《Jay Halstead x Reader Story/Imagine》(52. Bob Ruzek)

The night of the wedding Jay and I had the most amazing night together, the day had been perfect, just as we had both imagined it to be.
We had planned our honeymoon, we wanted to go to Cancun. But things were getting heavy at work and we knew we both wanted to stay and help.
Hank got a tip from a C.I about a drug mule showing up at a motel, when the team arrived they found the mule cut gutted open in the bathtub. Hank needed Hailey and I to go undercover and get Adam a way in to set a deal with the suspects.
Once again I'd be retaking my former undercover identity of Angel. Hailey and I went to get dressed in the locker room, this time I didn't have to show that much but still needed to wear something hot enough to fit in and to attract the attention of the pigs we were after.
Hailey wore a hot, tight short red dress with a large opening showing her cleavage, I opted for a mesh black dress that showed just the right amount of skin.
We went into the club, Hank had ordered me to stand back while Hailey did the talking and only to butt in if it was necessary. Things were looking good, it looked as though Hailey had things in the bag. It was hard for me to be able to maintain a good look at what was going on since multiple guys tried to approach me offering me drinks and a good time but luckily I was able to get rid of them.
"Angel, get over here." I heard Hailey call me.
"Who d'you get your hands on this time Riley?" I played along winking at the man.
He stupidly smirked and I could tell he was completely buying the whole thing. "He doesn't believe our Jake's got cash." Hailey laughed.
I laughed with her. "You kidding? D'you show him the bracelet he got you?" She nodded. "Yeah well, he gave me this too." I opened my purse showing him the wad of cash I was stashing. "And this don't even scratch the surface of what he's got." I toned done the humor letting him know I was serious."
He nodded. "Alright, I'll meet you tomorrow...only if she's there too." He winked at me.
"Don't worry, I go where she goes," I reassured him.

Hailey and I left and headed back to the team. "I thought that now that we were married this wouldn't bother me so much." Jay passed me his jacket, I wrapped it around me and he took it in his own hands to zip my jacket up. I laughed. "It bothers me way more." he admitted
"You know I only got eyes for you baby." I leaned forward to give him a kiss.
________
We now needed a plan to get into the club and get ourselves introduced to Spiro via Larry. Hailey, Adam, and I walked in, Adam with us on either side of him. We walked in confidently and in character and Larry immediately introduced us to Spiro.
He was very hesitant and suspicious, asking Adam for his driver's license which he took a picture of. "Darlin why don't you come right here?" Spiro tapped his lap for me.
I knew that if we wanted to get this done then I had to make any doubts he had to disappear. "That okay with you Jakey?" I played along.
"NO!" I heard Jay's voice in my ear.
"Go right ahead, honey," Adam answered me, I saw in his eyes and he was uncomfortable but he also knew I had to do this.
"Okay." I giggled as I walked over to Spiro taking a seat on his lap, he brought his hand down over my ass but I knew he was just looking for a reaction which I didn't give him.
"Easy there bud, we've only just met." Adam butted in. "And these are still my girls."
Spiro laughed with him and it seemed like we had finally gotten through to him. Adam started discussing a deal with him. I saw someone was coming in and once we saw who both Adam's and my smile dropped slightly. I saw Adam shut off his audio.
It was Bob, Adam's father. He noticed both Adam and I and tried his best not to react, as did we but I was concerned, and I knew Adam was way more concerned to know what the hell he was doing working for Spiro.
______
All three of us walked out. "What happened in there? The audio cut off?" Jay asked.
I was about to answer but Adam beat me to it. "My battery died." Hailey and I shared a look.
I trusted Adam, and I would do anything for him but I knew that keeping this sort of secret was going to end up getting him in trouble, and I knew I also couldn't keep this from Jay.

Hailey and Adam walked off leaving both Jay and me alone. "What happened? I saw you share a look with Hailey?" Jay wrapped his jacket around me one more time.
"Jay, this stays between us, Adam trusts me." I made him promise.
"Of course." Jay nodded.
"Adam's father, Bob, he showed up. He's working for Spiros, we just don't know to what extent." I revealed.
Jay took a deep sigh understanding the situation.
______
Back at the precinct, Adam had gone out and I knew he was going to talk to his dad. Once he came back I made sure to get him alone pulling him into the coffee room as soon as I got the opportunity. "Please tell me your dad isn't in deep." I started.
"No, I just talked to him, he reassured me he's just doing this for the money nothing else." Adam didn't sound convinced.
"And you believe him?" I asked trying not to sound accusatory.
"What are you trying to say?" I could see he got offended.
"Adam, you know I am very fond of your father. But we both know your dad has never had a problem getting himself into trouble." I leveled with him.
He sighed. "I don't know, I think he knows more than what he's letting me believe." He seemed very disappointed.
I placed a hand on his shoulder trying to show him my support.
______
Working this case was pretty heated, Adam got into a couple of scuffles with Hank, and Hank wanted me to give him information that I didn't have.
We had what we needed and now we just needed the last piece of the plan to go exactly as planned. Adam had asked his father to stay away from Spiro but Adam had to get his stubbornness from somewhere and it wasn't his mom.
Adam went in with the money, the rest of the team was outside. Adam had asked me to keep an eye out for his dad. Spiro arrived and sure enough, Bob was there as the driver.
"Your dad's here," I spoke into my mic letting Adam know.
Jay and I were side by side guns at the ready in case we needed to go in. We exchanged a look of worry. Just like Adam asked me too I kept an eye on Bob and I could tell he was itching to go in, which is exactly what we wanted to avoid given that Adam was getting close to giving us that opportunity to arrest Spiro.
"He's gone in Sarge, Bob's gone in." I spoke into the radio so everyone could hear. "Damn it." I knew Bob had just put Adam in more danger.
Just a couple minutes after Bob went in we heard gunshots coming from inside. "Let's go!" Hank yelled.
I started running in without hesitation. A shootout had started between Spiro's man and Adam and I saw Bob had been hit. "CHICAGO P.D PUT THE GUNS DOWN!" I yelled as soon as I got in but they took the opportunity to shoot against us too.
Jay quickly pulled me to the side and we continued shooting until we had them swarmed and they had no other option but to put down the guns. I ran over to Bob. "Bob listen to me, you're gonna be okay, stay awake for me." I put pressure on his wound and Adam ran over to me after.
"Dad, stay awake." Adam shook his dad looking at me with so much concern in his eyes.
"This is 5021 Trent, I need you to roll an ambulance to our location, we've got a male victim with a bullet wound," I spoke into my radio.
The ambulance arrived shortly taking Bob and Adam away. I walked over to the car to take a breath. "You okay?" I expected Jay to come over, he was always looking out for me.
"You know I love our job, I really do. But I like it way better when the people I care about aren't involved." I started wiping Bob's blood off my hands.
Jay walked over, taking the wet wipe from my hand, he held my hands out and continued cleaning them. "If the people you cared about weren't involved...then you would have never married me." Jay made a good point.
He finished wiping the blood. "Can we go home?" I wrapped my arms around his waist hugging him tightly. He hugged me back.
"Yeah, let's go." He kissed the top of my head but we stayed in that position for a couple of seconds. Jay knew I needed this.
