figure out what her former brother-in-law might want with her and Elena. Of course, the Sun and the Moon curse.

While Rose and Trevor spoke in the background, Elena rose from her seat and undid Ana's buckles using a key left on her sofa. Both girls wandered the mansion silently, trying to depict as much information as possible.

"They say he got it." Rose said, her voice tenser than before.

Trevor seemed anxious from his tone, and Ana made sure to recognise where the creaks in the floorboard were before her or Elena stepped. "Wonderful. And what?"

"So, that's it, Trevor." Rose finished "He either got it, or he didn't. We just have to wait."

"Look, it's not too late. We can leave the doppelganger here and kill Ana." Trevor snapped "We don't have to go through with this."

Elena gasped at that, but Ana shoved a hand over the teenager's mouth to shut her up so the vampires couldn't hear them.

Rose sighed "I'm sick of running. And killing Ana will only make Klaus more furious. We don't need any more problems."

"Yeah?" Trevor's voice was dripping with sarcasm as he retaliated "Well, running keeps us from dying."

"Elijah is old school. If he accepts our deal, we're free."

One foot forward, Elena went to sneak past them, but she put her shoe on the wrong floorboard and Rose immediately spotted Ana and Elena creeping one behind the other out of their mansion.

"You!" Rose yelled, marching up to the girls "There's nothing around here for miles. If you think you're getting out of this house, you're tragically wrong. ?"

"Who's Elijah?" Elena blurted, and Ana huffed irritably.

Rose turned to Ana "Why don't you ask your friend here?"

Ana sighed, and answered "I was engaged to his brother; my only memories of him are fond. You're asking the wrong person."

"He's your worst nightmare." Rose taunted Elena, eyes widening. Rose walked off, leaving a nostalgic Ana and a frightened Elena.

Turning to Ana, Elena asked "Engaged to his brother?"

"Yes, it's a long story and one I don't want to delve into right now." Ana replied, smiling sadly at the human "Why don't we explore this mansion, seeing as we have nowhere else to go and nothing else to do."

"Aren't you scared? This Elijah sounds pretty scary." Elena told Ana as they wandered the corridors.

Shaking her head, Ana said "I have no reason to be scared. Elijah is one of the most trusted originals, you can guarantee that his intentions are always good."

Although inside, Ana felt sick at the thought of Elijah telling her ex-fiance she's still alive.
