《Sophie Swan: P.L》Chapter twenty two:

The pack arrived shortly after Bella and I did. "They don't trust us enough to be in their human forms."
"They came, that's what matters. Will you translate? Welcome. Jasper has experience with newborns. He'll teach us how to defeat them."
"They want to know how the newborns differ from us."
"They're a great deal stronger than us because their own human blood lingers in their tissues. Our kind is never more physically powerful than in our first several months of this life."
"Carlisle's right. That's why they're created. A newborn army doesn't need thousands like a human army. But no human army could stand against them. Now, the two most important things to remember are, first never let them get their arms around you they'll crush you instantly. And second, never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that. And you will lose. Emmett. Don't hold back."
"Not in my nature."
Emmett and Jasper give a demonstration before everyone else is to practice their fighting skills.
"Never lose focus. One more thing never turn your back on your enemy."
After a long day, we all went home and readied ourselves for the battle.
Although, one battle that I didn't really prepare myself for is walking in on my sister and dad having the s-e-x talk.
"Dad, I'm a virgin."
"Ahh! De-de, de-de. Ok, good. Glad we covered that."
"Me too?" Bella called out as she went upstairs.
My dad saw me and I just pointed behind me. "I-uh just wanted to say that I was going to Paul's, um. Yeah, bye."
I couldn't have run out of that house quicker.
Paul was having a laughing fit when I told him. "You seriously caught them having that conversation, that's gold."

"It wouldn't have been gold if he spoke to me about it. Or you. You really want my dad to look at you and think."
"No."
"Yeah."
"I mean if we were ever to talk about it. When would you feel like is the right time?"
"Um."
"We don't have to do anything until our wedding if you want. I just don't want to push you, into doing anything."
"Can we just cuddle and watch the movie. Hopefully, this time we're not interrupted."
"Yeah, why is it every time we try and watch a movie we're always bugged on by others?"
"Hahaha, I have no idea."
Paul and I enjoyed our night before he was to fight the next day.
It was decided that Paul would carry me up the mountain, while Jacob carried Bella. Paul and I had our own tent, while Edward and Bella had theirs with Jacob joining to keep Bella extra warm while the storm passes.
Thank god for Paul and his body heat, because even though I was covered head to toe in winter clothing. I was freezing. Having Paul there created a barrier between the cold and my body, which I was so grateful for.
The next morning to much of my dismay I said my goodbyes to Paul.
"Sophie, you ok?"
"What if he gets hurt."
"I'm sure he'll be fine."
"Easy for you to say, you're not even fighting."
"Jacob just got there. He's good. They both are."
I hold onto Bella's hand for her support. This is making me so nervous I think I might cry. "Oh, thank god."
"Paul had two on his back, Emmett got them off."
I don't think I can take this. I wish I stayed home with Emily. "What, did someone get hurt?"

"Was it Paul?"
"No, she's close. I can hear her thoughts. Seth, go." We watch his retreating figure. Bella and I went by Edward's side.
"How did she find us?"
"She knew we weren't there, but she caught my scent. She knew you would be with me." Edward said the last bit to Bella.
"She found us."
"She's not alone."
"What?" I whisper. We watch as a boy walks toward us.
"Riley, listen to me. Victoria is just using you to distract me. She knows I'll kill you. In fact, she'll be glad she doesn't have to deal with you anymore."
"Don't listen, Riley. I told you about their mind tricks."
"I can read her mind, so I know what she thinks of you."
"He's lying."
"She only created you and this army to avenger her true mate, James. That's the only thing she cares about, not you."
"There's only you. You know that."
"Think about it. You're from Forks. You know the area. That's the only reason she chose you. She doesn't love you."
"Riley, don't let him do this to us. You know I love you."
"You're dead."
Riley headed straight for us, luckily Seth came out of the bush and tackled him to the ground, smashing Riley's arm off. Victoria tried to make a run, however, was stopped by Edward's taunting.
"You won't get another chance like this again. You want them. You want me to feel the pain you felt when I killed James. When I tore him to pieces. When I turned him into ash. When I turned him into nothing."
Edward and Victoria started to fight. Victoria managed to climb a tree before Edward could grab her. Edward grabbed Bella and me and guided us further away from the campsite, meanwhile keeping an eye on Victoria. Bella and I hid behind a bush, watching as Edward makes Victoria come down.
I saw Seth get smashed up against a boulder, while Riley makes his way over to Edward and Victoria.
I tried going to Seth, but Bella holds me back.
While Riley and Victoria were occupied with Edward I left Bella and made my way over to Seth.
"Seth. Hey, are you alright? Lay still alright." I stroked Seth on the head, as he lay conscious but dazed.
I didn't realise that Victoria was near me until it was too late. I was grabbed by her, now standing in front of my worried sister and her boyfriend. My heart was pounding. Seth came and ripped Riley away, possibly killing him. Edward looked like he was going to move, but Victoria was quicker. She bit me in the neck before rushing at Edward and a bleeding Bella? When...?
I fell to the floor. This burning pain flows through my veins as I start convulsing. My head was burning. I screamed out bloody murder before everything went black. The last thing on my mind was Paul.

If there are any mistakes (which I know there will be) please tell me even if it's just a minor one. Thank you. Jake was just a normal high school student who plays games and reads manga/novels, he doesn't like to go outside that much and he's a little socially awkward. On one day Jake was just reading a novel and he mumbled ''Status''.
