I was woken by the sunlight and birds chirping, at first I couldn't recognize the room. Until I remembered that I have a soulmate now. I sighed, thinking it will be a very long year. How can I go through without falling in love? Well, I could escape from this island if I wanted to. But how can you escape without risking ? There is always a it's either a small one or a big one.

I decided to get up and check my phone for any new messages. When I first checked my phone I looked at the time first it's already six in the morning. Man, that's so early, I wish I could wake up in this without any alarm clock. I got new messages already from Kelly and Jake. I guess I should answer some of them.

Then I tried texting Jake, but I guess he is busy with his soulmate, so I rather won't disturb him. I was lying on the bed checking the Supernatural News. There was a discussion about which pair will last and which will not, so I decided that I won't check any posts about myself and Mortimer. When I put down my phone my stomach growled, I guess I need to get some food.

I dressed in my casual clothes and quietly went to the kitchen to get some snacks, there was no one else in the kitchen except for me. The kitchen is pretty big and modern. So I decided to check if there is any food in the refrigerator. To my surprise, there is normal food for me. I kinda thought there would be a lot of random meat and kelp, I guess. So I found some bacon and egg and started cooking them.

"Oh, So your the Prince's soulmate? It's an honor to meet you!" A female voice said. I almost got scared, but when I turned around at the entry stood a fairy who was almost in her forties. She wore a modest maid dress and she has beautiful beige hair and green eyes.

"I guess I am, My name is Alice Silvermoon. It's nice to meet you too! So I guess you work here?" I asked. I went back to cooking my breakfast since I don't want my food to burn.

"Yes, I work here as a maid. My name is Elisabeth Shells. Oh, you are already cooking breakfast? You should have let me cook it for you. Since it's my job to do so !" Elisabeth peered at what I'm cooking. I know that I will feel guilty if I let her cook.

"Oh, no it's fine! I would rather cook something for myself and it seems that my breakfast is already done!" I said and started putting my food on my plate. I put a pan in the sink and sat behind the table island and started eating. Elisabeth started washing the dishes.

"So, Do you plan on staying more than a year or not?"Elisabeth asked. The question caught me off guard and I don't know how I should answer, should I lie or tell her the truth. I guess I choose to go with the truth.

"Well, currently I'm kinda planning to leave after a year since it's not the love that I want. " I told her truthfully, trying not to reveal personal things. Elisabeth nodded at my response, I guess she understood. Elisabeth finished doing her dishes and she started cooking breakfast I guess it's for Mortimer. If Elisabeth is cooking breakfast for Mortimer, it means he will wake up soon.

So I decided to explore this island so I can avoid encountering Mortimer. I told Elisabeth that I'm going to explore the rest of the island and I left the house. Outside the house, it's really warm and birds are still chirping because it's still morning. I followed a pathway that leads to the beach and I decided to sit on the bench and admire the view for a little while.

"Never thought that I would see another werewolf on this island ." A male voice said behind me. I turned my head to look at this person, I tried to smell his scent and he is a werewolf but he also has the scent of a siren so he must be a hybrid. This person had light brown hair and green eyes. He looked to be somewhere in the middle twenties.

"Well, I guess it's your lucky day!" I answered. And then he laughed.

"I guess you are right, maybe it's my lucky day, who knows. By the way, I'm Leon" he said and extended his hand.

"Alice" I shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you, would you like a tour of this island?" I nodded and we started our journey around the island. I don't know if he knows who I am. So he showed the flea market where farmers are placing the fruits or vegetables they have grown. Farmers were welcoming, they smiled at us and I smiled back. Then we went to check out the town center. In the middle, there is a beautiful fountain. The fountain is sculptured so perfectly and it shows that this town has a tropical vibe.

"And can you see the house on the top of the hill?" He pointed at the house that I'm staying in but I still nodded. Which my suspicions are right he doesn't know anything about me.

"In here lives a leader of this island and he is considered the second prince of the Atlantic ocean. He is a great leader, but he is usually busy." Well, I'm glad to have others' opinions about Mortimer and how he treats his people. Then our stomach growled right now it's noon, so it means it's time for lunch.

"Well, I guess it's time for lunch! Would you like to come over to my place? My wife is a wonderful cook!"Leon offered. I was hesitant at first but he didn't give off any shady vibes.

"Are you sure your wife won't mind?" I asked. Because I don't want to intrude in their house. But Leon shook his head and we went to his place. I guess I will be avoiding Mortimer for a little while. Leon lived in a modern but medium-sized house that has a cute garden. He entered the house and smelled that someone was cooking delicious food.

"Honey, I brought back a guest that is new in town !" Leon said cheerfully. The one thing I noticed in this town, how can anyone act so warm towards a stranger.

"Oh, great! Lunch is almost ready!" A woman's voice said. She came out of the kitchen and she almost glared at me but she held on and she decided to get to know me better at first. She had long black hair and purple eyes. Her skin is milky. I unnoticed tried to sniff her scent, she is a siren.

"Oh, Hello I'm Selena, I'm glad to meet you !" She said with a smile, maybe it's a fake smile.

"Hi, I'm Alice and I'm new in this town even though you already knew that, I hope you won't mind that I'm staying for lunch," I said awkwardly and then she invited me to sit in the dining room and I patiently waited for lunch to be ready. I chatted with Leon while lunch was cooking. And finally, Selena made mashed potatoes and a steak.

"So I was kinda wondering what the sirens eat nowadays?" I asked Leon and Selena.

"Well, it depends on the generation. Right now there are a lot of sirens who eat only animal meat, but their children can eat vegetables and fruits. Some sirens can get used to the new types of foods easily like me" Selena explained. Well, it does make sense, because back in the days' werewolves used to eat humans, but now we eat anything that any human can eat.

"So I've heard Prince's soulmate has arrived at this island, "Selena said. I almost choked on the food when I heard about this news but somehow I remained calm. I hope they will remain oblivious.

"That is great when we have a princess on our side. We will be stronger. "Leon said happily and Selena nodded at his words.

"So, any idea what kind of creature she is?"I asked both Leon and Selena shook their heads. And we spent our time chatting happily about our life. Selena already warmed up to me, I guess it's a good thing. I found out that if I want to get clothes it's either order them online or go to the nearest human town which is far. We started chatting about TV shows and our conversation went longer than I expected. I said goodbyes to Leon and Selena and went back to the place where I'm supposed to stay.

While walking back to the house I noticed a beautiful sunset. In my opinion, the sunset on this island is very different from where I used to live. I sighed, I wish that I could go home now. Where I can watch our favorite TV shows with Kelly, or just play some video games with Jake. I guess I need to survive just to come back home.

Now I'm closer to the house when I move closer to this house I feel more tension when I come closer. I think I successfully managed to avoid Mortimer for the whole day. But then I have to deal with confrontation, well I think it was worth it. I opened the door and I tried to walk quietly, so no one would hear me. But my plan failed instantly.

"Will you mind telling me where you have been?" Mortimer said. He was sitting on the staircase and he had a serious look on his face. It kinda reminds me of how teen girls are trying to sneak in the house, but their mother already caught her drunk. Well in that case I'm not drunk and Mortimer is not my mother.

"Exploring, what else?" I said. Besides staying at Leon's house for a few hours, I've been exploring.

"I'm sure it doesn't take that long to explore the town, Anywhere else you have been doing besides exploring?" He asked. In his eyes I see that he doubts me, but if I need to make Mortimer believe me. I have to remain calm when he asks me something.

"Only exploring, sometimes I tend to be a slow walker so I could admire the views" I tried lying. But I know that I have failed at lying when in his eyes flashed amusement.

"Slow walker? Back in the games, you weren't that slow, when we walked to the exit. So what made you slower this time?" He mused and came closer to me. I guess he knew that I told him a lie. But I think I should remain stubborn.

"Well, the mesmerizing views around the island of course, what else?" I said and I moved backwards. But Mortimer still made a step forward towards me.

"You know I could have easily believed you, but your heartbeat tells me otherwise. "He said in a husky voice. I stepped back and my back hit the table. Then he came closer and closed in, so I couldn't escape. I don't know how to counter this argument when my mind is already blank. Mortimer leaned and our lips met once again. He kissed me more passionately which made me kiss him back. Unfortunately, I enjoyed the kiss. I don't understand how I'm supposed to reject him after a year.
