《Blind Hope》Dressing Hope

Last time on Blind Hope
Dorian crawled into the bed and pulled Hope to him. "Sorry for making you wait." He kissed her forehead and relaxed, feeling her melting into him. She trusted him completely, and he felt that responsibility. But it was a good responsibility; one he wanted to see through to end and come out of the other side better for it. He sighed, hearing her gentle snore. He closed his eyes to sleep, but then sat up slightly, remembering. "What did you do to make William mad? He's literally trained to go with what whatever hap--"
Snore.
~~~~~~~~~~
Hope snuggled her head against Dorian and let out a little yawn. "Wake up, sweet," Dorian said softly, gently nudging her away from him. "We need to prep ourselves for tonight."
"Tonight?"
"Yes, Ms. Luna Queen Knight." Hope sat up slowly, a grin forming on her face.
"And what of... after tonight?" Dorian looked down at her devilish grin, vaguely aware of her staring intently at his nose. Hope squirmed closer to Dorian, pressing herself against him and rubbing her head on him.
"Yo-you're scenting me again..." He closed his eyes as her sweet smell permeated the room. He felt like taking her then and there, and he trembled, pushing his wolf back.
"You know," Hope said softly, guiding her hands slowly up to his face. "A marked queen would be better than an unmarked one. It would show the people our love and dedication." Dorian's breath hitched. Her little hands... so soft... His wolf was pressing just as hard as Hope was.
"My Queen," his voice wavered, "I think you have a point." He pushed her down on the bed, kissing her neck. Hope moaned and exposed herself to him as best she could. Dorian's canines extended, and he gently bit down.
~~~~~~~~~~
"What's that noise?" Vivian asked the attendants who were to help Hope prepare for the ceremony. As they approached the royal quarters, Vivian noticed William and Hector standing impossibly still with stoic expressions. The attendants snickered.

"Maybe we should come back in an hour."
"Who are you kidding!? At least two hours! You know His Majesty won't settle for less than two." The attendants continued to snicker, and Vivian's eyes narrowed on William. He glared at her, remembering the previous night.
"What's going on in there? It sounds like-" Vivian's voice was cut off, but none other than Hope herself. And her screams of bliss filled the chamber. Vivian's voice paled instantly. "O-oh. Ye-yeah. Never mind." She backed away, embarrassed, and practically ran away.
~~~~~~~~~~
Dorian and Hope lay next to each other, panting. Hope moaned just thinking about what had happened. "Sweet, unless you want to go a fourth time, I'd stop that."
"I need to dress." She attempted to move, but gave up. "Too much effort." Dorian laughed and picked her up bridal style.
"Shower?"
"You read my mind."
~~~~~~~~~~
Vivian and the attendants came back to the royal chamber nearly two hours later. Hector had left, but William was as stoic as ever. "You cannot enter." He sighed, noticing the attendants smirks. "They're... showering."
"Together!?" Vivian squeaked, still pale.
"Yes."
"Why aren't these walls soundproof!?" Dorian stepped outside the door in sweatpants, revealing his scarred torso. Vivian, if possible, paled even more. To her horror, she thought how lucky Hope was to be blind.
"They aren't soundproof because," Dorian's hard voice boomed, and Vivian flinched. It was way different from the voice he had been using earlier. She shuddered, remembering that this man had.... filled her best friend. "The Elders of the Kingdom are stingy idiots who need to know the King and Queen are fulfilling the duties of an heir." There was a strained silence, and Dorian huffed. "You're free to enter." He moved to the side, and Vivian darted past him. The attendants followed, snickering. Dorian growled, and they're laughter fell away. "William," Dorian nodded, standing out in the hall.

"Your Majesty."
"You were out here the whole time?"
"Yes, Sir." Dorian winced, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Next time, just leave." William nodded, but still couldn't look Dorian in the eyes.
"Thank you, Majesty." Dorian walked away, muttering under his breath about protocols, and William sighed in relief. Though he doubted leaving would do much. The whole castle staff had pretty much heard their morning.
From inside the room, William heard Vivian squeal, "HE MARKED YOU BEFORE THE CEREMONY?!" His eyes widened in shock, but it was Hope's whimper that brought him back to focus. He darted into the room.
"Highness, are you-" his words fell away when he saw Vivian apologizing profusely for yelling. He backed away and closed the door.
Vivian and the attendants fussed over Hope. The attendants picked out several gorgeous dresses that would have looked absolutely stunning on her, but Vivian stopped them instantly. "No, no," she murmured, peering at all the dresses they had brought. "It needs to be soft. Maybe silky?" The attendants rolled their eyes, but Hope agreed instantly.
"Yes! I've very sensitive to feel. Dory bought me... what was it..." Hope hummed to herself, but ended up just waving her arm. "Try the closet. He bought me really nice feeling clothes."
"I can imagine!" The younger attendant yelped. "This is all cashmere!" Vivian gasped, and then smiled.
"That's so sweet." The attendants quickly began listening to Vivian, and Hope was dressed just in time for the beginning ceremonies.
"What's going to happen?" Hope asked nervously. The attendants had already left, so Vivian settled on the little sofa and sighed.
"I figured you ask, so I've been asking around." She took a bite of a sandwich that had been brought up some time ago. "First, you will walk through the castle to the Luna Queen ceremony, showing off to everyone how great looking you are."
"But I can't-"
"I got you, girl. I've been given permission to walk with you, AND I dressed up too." Hope's eyes brightened, and a huge smile broke out on her face.
"I'll leave you in Dorian's arms, much like a human father for his bride daughter. You'll recite vows and slit each other's wrists. This is the disgusting part. Y'alls blood will be poured into a separate cups, and you'll have to drink it. But don't worry! Since your mates, it shouldn't taste bad." Hope nodded, giving Vivian her full attention. "After this, everyone will bow and accept you..." Hope noticed Vivian's voice trailed off, and her brows furrowed.
"Is there an, or?"
"Uh, yeah? So, if someone wants to be Luna Queen or doesn't think you're fit, then they can challenge you. But since Dorian marked you, I'm sure no one will oppose because they would lose a King and a Queen." Hope paled and tears pooled in her eyes.
"I... I asked him to mark me. We should have waited, like he said." Vivian sighed, knowing that to be the truth. He should have waited.
"It'll be fine. You both know you can take out anyone who dares, and quite frankly, I may oppose if no one else does just so they can see much of a bad mama you are." Hope scoffed, but didn't disagree. They entered into a silence in which Vivian made quick adjustments to her and Hope's outfits. "Anyway, after the opposition, we'll have a ball! The new Alphas will be introduced."
"New Alphas?" Hope's milky eyes seemed to cloud over, but then immediately cleared. "Oh, my family..." Vivian smiled and took Hope's arm, helping her to stand.
"Ready?"
"Ready."

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)

Killstealer
Unfinished - Apologies to anyone who was reading but I have no current intentions to revisit this story Alex was stuck in a rut: He was nearing thirty, and his career seemed to be going no-where; He used to have plenty of friends at university, but had gradually lost touch with them. He had recently started using a dating site, but truthfully he never quite got over his ex. It could be worse; he didn't spend his nights wallowing in self pity. However, he had a sinking feeling that his life was going no-where fast. When Alex decided to take up an old hobby all he really was looking for was something fun to do on friday nights. Thrust into another world by a mad mage Alex must adapt quickly to survive. Unfortunately, Alex showed up late to game night and ends up stuck with a pretty mediocre character in this game like reality. Alex must learn to survive in this new world; just because it all seems like a giant game doesn't make death any less terrifying. This will be my first attempt at writing litrpg. I wanted to set myself the challenge of writing every week and I think knowing people might be reading it will motivate me. I've always worked much better with external deadlines. FAQ Why should I read this LitRPG? I am writing because I enjoy it and you should read it if you enjoy it. If I had to make an elevator pitch I would start off by saying my MC is a rogue type character, which seems a relatively uncommon character at least based on what I have read. I also strive to make the supporting cast three dimensional characters, and not just caricatures. Finally, I can't forget that this is a LitRPG so I have tried to make a RPG system with depth, and one that makes sense. How often will you release chapters? At least once a week is my goal. I am a nurse with a baby at home, so between my hospital and my baby I won't have time for more unless something dramatically changes. Will there be romance? I won't rule it out as I try to let my characters write their own stories. However, there will NEVER be a harem, it just isn't something I am interested in. Gore, Profanity, and Traumatising Content? I don't intend to have any of these present at obscene levels, but my tolerance might be different to yours. The tags are mostly there to cover me.
