Alice's POV:

So apparently everybody in the room except Kelly knew that Alexander was gonna 'propose' to me. But when Alexander came back to the room, by the look of their face they were shocked that I rejected him. Except for Kelly and Jake, they knew I'm gonna reject his proposal since I don't do arranged matings. I wish I could see the faces of the people when they thought that I would accept, this is cruel of me but I don't care.

At least they gave me a choice, usually parents didn't give their child any choices on that matter.

In the next few days, everybody was busy preparing for the Mating Ball Event. God who created this name for this event? Maids of the castle were hurrying around the castle to prepare the ballroom. Chefs are preparing the menu for this evening. Tailors were helping me and Kelly by making our dresses.

"Are you guys sure you want to do this? We can always go and b-" The sentence was cut off by the Tailor. Kelly is standing and fuming that we are giving them more work. I was feeling bad that tailors have to do extra work by making our dresses. When I can just buy one in the mall.

"Oh no, the Queen insisted to us that we should make dresses for you lovely girls, So which color do you want your dress to be, Lady Alice? Tailor answered back. I guess my kindness won't go against the Queen's orders. So I decided that I wanted a Navy colored dress and Kelly decided on an orange dress. We both explained how we want our dresses to be designed. Tailors were quickly showing variants of designs and I chose the one I liked better. Then they took my and Kelly's measurement and started sewing our gowns.

After we finished with our measurements we walked out of the room and walked through the hallways walking to the exit of the castle. I was curious why would the Queen offer that her tailors make our dresses after I rejected her son. Maybe she understands my reason?

"Seriously!? Again with daydreaming ?" Kelly groaned and sheepishly smiled and shrugged at her and apologized to her. Usually, I would never ignore her but I guess since the special event is coming closer and closer. I got more nervous and even started ignoring my best friend.

"So as I was saying normally I would scold you for rejecting Alexander's proposal since I care about your life and I want the best for you, but I know I'm your best friend and I know that you want to meet your soulmate first before accepting any proposals. And for that, I support you because I would like to see you happy rather than protected and wealthy." With that, I almost cried and I hugged her and she hugged me back.

"Thank you, Kelly! But I would rather see you happy with your mate! " We hugged once more and then we were really happy with our little confession. It's like the last time we see each other until after we meet our destined mates. So after we exited the palace we separated and I went to my house.

So this is the day that I didn't wait for. Yep, today is the Mating Ball right now people from other packs are coming to this pack this morning so they can rest and easily prepare for this night. I, on the other hand, munch my delicious breakfast and watch from the balcony how many people have arrived. We always have this tradition that girls stay in hotels that are East of the palace and boys stay in the hotels that are West of the palace. So in the Mating Ball, people act surprised, happy, etc.

No one was at home except for me. So I would usually study some College textbooks or read some fan fiction. Sometimes I watch anime. I don't know if Pokemon is considered a cartoon or anime, but I like Attack on Titan that's for sure. I watch some youtube videos since all teenagers do that. I like holidays because you can lay around all day in your pajamas and you can learn what you want or how you want, and when you want to learn and read. That's what holidays are supposed to be for nerds like me at least.

After I ate lunch I wanted to go jogging but since today we're having a special event it means I can't go jogging instead I have to prepare for the event to impress my soulmate. So I went to the palace where I can get my dress. And Kelly's mom was waiting there so she could help me and Kelly prepare. I was walking through the hallways until the Maid showed me where to go and I thanked her. When I found a room that looked like a hair salon I saw that Kelly and Kelly's mom were already waiting for me and I saw stylists next to them. The stylist ushered me to sit on the salon chair and they started curling my hair. When the Maid brought our dresses I was shocked when I saw my dress. It was navy like night and there were a few pearls on the bottom of my dress that looked like the starry sky.

So after I finished admiring my gown, the stylist helped to dress me up in my gown. When they put me in a gown and I was again needed to sit down so the stylist can do my make-up. It's irritating when I have to close my eyes so the stylist can do my eyeshadow and eyelashes. After the stylist finished putting makeup on my face, I opened my eyes. I looked like a princess with smokey eye shadow and slightly red lips. Funny thing is that I always considered my beauty average. Well, I never thought about if I am ugly or beautiful. I always wondered if I'm smart or not. Intelligence is the only quality I prefer.

It's almost time and Kel-. Okay, maybe I should stop calling Kelly's Mom like that. I'll call her Mrs. Castello, so Mrs. Castello ushered us to the entrance of the ball and I saw my brother Jake in a tuxedo, and Alexander and David were standing next to my brother. We only shared awkward glances between me and Alexander. I wanted to go outside so I could enter the ballroom like other people but I couldn't since I'm the daughter of the Beta. I should make a Grand entrance like other kids of high-status parents.

"Wow! Jake, you look like a real man tonight!"I said teasing him and then my brother made a funny hurt expression and said "At least you don't wear your pajamas anymore!"

And we both laughed. I can't believe this is the last time I will see my brother before I find my soulmate. But we didn't have time to enjoy this moment since the Announcer started to announce Alexander, then Me and My brother. I walked onto the stage. I walked to the staircase that was right from me and my brother went to the left staircase. People looked at me with curiosity and jealousy. I wanted to blend in with the crowd but I couldn't. I just simply outshine them then I sighed. Since I entered the ballroom I couldn't smell my soulmate, only smelt sweat and perfume. He's not here. But instead of my soulmate, I found a familiar face.

~Flashback~

I remember when I was little I had another best friend named Owen. I never knew what Omega meant until I grew up. We always played together in the kindergarten with Kelly. We did everything together until he had to move to another pack where he will get a higher rank than Omega where his family doesn't have to do the dirty work that only the Omega was given.

"Hey Alice, when we grow up and we have to attend a Ball, would you dance with me?"Owen asked and I giggled and nodded my head and we pinky swore with each other. That was the last time I saw him.

~Flashback Over~

So Owen decided to come and dance with me. We both smiled at each other and made our way to him despite the other man inviting me to dance. I decided that I want to talk to him and dance with him as he promised. We were happy that I noticed him and he invited me to dance.

"Too bad we are not soulmates, but I'm happy that you were able to fulfill your promise"I happily said as we went in the center to dance to the classical music played by musicians. I saw happy faces, angry faces, and sad ones. I remember my dad said that everything could happen after my mom disappeared. I guess this is a reality we live in.

"Yeah! I'm glad that you noticed me, I thought that you had forgotten about me!" He chuckled and I shook my head indicating that I wouldn't forget him no matter what" We enjoyed dancing with each other and catching up with our lives until the music stopped and it was Midnight meaning Crystal of Eros should show people who will participate in Supernatural Mating Games.

"I never saw those two people that are wearing a strange uniform," Owen muttered to himself. I guess this is his second year. I never saw them either but for some reason, they didn't look scary, they looked more strict. The pink crystal started to shine. It means someone will participate in the Games.

The Aura of anticipation grew between people in the Ballroom until Crystal Projected pictures and showed names.

"Alice Silvermoon and Jason Black! Please come to the stage ."I was shocked that I was chosen so I made my way to the stage. When I was on stage I saw the shocked expression of the people I know. And Then I saw Jason Black was making his way to the stage.

"Good, you should both pack your bags since tomorrow we leave this place!" One of the guys in the weird uniform said. When I took A closer look I saw that they are both councilmen, one representing fairies and other vampires. I guess I could call this a Lucky day since it's rare for a werewolf to participate in the Games.
