Jay and I were at the shooting range getting certified again. Even though we both said we weren't competing we also both knew it was a lie. We began shooting, and I made sure to hit the target dead center except leaving one bullet in one very special spot.

"Alright unload your guns." We heard the man through the speaker. We did as told.

"Don't cry when you realize I'm better than you." I joked with Jay.

"Bring your targets forward." the man then instructed.

"Oh, pfff please I was a marksman for a reason honey." He shrugged.

He showed me his sheet all bullets in the center. "Wow, good job." I brought my sheet forward and showed him mine, all bullets also dead in the center except for one that I had aimed right in the groin.

"You scare me." He squinted his eyes at my sheet and I started laughing.

One of the guys doing recertification with us came up to me. "Hey, you guys work with Rixton now don't you?" He asked. Jay stepped forward to listen.

"Yeah, why?" I asked confused.

"A word of warning, you guys should watch your backs with him." was all he said before the officer in charge came out.

"Alright, you both passed, congratulations detectives." He told both Jay and me. Jay got a text alerting him we had to head back to the office which mean we couldn't find out more about this warning.

"What do you think that guy meant?" Jay asked me in the car on our way to the precinct.

"I have no idea, but keep it to yourself before we know more, we don't want to start spreading rumors," I warned him.

"Does he seem suspicious to you?" He ignored my comment.

"No, I mean I've noticed he stares more than most people do but that's not suspicious is it?" I asked him.

"Hmm, I don't know." I could see he wasn't going to let this go.

We had been back at the office for no less than 10 minutes when Adam walked up to me. "Yo sis, so what's the deal with Rixton what'd he do?" He asked me.

I turned around and glared at Jay who just shrugged. "There's no deal with Rixton, now let it go," I told him.

"Oh c, mon." Adam followed after me.

"Ruz we don't know anything, it was just some cop saying something, so just let it go please." I stopped him and at the same time, Kenny walked past us.

"Hey." He greeted us.

"Hi." I shot him a smile but Ruz stayed silent. I slapped his arm.

"Oh hey man, can I ask you something?" He started.

I slapped his arm again. "We were wondering if you wanted to have a drink with us sometime? You know get to know each other?" I stopped Ruz from saying anything and he just nodded behind me.

"Oh...yeah that would be great." he agreed but was suspicious of Adam.

"Good! We should head back to the office." I linked my arm with Adam's and dragged him away with me.

I glared at Adam while I forced him to sit back at his desk before walking back to mine. "What happened? Did he say anything?" Jay whispered to me once I had sat.

"Nothing okay, please let it go!" I whispered back to him.

Even though we were working on this case smoothly I could feel the tension between the team and Rixton. Erin and I being the only ones that just simply wanted to leave this alone. I was listening in to an interrogation when Rixton walked in with me.

"Hey." I greeted him and he smiled.

"Hey listen I know you guys heard things about me and-" he started.

"Don't, you don't have to explain anything to me." I stopped him from feeling guilty for the way he was being excluded.

"Okay." He nodded and smiled and I could tell he was pleased with the fact that not everyone was being completely judgemental of him.

The guys had ended up doing some research on Rixton on their own and tensions were only growing higher with him no matter what Erin or I said. But eventually, word got back to Hank, he stepped out of his office when we were all back at the office giving us all a word of warning to keep our mouth shuts or the next person would be transferred.

By the end of the case, I could tell Jay was still suspicious but was also thinking about his behavior. We were all packing and he walked over to Rixton. "Hey, I'm sorry man." He extended his hand out to him.

I smiled proudly at his action. Kenny took Jay's hand shaking it firmly. After Jay walked back to his desk Kenny began explaining his situation, what really happened and what all the rumors were really about, the rest of the team apologized too.

Kenny had just explained what the rumors were about. I felt guilty for all the tension I had caused especially after y/n insisted I kept my mouth shut until I knew the whole story. y/n headed to the locker room to change and I was tidying my desk.

Kenny walked over to me. "Hey man so what's the deal with y/n?" He asked me.

"What do you mean?" I asked him confused.

"I mean I think she asked me out this afternoon and she's something else." He smirked. "So d'you know if she's dating anyone?" He asked.

I felt myself getting a little angry. I laughed though. "yeah man she's dating someone." I commented.

She came back upstairs then. Kenny walked over to her.

I walked back upstairs ready to leave, Kenny walked over to me. I saw Jay watching by his desk with a smirk. "Hey." He greeted me.

"Hi," I said back a little confused.

"I was wondering if you wanted to get that drink you were talking about this morning? You know to get to know each other?" Kenny asked me.

I remembered the scene this morning with Adam. "Oh yeah, I think the guys are at Molly's we can meet them there if you want," I replied.

"The guys?" He asked.

"Yeah, the team and some guys from 51 and Med will probably be there too. You ready to go, babe?" I called Jay.

"Babe?" He turned to Jay.

I turned to Jay confused. "Yeah, y/n's my girlfriend" Jay smirked walking over to me and putting his arm around my shoulders.

"Wait did you think I meant-" The realization hit me.

"I'm sorry I didn't know." Kenny apologized to us.

"No no, I'm sorry I should've been more clear." I felt embarrassed. "Do you still wanna come to Molly's?" I asked.

"Yeah, yeah I'll meet you guys there." He walked off sheepishly.

Jay and I started walking down and Jay started laughing. I slapped his chest. "You're so mean." I laughed with him.

"What? This guy came up to me and told me how smoking you were." Jay laughed.

"And you didn't tell him we were dating?" I questioned him.

"Well I told him you were dating someone, I just didn't tell him who." Jay continued laughing.

"You're such a child." I rolled my eyes at him playfully.

"What this guy was making a move on you and I was supposed to do nothing about it." Jay shrugged.

I turned to face him. "I'm proud of you today for apologizing," I told him.

He leaned down to kiss me. "I should seriously start listening to what you tell me to do." He smiled.

"About time you realize that." I laughed with him.

At Molly's Jay kept his arm around me the whole time, sometimes just holding my hand but not letting me leave his side. I would've complained to him but I knew he wasn't doing it because of what Kenny did. The way he looked at me the whole night gave me that warm fuzzy feeling in my stomach I got before we started dating.

I kept staring at him as he chatted to people. He looked down at me again. "What?" he asked me.

"I just wanna look at you." I smiled not breaking eye contact. He smiled pulling me into him for a kiss.

"I love you." He whispered to me.

"I love you too," I replied.

"Ughh, you're so gross." Ruz and Kev were giggling together.

"Not our fault you guys can't get a girlfriend." I teased them.

"blah blah blah." Ruz mocked me making Jay and I laugh.

"You guys are so in love it makes me wanna throw up." Kev carried on the teasing with Adam.

Jay and I kissed again to tease them even more and they started making puking noises making all of us laugh even more.
