How dare he slam the door on me?

I entered my room and turned on the lights, instantly noticing the foreign but familiar scent

"Mason really is your mate isn't he" he asked

"Michael...."

"Just answer me" he said and looked at me. Feeling ashamed, I looked down and nodded making him sigh in frustration

"You know you can't really be with him right?" he asked with a small smile

"Yes ... yes I know that. But I also know I can't 'not be with him'."

"And why can't you? Huh, don't tell me you like him" he raised his voice

"No no no no, it's not like that. You know I can't reject my mate and if I leave him, he'll be broken and he can't become the next alpha without his mate. If I leave him, I'll ruin his life"

He stared at me for some time before walking past me and leaving my room

I walked down to my bed and sat down, the feel of the material on my skin already irritating me. I stood up and tried to zip it down but it wasn't working. After a few more tries, I gave up, until Joshua walked in

"Good...." He tried to say but I cut him off

"Right on time. Please help me unzip this, I'm feeling really uncomfortable" I said and turned my back to him

"Um... sure" he said and unzipped it without feeling uncomfortable...like most normal boys would

"I didn't unzip it completely because err...you know..." he said

"yeah yeah yeah. Wait in the bathroom till I'm done" I said and he left

I removed the gown and lay down on the bed, staring at the ceiling for some time

"Huh...princess, I've been in here for a while now. Can I come out?" I heard Joshua's voice from the bathroom. I sighed, stood up and put on my nightwear

"You can come out now" I said and lay back down on the bed as he came out

"Goodnight princess" he said and was about to lie on his own bed

"Wait Joshua...I didn't see you for most part of the ball the ball, where were you?" I asked as I sat up

"Oh I was with some of the other pets."

"But I came to look for you after the crash but your friends said they hadn't seen you" I said with a frown

"Well...huh, i...i had to um...use the toilet real bad...and the line at the ball was really long so...I had to use the one here"

"Oh...and when did you go to after you were done" I asked again

"I...um, heard that the ball was almost over so...I didn't bother coming back" he whispered the last part

"And who gave you the permission to do that" I asked him and he looked down. I smiled, stood up and walked closer to him

"you should know better than to lie to a vampire" I said and touched his chest, right where his heart should be "I'll let you go this time, only because I have a headache and I'm not ready for your shit right now but remember one thing, never lie to me again" I said and lay down on the bed

"Sorry princess' he said

"I'll be sleeping today, I'm really tired. Please don't wake me up tomorrow"

"Yes princess' he said and lay down on his bed as I slept off

"I swear I remember nothing!" I stood up and turned my back to prince Devon and Isabella

For the past few minutes after I woke up, they've been asking me strange questions. Shouldn't they be getting ready for the ball?

"So you mean you can't remember anything from yesterday" he asked

"Well I can remember following you guys to the mall to get ready for the ball....which is today" I said with a frown and they sighed

"Arielle, the ball was yesterday" Devon said

"No, the ball is today" I said

"You lost your memory Arielle" Isabella said and I looked at her

"At this point I'm not even surprised." I said and sat down "so what happened" I asked

"Nothing you need to worry about. We just wanted to know if you remember anything" he said

"I don't" I said and stood up again "can I leave now" I asked and he nodded

"I see you've awoken mutt" I spat out, looking at the tall figure standing in front of me. He scoffed and came closer

"I should have known the zyme was from you" he rolled his eyes

"Yes...and the chandelier almost falling on your beautiful mate was also me" I said and smirked when he growled

"I swear to God if she got hurt..."

"Don't worry, no one got hurt. But even if she did get hurt..." I moved closer to him "you and I know you won't be able to do anything about it" I said and chuckled when he went stiff

"You really shouldn't be threatening me though. You need me just as much as I need you" he said with a smug smile

"You're right. But I still have the upper hand over here" I said and sat back down

"Whatever, you should leave now before anyone catches you here"

"Don't worry, they won't. You will be meeting with Arabella to discuss the next step. Make sure no one follows you or else, their death will be on you" I said with a sinister smile

"okay. I will be going now" he said and left

"You really should learn how to mind your business, Justin" I said and turned to look at the shaking figure crouching in the corner of the room. I walked slowly to him. He got up and tried to move away

"g-get away fr-from me" he said and stumbled a bit but I caught him" I swear, I won't tell anyone, I'll keep my mouth shut just please don't hurt me" he said and closed his eyes as he started crying

"Don't worry Justin, I won't hurt you" I said and hugged him

"r-really?" he asked and I chuckled

"I lied" I said and injected him with venom, making him die slowly and painfully

"Tsk...tsk...tsk" I said and walked away from the body

"Arabella" I called out and waited for some time before she appeared

"You summoned me master" she said and bowed

"Clear my tracks" I pointed at the body "but don't get rid of the body. I want the Royals to see it. "I said

"Yes master" she said and I walked out
