As Will had predicted I was able to get out of the hospital by the end of the week but I didn't tell anyone at the firehouse because I wanted it to be a surprise. Jay was there to help me out of the hospital and I begged him to drive me to the firehouse before going home.
I walked/ limped into the firehouse when we arrived, luckily I saw that everyone was there. Jay walked in before me.
"Hey, guys!" He greeted everyone. "So y/n might be getting out soon." He started playing with them.
Everyone started cheering. "How soon?" Hermann asked.
"Like really soon." I walked into the room. I watched as everyone's face lit up as they saw me standing there. All the guys ran to hug me being careful not to squeeze me too tight.
"Damn girl you're looking good as hell." Otis winked at me.
"Watch it Zvonecek" Jay playfully nudged him.
"I'm really glad to be back here guys." I could feel myself start to tear up. "I really thought I'd never see you guys again." I felt a tear roll down my cheek as I remembered that terrifying night.
I saw a couple of the guys tear up. "I think I speak for everyone when I tell you that we would've gone through hell and back to get you back here. You're family y/n." Cruz sniffled.
I wiped a few tears from my eyes. "Guys if I stay here any longer I'll end up balling my eyes out. I have to go home and rest, doctors orders. But I wanted to come say hi and thank you." I playfully rolled my eyes.
"She really does need rest! Let's go baby." Jay said walking back to my side and placing his arm around my waist.

"If you need anything, anything at all give us a call." Casey winked at me.
Jay and I started walking out but Jay turned back around once again. "Thank you all for looking out for her...when I couldn't. I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if something had happened to her." Jay looked down to meet my eyes.

When Jay and I got home I noticed a huge trash bag by the door and the place looking surprisingly clean.
"Did you do this yourself?" I asked Jay suspiciously.
"Let's just say that when we...separated...I wasn't doing too good. The house looked like a college dorm room." He admitted
I walked myself over to the couch. I started overthinking and I didn't even realize when I sighed really loudly.
"What's wrong babe?" Jay rushed to my side "Is something hurting? Should I call Will?"
"No no no babe, I'm ok." I took his hand. I turned to face him and smiled. " I'm just really glad this is all over."
Jay leaned in to give me a deep kiss. "Me too my love." He whispered in between the kiss. I hadn't realized how much I missed this, him, his touch, his love.

He died for the only thing he truly cared about, his family. In a different world a talented mage completes his life’s work, an entire rebuilding of one of the greatest ancient spells, resurrection. But lost to the passage of time is the reason for these requirements. Not to unnecessarily complicate this great magic, but to ensure the transfer of only mortal souls. Tellus Stirs (Previously Earth AA)
The year is 2030. Earth is dying. War, pandemics, overwhelming pollution, species going extinct, climate change, etc. The so-called human race has brought more harm to their planet due to greed; their increased energy needs were on a path of decadence even with their increased technological advancements. Tactical Nukes were already used in conflicted zones in the fight for resources. The conclusion was a deep and frightening hum unleashed deep within the earth, heard by every living creature, and with it, civilization has ended. Those who survived wished they were slain along with their loved ones as the dead didn't have to endure what came after. Others took the opportunity to gain unimaginable power and prestige as a new age began. Chaos reigned as per the prophecies foretold in the past. Those who did not believe knew the signs were actual; these prophecies were no longer popular folk tales. Such titles, the Breaking, the Rapture, the Malhama, and many others, came at a high cost. After all, every city or densely populated area had been hit with natural disasters that encompassed tsunamis, Earthquakes, Firestorms, Typhoons, and hurricanes. Power, food, infrastructure. All of it was gone and what came after was worse as humans were no longer top of the food chain. Yet the imminent destruction of the 21st century re-opened a veil that had kept the world safe from hidden dangers, or maybe it was the other way around. Time will tell. In our story, the Protagonist rises from the ashes of the apocalypse. A desert child soldier nurtured by tragedy and death looking for an escape to fill the void in his heart. By chance, in his hand, he held a blade with immense possibilities. Notes: (30.06.2021) - I have re-edited and revised the following chapters up to Chapter 24. - Changed the Title from Earth AA to Tellus Stirs. Who Fixes Books Anyway?
On the pretense of a raise, the relatively new employee Pernie is called in to talk with her superiors. NOTE: This is a short story written for a class I took recently. As a result of deadlines, it does not possess the quality (or length) that I would like and is rather thrunkated. Perhaps sometime far in the furture I'll fix it up. For now, I have much more important things to work on, such as my other fiction.
