Another lonely day in the vampire's coven. Although my mother is still visiting me I still feel lonely and I know why. It's because I need Mortimer to be there with me and comfort me. But I doubt he will want to come and see me since he still can be angry at me because I didn't let him mark me. Because I only cared about my dreams and goals, I was selfish. But there was another side saying I did a good thing and I still have a chance to win.

When the nurse decided to check on me and interrupted my thoughts and was surprised with her visit I winced from the pain. My body is still in pain from being poisoned.

"How are you, Miss Silvermoon?" The nurse asked me. Well I was feeling better than in the day I was poisoned and my veins don't burn that much like before.

"Well, I can move my fingers and toes without any pain. When do you think I will recover?" I asked her. I can't stand being bedridden. It's gloomy here and I want to move, but instead, I'm stuck in here.

"Well, Judging by the pace you are recovering. It should probably take you almost a month to recover." She said with a serious tone. A month? That will be a long time before I recover. I was sad by the information and decided to take a nap in hopes of feeling happier the next day.

I opened my eyes a little from the nap I had. I felt someone holding my hand, I felt a familiar spark. I tightened my hold on his hand to make sure that it wasn't a dream. Then I opened my eyes to see him sitting next to me and holding my hand. He looked tired and had bags underneath his eyes.

"I'm so sorry, Alice. I should have protected you better." Mortimer said with regret in his voice. I felt a little hurt that he was blaming himself.

"No, I'm sorry I should have been more careful," I said. If only I had noticed my kidnapper's presence earlier, then I wouldn't be stuck here. I looked at him and my eyes started watering.

" Now, now. I shouldn't have pushed you into letting me mark you. Plus, it was my responsibility to protect you." he wiped my tears and kissed my forehead.

"Still, it doesn't make me feel less guilty when you are blaming yourself." I sighed.

"And it doesn't make me feel less guilty when you are blaming yourself, too. But in the end, we are still blaming ourselves and not knowing how to change the topic" He said. When he said the last part I quickly got an idea of what to ask him.

"Well, you can still explain to me why you got banned from your kingdom, "I suggested. To my surprise, Mortimer didn't have any expression that matches with horror. No, he only smirked.

"You are very sly, Alice. Fine, I will tell you my story of why I was banned and why I'm dangerous. But I must warn you this story is kinda scandalous for you." He said in a serious voice.

"Well, it's not like I can escape you in this state," I said sarcastically but he just rolled his eyes and started telling his story.

Third P.O.V :

Once upon a time in the Atlantic kingdom of Sirens lived a prince who was a second son to the King and Queen of the Atlantic ocean. Even though he was born in the royal family he was never loved. His father would always be busy with his duties. With his brother, their relationship is distant and often they misunderstand each other since his brother is always busy with his lessons. His brother had more lessons than Mortimer because he was preparing to become a King of the Atlantic Ocean. And his mother always looked at him with disgust.

I mean how she could love the child when her husband's elder brother raped her and knocked her up with this child then put spell on everyone to think that he is husband's child, not the rapist's. This spell worked and no one got suspicious, but it's didn't work for her since when she sees the child it always reminds her of this horrible moment when she was raped.

But a few years later his sisters were born. Even though Mortimer didn't get along with Aquarius, he did get along with his sisters. He protected them and played with them like every brother should do and they filled his heart with the family's love he's been missing.

Years passed and Mortimer became a more likable prince than Aquarius. He could hunt down a shark, narwal, orca, or even a whale. He is incredibly talented with fencing and mathematics. But his parents were too busy to acknowledge it and his brother was a little jealous of him, but he knew he couldn't waste time on him when he should study on becoming the King.

His powers also became strong not only he could easily control people, but he could also decide if the person should be in trance or not and he could easily use his singing spell against one person when multiple people are in one room. But the dangerous part of his power could cause with a singing spell a physical pain or even death.

There is one girl who was fascinated with his talent and wasn't afraid of his powers. Her name is Anastasia, the first love of Mortimer, she was the daughter of the council member that has a big influence in the kingdom. She had beautiful golden locks and intriguing green eyes. First, they became friends then they fell in love.

When they both became sixteen years old they were disappointed that they were not destined for each other. But that didn't stop Mortimer from loving her. If we love each other, then why should we stop loving each other? That is what he always thought.

But until one year later when a mysterious young man barged into the castle and angrily demanded a duel with Mortimer. Anastasia was this young man's mate, but he became angry because she can't have kids anymore since she aborted a baby whose father is Mortimer.

So they fought but fortunately, Mortimer was skilled with swords and managed to kill that young man. But unfortunately for Anastasia, she became insane after hearing news about her soulmate's death. Mortimer tried to cure her insanity but to no avail because the death of the soulmate is incurable insanity. Later in a few weeks, her family members killed her, so she wouldn't suffer from further insanity

Mortimer became depressed and then he found out that Anastasia was only using him to become a Queen. She planned to kill Aquarius so Mortimer would inherit the throne and meeting her soulmate wasn't in her plans but she fell in love with her soulmate and tried to keep a secret from Mortimer and her soulmate that she was cheating. But karma was very cruel to her and she became pregnant with Mortimer's baby.

That's when his first insanity meltdowns. Even though Anastasia's family was understanding of the situation and didn't sue Mortimer. But her brother wanted revenge, so he demanded a duel, but he ended up dead since Mortimer's wielding sword skill is unbeatable.

And then Mortimer started lashing out at other people. Then his parents decided to send him off on the island since it needed management. Mortimer wasn't happy with the arrangement of course but he compiled since he felt that he should be there.

When he arrived on this island his insanity was tranquilized somehow, so he began learning how to live on land. There was Luciano the vampire helping him learn everything about the human ways and human technology. Soon, he started having better control over his emotions and managed to get a double degree in Mathematics and Business.

During his stay, he managed to build from the little village to a wonderful town. But Mortimer still wished to find his soulmate that will stay by his side and be more loyal than how Anastasia was.

Alice's P.O.V:

There were no words that came out of my mouth. He has been through worse things than me. Sure, growing up with no mother is hard but when your parents were almost ignoring is hurtful for every child. Sure there are things I should fear from him, but my pity overtook the fear that I suppose to feel.

"I'm so sorry, I've never known you've been through those things," I said with sincerity in my voice.

"You shouldn't be apologizing and did you think that I was some kinda spoiled prince who likes to have his way?" He asked with amusement in his voice.

"Well I kinda did think like that, but don't blame me because you also assumed wrong things about me," I said with a giggle.

"Well then, I would be glad to hear your story, then!" Mortimer said with a smile on his face.

"Nah, I don't think I can top it off your story ." I jokingly said. There is no way I could top his story off.

"Well, I don't care if you manage to top it or not. I played fair and you should play fair too." He said and I sighed.

" Well, it started when I saw my mother was packing her clothes so she could run away to her soulmate. She told me to keep it a secret so I kept it for a long time. Then my father hired some tutors for me and my brother, but during those years of tutoring I met an omega named Owen.

He was my first male best friend, but then my father and the king noticed that I preferred interacting with Owen more than with Alexander so they sent his family away.

Then my father and the Queen encouraged us to be more than just friends, but I always gave them hints that their ideas don't work. Then during high school, I always thought that my mother didn't like it here and then I started assuming that she ran away because the werewolf community is not a place where she would want to live. So I decided that she wanted to travel or just live her life for herself only , so I wanted the same .

But then I noticed how My father and Alexander's parents were trying to make us a couple , but I managed to hint to them that I only like him as a friend. But unfortunately Alexander didn't catch my hint as we soon celebrated about how it will be our first time attending a Mating ball. He proposed to me but I instantly rejected him.

Overall I didn't want to be a Queen , since I wanted to travel and finish college and maybe do some volunteering , but you kinda ruined it for me ." The last part I said jokingly .

"Well at least you've been to five different places this year !" He said jokingly . Yeah, but not in the circumstance I wanted to be.

"Hey! I didn't make fun out of your story ." I pouted. And then he looked at my face and suddenly he got an idea.

"So Alice, would you like to give me another chance to win you over?" Mortimer said . Will I be willing to give him another chance , so I could end up completely mated to him? Well , I have no choice because earlier I deeply regret fighting with Mortimer.

"Sure."

So I made Anastasia antipod of Alice .While Anastasia was hiding her true intention Alice revealed her intentions on the first day when she met Mortimer.
