"Is he not aware he cannot drink from his human mate unless she's been changed to a vampire" Isabella, our family witch asked.

I looked at Devon's struggling form. She had used some kind of spell to prevent him from moving

"He didn't know she was his mate" I answered

"Is there anyway you can help him?" My mom asked

" the only way is to get the girl's blood out of his system, but that will be hard because she wasn't the last person he drank from. It's not impossible though, it's just going to take time" Isabella said

"But Arielle is the only pet he has. He's still gonna drink from her one way or the other" I said

"Then get him another pet. If he drinks from Arielle, he'll want more. I'm surprised he didn't even kill her. It's almost impossible to resist the blood of human mates. If she had died, Devon will become a blood thirsty vampire as no other blood will be able to satisfy his hunger" Isabella said

"So we need to bring Arielle here?"Dad asked

"As soon as possible"

"Well, that isn't a problem. Hey...since Devon has found his mate, there's no need for a ball right?" I asked

"I guess so..." My dad answered but was interrupted by Isabella

"I'll advice you still carry carry on with the ball. Not every vampire likes the idea of a human queen. Devon's mate being human should be kept a secret until she's been turned to a vampire and being made Queen. No new will harm her once she's queen" she said

"You're right. Thank you so much Isabella" my mother said

"No need to thank me. It's my duty to serve this family anyway I can" she replied

"We're still very grateful. The girl will be to yoy shortly" dad said and we all left.

I met Michael waiting outside by the door

"What did she say?" He asked

"He's gonna be okay" I said with a smile

"Wooh, that's a relief" he sighs

"Yeah" I said, following an awkward silence

"So how was your coming of age? Have you found your mate?" Je asked and I looked at him. There was nothing different in his smell, his touch, there was no special urge to be with him, nothing mom and sad talked about. Sigh

"My coming of age was okay, but I haven't found my mate yet. What 'bout you?" I asked

"Nah, I haven't either. I was kinda hoping you'd be mine" he said, looking extremely awkward

"Yeah, me too...I guess. Thanks fpr coming when I called" I tried to change the subject

"No problem. Devon's my best friend, I couldn't have said no"

"Let's get Arielle" I said

I walked into my room with Michael and saw Joshua and Arielle cuddling on the bed

"The dude's your pet?" Michael asked with an amused smile

"Sadly, yes" I answered with a frown. Joshua and Arielle's relationship is gonna be a huge problem in the future. I walked over to the bed and tapped Joshua on the face. He's a light sleeper so he woke up immediately. He saw the position he was in with Arielle and looked at me, then back are her. He got up carefully from the bed so as not to disturb Arielle

"Princess, you're back" he said with a slight head bow....to maybe I'm just short

"You know, for a pet, you sure are manly" Michael said from behind me and came forward

"Thanks prince Michael" Joshua replied with an almost forced smile

"I never got to ask, how'd you know me" Michael asked

Oh no

"Of course I'll know you, you're princess Megan's boyfriend. She can't stop talking about you" Joshua mused

"Boyfriend huh..." Michael said to me, smirking. I blushed and turned to Joshua

"Michael's not my boyfriend. He's Devon's best friend" I said with a look that read "you're so dead"

"Oh" Joshua gulped

"Don't worry..."Michael put his hand around my shoulder "...we'll soon work things out, right Megan?" He asked with a wink

"Nothing's working out" I mumbled only loud enough for him to hear due to his vampire hearing

There was a slight cough and we all turned to see Arielle, looking at us with sleepy eyes

"How long have you been up?" I asked

" I just woke up" her voice was cracked, probably due to crying so much. Joshua gave her a glass of water and she thanked him. Sigh

" good. We need you for a sacrifice" Michael said nonchalantly

"A what?!" Arielle asked and Joshua looked shocked

I glared at Michael but he just shrugged

"Not sacrifice, we need you to help Devon" I said

"Uh uhn, no way I'm going near that killing machine" she said, obviously scared

"Don't worry, the witch paralyzed him so she needs to get your blood out of him. It's confusing though, just come with me" I said and she sighed

"Okay fine" she said and stood uo. Suddenly, her stomach growled causing us to smile at her embarrassment

"I'm hungry" she said and Michael laughed

"No kidding" he said and snickered

Arielle's POV

He stared at me and I stared back. He blinked, I blinked. But when he growled, I squeaked and hid behind Joshua. The witch had stepped out for a moment and Megan told Joshua to stay with me. Joshua laughed at my reaction and I glared at him. Is he crazy??

"Oh don't give me that look. Didn't you listen to Megan? Devon is being held by a spell, he can't move and I don't think he can speak either" Joshua said

"But what if she made a mistake" I asked

"Then we're dead" he answered

"I'm back, I just needed to..." The red headed woman who I assume is the witch stopped at the sight of Joshua. She looked scared and almost afraid. I turned to look at Joshua and he looked neutral, but a look of familiarity danced in his eyes. Do they know each other?

"Ehm ehm" I coughed and she came to her senses

"Oh...y-you must be Arielle" she said, glancing at Joshua ever so slightly

"Yeah, Joshua was asked to stay with me if you don't mind" I said and she frowned

"I'm afraid your friend will have to leave. No one else is allowed to be here" she said, glaring at Joshua while he just shrugged. I'm going to ask him about his relationship with her later

"Okay then. See you later Arielle" Joshua said but he was staring at the witch, then he left

"So...may I know your name" I asked as she sat me down on the bed next to Devon, his eyes following my every move.

"No" she said, not paying attention to me

"Oh....well I'm Arielle. I guess you already know" I said and mentally face palm for my stupidity. I could almost swear I saw Devon roll his eyes.

She sighed, looked at me and said

"Do you have any health issues?"

"None that I know of..."I replied

"Good" that was the last thing I heard before everything went black
